Researchers today anticipate that in the near future, the majority of the owners of a smartphone will use it as a wallet, i.e. for contactless payment. The technology that enables contactless payment today is ?Near Field Communication? (NFC), which is increasingly embedded in smartphones. Applications like mobile payment between a phone and a terminal use NFC.

In offshore oil production FMC Subsea systems use a product called cap. The cap´s mainly task is to protect hubface and seal areas on inboard hub against dirt, corrosion and mechanical damage under installation of a subsea system. A new model of a cap has been designed and analysed using finite Element method. The model is called KC3-12 and has a new function, emergency release, which is a backup method for the ROV (remote operated vehicle) to release the cap from the hubface when it is placed under water. The cap KC3-12 was found to fulfil the criteria under the test load pressure, according to ASME VIII, div2.

Hur kan en läsupplevelse skapas med inriktning mot manliga läsare? Genom att ta reda på vad som format boken till hur den ser ut idag, undersöka fenomenet "visual writing" och skillnader i manlig/kvinnlig läsning kunde begränsningar och möjligheter skönjas för att utveckla formgivningen av en tryckt artefakt med skönlitterär text. Möjligheterna för digital bokformgivning är stor men i detta arbete undersöktes hur den tryckta boken kan utvecklas vidare. Utifrån respons på det färdiga resultatet kunde en tendens ses att en manlig målgrupp kan uppskatta visuella Element i skönlitterära böcker, och att det är något som inte stör läsningen..

Denna studie undersöker en värdeskapande process som förekommer inom byggbranschen. I denna något exceptionella kontext finns inte den fysiska kärnprodukten - bostaden - att tillgå förrän en avsevärd tid efter köp och det är således av betydelse för kunden att uppleva värde även i processen. Syftet är att undersöka vilka faser samt Element som skapar värde för kunden i processen vid köp av en nyproducerad bostad, fram till tillträdesdagen. Från visningsdagen fram till inflyttning förekommer fem faser i processen som består av varsin cykel. Inom dessa återfinns ett eller flera av Elementen interaktion, stödjande och samskapande.

Then the differences compared to a bent tube in a virgin state, so called Elbow Elements and an analytical in-house program have been evaluated. The virgin state refers to a model of a pipe that is bent from the beginning, thus having a homogeneous thickness and not containing any plastic hardening. The Elbow Element is a calculationally cheap Element, specially developed for accurate calculations of pipe bends in an initially virgin state.The goal with the thesis work is to get a better picture of what happens to a pipe as it is being bent, how this affects the mechanical properties and to evaluate the possibility to develop an easy method for taking these effects into account when using the Elbow Element.This report describes the layout of the work and how the detailed FE-model has been constructed.

REINERTSEN AS performs expansion and buckling analyses of pipelines using ANSYS, afinite Element modelling and analysis tool. In an expansion analysis the pipeline is modelledwith thin?walled pipe Elements called PIPE20 which allows plastic deformation. However, ina recent analysis the results retrieved from the PIPE20 Element were incorrect for strainsabout 1 percent. One main issue was that the PIPE20 Element overestimated the strains.The purpose with this Master Thesis was to become familiar with the theories and analysismethods used in pipeline design.

Urvalsaxiomet (AC) är numera allmänt accepterat som ett naturligt fun-dament i mängdlära. Här presenterar vi hur kardinalitet och kardinaltal kande nieras utan AC och visar ett antal klassiska resultat om vad som kan ske imodeller till ZF där AC är falsk. Det visar sig då att kardinaltalsaritmetiken,som med urvalsaxiomet är trivial, får en potentiellt sett rik struktur.Speciellt presenteras metoden att falsi era AC i så kallade permutations-modeller. Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka om emotionell webbutveckling och emotionella Element kan påverka en kunds incitament till att genomföra köp inom e-handel. E-handel är en viktig och växande del för återförsäljare världen över och med hård konkurrens är det nödvändigt att ha en webbutik som får kunden att stanna och känna sig trygg genom hela köpprocessen. Studien visar att emotionella Element skapar en preferens hos testpersonerna, dels genom ökad trygghet men även genom att engagera testpersonerna emotionellt med designen. Detta resulterar i att emotionell webbutveckling till god fördel kan användas för att förbättra vissa aspekter av webbutiker, framförallt framhävde testpersonerna tycke om sektionen med kundrecensioner samt för de emotionella bilderna. Webbutvecklaren får möjlighet att genom sin design kunna påverka sina besökares tankar och val, vilket exempelvis fördelaktigen kan resultera i en förbättrad relation mellan försäljare och konsument..

Slaget vid Goose Green var det första slaget att äga rum på land under Falklandskriget. Slaget ägde rum under ett par dagar i slutet av maj 1982 mellan brittiska 2 Para och argentinska Task force Mercedes och slutade med en argentinsk kapitulation. Slaget är spektakulärt i flera avseenden ?  bland annat för att britterna lyckades slå en numerärt jämbördig försvarsgrupperad argentinsk motståndare, det var nästan enbart infanteriförband som stred och att befälhavaren för 2 Para stupade. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om nyttjandet av manöverkrigföring på de bägge sidorna kan ha varit avgörande för utgången av slaget.

Till följd av att e-handeln växer, behöver företag inom modeindustrin utveckla sin visual merchandising online, så att den är lika effektiv som i fysiska butiker. De amerikanska forskarna Ha, Kwon och Lennon (2007) utvecklade i en studie en taxonomi där de undersökte visual merchandsing-Element på den koreanska och amerikanska e-handelsmarknaden. Syftet med denna studie är att testa den taxonomi som Ha et al. (2007) utvecklade, på e-handelssidor riktade mot den svenska marknaden.

Water constructions - as a design Element in public spaces is the title of this Master thesis, with a focus on waters function and meaning in the urban environment. By way of introduction, mans relationship to places is described and the factors that contribute to the reality that we prefer some places more than others. A good place to stay is open but well defined, gives protection, offers a good view and is varying in topography and vegetation, together with contents of single landscape Elements like visible water. This study then continues to discuss mans relationship to water and its means for our wellbeing. Despite the fact that people have a different relations to water due to personality, background and age, it?s an Element that raises positive feelings, interest and aesthetic pleasure for most people.

Offentliga platser har i uppgift att vara öppna för allmänheten, men ändå har exkluderande design givits större utrymme på offentliga platser världen över och så även i Sverige. I uppsatsen undersöktes exkluderande och inkluderande design genom en kvalitativ fallstudie bestående av en inventering och ett flertal observationer vid Gustav Adolfs torg i Malmö. Observationerna genomfördes utifrån Element som är vanligt förekommande på offentliga platser, vilka utgjordes av bänk, mur, toalett och fontän. Undersökningen resulterade i hur dessa Element används och av vem. Resultatet från fallstudien utgjorde underlag för en kritisk diskussion som lyfter frågan kring vad exkluderande och inkluderande design är, i de aktuella fall fenomenet förekommer samt vad konsekvenserna blir med att använda den här typen av utformning på offentliga platser.

The purpose of this paper is to understand the climate of the street and how it can be modified to better meet the needs of the street and the user groups. At the same time the conditions of the street and its surroundings also has to be taken into account. To accomplish this it is necessary to have a broad knowledge of the climate conditions in the city. Therefore an overview of the climate Elements and how these are modified in the built-up areas are given. The part of the paper which deals with the city climate has a global approach to be able to give an as complete picture as possible.
