This thesis work is the result of the company Prisjakt?s wish to develop and improve its current system of opinions for online stores. The challenge was to develop a similar system that competitors are using but better. The collection of information is based on purchases and are collected from Web-shops. The purchases can then be monitored in a control panel.

Detta examensarbete har gjorts på uppdrag av Skanska Teknik med handledning av Johan Sjödin. Arbetets syfte var att jämföra olika limträförband, utförda av antingen spikningsplåtar eller WT-T skruvar, och komma fram till den bästa lösningen med hänsyn till bärförmåga, kostnad och utförandetid. I ett projekt har de spikningsplåtar, som används vid limträförband, börjat rosta under extremt fuktiga förhållanden fastän spikningsplåtarna är rostfria enligt tillverkaren. En fördel med WT-T skruvar är att de är gömda inne i träet och på så sätt inte i direkt kontakt med den aggressiva miljön, men även skyddad mot brand. Andra fördelar med WT-T är att utförandetiden är kort och kostnaden är lägre än spikningsplåtsalternativet.

Bacteria are a problem that occurs naturally in dishwashers when the dish stands there dirty for an extended period of time. To get rid of the unpleasant smell that the bacteria is causing, the most common solution is to run a regular washingcycle which can cause problems for the environmentally-conscious consumers since this causes unnecessary energy waste and emissions of chemicals in the washwater. To solve the problem in a more environmentally-friendly way by directly attacking the bacteria with an appropriate bacterialreductionmethod can therefore be an attractive feature in a dishwasher. There are many different ways to treat surfaces that have been exposed to the bacteria. Some high-profile methods are UV-radiation, microwaves and oxidant (ozone) that all three have had success in reducing bacteria in different contexts.

This is a survey of different techniques that may be used for embedding geographicdata into web pages. The purpose of this paper is to show how practicing teachers work to prevent racism. Based on four interviews with teachers at low-, middle- and high schools, where these schools differ in numbers of immigrants and geographical location. Conclusion: None of the four teachers feel that racism is a problem at their school; however, they are confident that some racism is present at their school. In this thesis a number of energy saving methods for a multiplier on algorithmic level are investigated. For the investigation a multiplier is constructed in VHDL, after which the circuit's performance is investigated. A number of techniques for reduced power consumption are introduced in the circuit and are then evaluated. The conclusions are that all investigated methods, pipelining, interleaving and voltage scaling, should be maximally made use of in order to minimize the power consumption..

The development of defoaming additives is steadily progressing and there are therefore always new and improved additives on the market. Some modern additives provide the desired defoaming effects by themselves, in contrasts to previous additives that needed to be used in combination with other additives. The task of this bachelors thesis was to evaluate the possibility of using these improved defoaming additives, with the aim to find alternatives that give the system better defoaming attributes while, at the same time, using less of the primary products. The tests were carried out in the coating type Teknocryl Aqua Combi 2780. The coating is a waterborne air drying acrylat-latex/alkyd based coating that can be used for both single coat painting and primer.

The main project Dry preservation of source-separated organic household wastes involves a new technique for treatment of biowaste through drying. Investigations are going on to determine how the dried biowaste best can be used to close the natural circular flow of nutrients. The objective of this degree project is to determine if the dried biowaste can be used as a soil conditioner. By restoring the nutrients in the material to the ground, the natural circular flow is closed. A declaration of contents, including the nutrient levels, C/N ratio, pH and the electrical conductivity of the dried biowaste, was constructed and a germination test was done to make sure that the material did not inhibit sprouting.

This thesis explores the possibilities of avoiding the issues generally associated with compression of noisy imagery, through the usage of vector quantization. By utilizing the learning aspects of vector quantization, image processing operations such as noise reduction could be implemented in a straightforward way. Several techniques are presented and evaluated. A direct comparison shows that for noisy imagery, vector quantization, in spite of it's simplicity, has clear advantages over MPEG-4 encoding..
