The purpose of this thesis was to explore the phenomenon called bookcrossing. To fulfill this I have asked the following research questions: Why do people participate in bookcrossing?What functions do books have for bookcrossers? The method used is qualitative, semi structured interviews. Four active bookcrossers have been interviewed. These interviews revealed that bookcrossing as an activity in a medium sized town is very small.

This research shows and analyses how pupils in ninth grade in the nine-year compulsory school look at being multilingual, at the Swedish language and at Swedish as a second language. I also want to know if language and culture knowledge are taken care of in school as it says in official documents for the Swedish school and as it also is desired in an intercultural education. For my research I do eight interviews in a suburb school south of Stockholm.My work includes a limited account for the current research about being multilingual, Swedish as a second language and about the close relationship between language and culture. The applied theory is a social constructivist theory which in short can be explained like that we construct social structures that have consequences on the individual as well as on the society.I show in my research how the view of the world around the pupils influences their view on their languages, their school and their neighbourhood. I also draw conclusions from my interviews that language knowledge is little appreciated in school and that Swedish as a second language has a low status..

Detta arbete undersöker möjligheterna att utveckla ett system som kan övervaka lastning eller automatiskt lasta malmvagnar i LKAB's Kirunavaaragruva. Arbetet bestod till stor del att utveckla en testanläggning där laserscannrar används som givare och ett datorbaserat styrsystem som använder informationen från scannrarna till att styra eller övervaka profilen på vagnarna. Anledning till ett intresse för ett sådant system kommer både från ekonomiskt och ett säkerhetsmässigt perspektiv. I dagsläget fjärrlastas malmvagnar i gruvan manuellt av operatörer som sitter ovan jord. Alla vagnar ska helst vara maximalt fyllda utan något spill.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the most common economic effects of countries pursuing trade facilitation. Trade flows are constrained by non-tariff barriers and through trade facilitation these barriers can be decreased. We will study the effects of trade facilitation from a theoretical perspective and evaluate a number of empirical studies. Several different trade barriers will be identified as well as those regions and countries that will gain the most from trade facilitation. We draw the conclusion thatlarge gains would prevail for all countries and that the consumers, businesses and the state all benefit from trade facilitation.

Från Sjövärnskåren division syd, underavdelning Blekinge, inkom en förfrågan om att göra en undersökning och projektering till ett digitalt maskinövervakningssystem.Syftet med maskinövervakningssystemet är att det ska vara lättare för de som tränas ombord att ta till sig maskineriets kondition. Detta kommer att bidra till att minska underhållskostnaderna genom att förbättra övervakningen under drift, för att undvika oönskade driftfall, och dels att förbättra driftsdokumentationen som underlag för beslut om underhållsåtgärder/-intervaller.Projektet innebar en föreberedande undersökning av vilken utrustning som behövs till det nya systemet samt för att få en kostnadsram åt Sjövärnskåren.Vi träffades i Karlskrona för att komma överens om vilka maskinparametrar som skulle presenteras. Därefter påbörjades förundersökning och dokumentationsgenomgång för att ta reda på vilka givare det var samt vad för signal de gav till det befintliga övervakningssystemet. Detta visade sig bli en stor del av projektet som tog mycket tid. Vi var och mätte signalerna från givarna på fartyget utan att komma fram till slutsats.

Uppsatsen handlar om de nya kursplanerna för naturkunskap på gymnasiet (gymnasieskolan 2011). Syftet med studien var att ta reda på hur lärare talar om de nya kursplanerna och hur lärarna konstruerar kursen, eleverna och sig själva när de får tala om kursplanen.Fokus i kursplanen har lagts på ämnets syfte som är övergripande för hela naturkunskapen och på kursen naturkunskap 1a1 vad gäller centralt innehåll och kunskapskrav.Den tidigare forskning studien knyter an till rör läroplansteori och ?det professionella objektet?. Läroplansteorin sammanfattas i de delar som är relevanta för studien och dessa är: läroplansformulering och makt, läroplanskoder, transformering av läroplanen och läroplanens fem ansiktenArbetet var en socialkonstruktionistisk studie med ett diskursanalytiskt angreppssätt. Metoden för datainsamling har varit kvalitativ och har rent praktiskt genomförts via två gruppintervjuer av lärare.Resultatet av undersökningen visade att lärarna konstruerade sig själva som de som ska ?ge? undervisning och eleverna blir således ?mottagare?.

This thesis is based on the conception that class is relevant. The thesis discussesclass relevance and consciousness of class amongst personal at the department ofsocial welfare in Lund.I have studied different theories of class from Karl Marx, Max Weber and PierreBourdieu. The study´s empirical survey is based on interviews with the personalat the department of social welfare in Lund. Then I have applied their view onclass on models based on the theories mentioned above.Out of my analysis I can draw the conclusion that the consciousness of class ishigh and that the applied models matches the interviewed personal. An importantaspect is that class perspective is bound to class.

My essay is written from a basis of one of my own experiences were a child is perceived by us pedagogues as lonely and introverted, as well as having trouble socialising because of, what we can see, difficulties making himself understood verbally. I want to highlight how I as a pedagogue can respond to and strengthen children who are outside but still with the group, in a certain sense. I want to reflect on how we can deepen our understanding of these children and how we can facilitate for children who do not follow the norms of society when it comes to communication. I will analyse and draw conclusions with the help of theorists such as Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotskij and interpretations of these, but also look at it from a sociopsychological perspective as the interactions between people and environments play a large and distinctive role in preschool. The purpose of this essay is to enlighten how different we can see and experience situations in preschool.

This paper aims to describe the geographical changes of Swedish international aid politics since 2007, which was the year the new aid reform of decreasing collaborating countries, came up. To decrease the number of aid receiving countries due to efficiency is not a new idea within Swedish aid politics, but Sweden received criticism from the (DAC) Development Assistance Committee, saying Sweden was active in too many countries, and the government established a policy to decrease the amount of countries given aid. Despite the government?s recent work, science has shown on a failed country focusing. This is followed up in the paper trough examination of statistics to measure the extent of the reduction.

Developing good reading skills is crucial for all pupils in school, and the reading bookis a tool for achieving that. Pupils are entitled to good reading instruction, regardless ofwhich reading level they are at, and regardless of the level of the reader they have beengiven. The aim of the study is to examine a particular teaching material and describe thedifferences that exist between a simpler and a more difficult variant of the same reader.The study is a textual analysis focused on the two readers for grade 2 from the materialDiamantjakten (The Diamond Hunt). The study shows that the two books display greatdifferences. Reading the simpler book involves a smaller amount of text, fewerdescriptive expressions, and a smaller number of words, but it does make demands onthe reader?s ability to read between the lines.

Uppsala University Library owns eight volumes of manuscripts attributed to the academy equerry Johan Leven Ekelund (c.1701?1775). In this thesis, I apply methods from the field of material culture studies in order to establish which of the volumes that formed the donation from Leven to the library mentioned in his will. By mapping certain markers such as places, names and dates I am able to identify to some extent where Leven gained his practical skills and which writers influenced him. By analysing the texts, I draw the conclusion that the manuscripts can be divided into groups aimed for different audiences.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka om det går att minska frånluftsventilationen till tvättapparater för pappersmassaindustrin. Genom att mäta flödet för frånluftsventilationen och mätinstrument vid ångläckaget har undersökningar gjorts om det går att minska frånluftsventilationen. Examensarbetet har utförds för företaget Metso i Sundsvall som bl.a. tillverkar hela systemlösningar till pappersmassaindustrin. Mätningarna har gjorts på SCA Östrand i Timrå som är en pappersmassa tillverkare. Inledningsvis ges en presentation över hur pappersmassatillverkning går till och sedan ges en mera genomgående beskrivning av hur Twinroll tvättapparat, spädskruv och standpipe fungerar.I teori delen tas det upp vilka saker som påverkar ångläckaget för tvättapparaten. Det som påverkar är sambanden i ideala gaslagen, fukt och avdunstning.

Drawing on a broad theoretical framework that includes theories about globalisation and honourculture, this thesis aim is to demonstrate that globalisation and honourculture, constitute a conceptual network, i.e a structural relational matrix in which concepts are embedded. Being part of conceptual network, these concepts are related to each other ontologically. The idea of conceptual network, and the thesis as a whole, draw upon what has been called ?relational perspective?This study aims to show the impact of globalisation on honourculture. The study shows the importance of narrative in the construction of discursive boundaries.

This study examines some students? attitudes towards mathematics in grade 2-4. When studying students? attitudes questionnaires and interviews are often being used as methods. In this study we used a more rare method.
