In my study I have participated at the Fifth Dimension / Active Worlds site in Villa Gymnastiken in Ronneby, where I have worked both as an assistant to the project leader and as a researcher, but also as a participant together with the children. The children are working in a virtual world called Femtedim, created in a internet-based program named Active Worlds Education Universe. The Femtedim-world are bridging together two physical worlds in Ronneby and Copenhagen. My main focus is on an intervention that occurred in the 12th of March when the research-team in Copenhagen, which runs the project in Denmark, decided to create a new challenge for the children since some of them started to get bored. They added gravitation to the Femtedim-world, which lead to a few different reactions among the children.

In this investigation has an attempt to find out whether so called transplanting shock depends on the moving and transplanting of trees, to other conditions, or if it is due to the imbalance between the root to shoot ratio. Seventy trees of Prunus avium have been part of the investigation and these trees have been divided into four different groups depending on methods of production, untouched on the field, trees still on the field but with root pruning, trees moved and planted into Root-Control-Bag, trees moved and planted into Spring-rings. To be able to answer the question, measurements of the length of the terminal shoots and the lateral shoots and the Dimension of the stem growth have been done and also has a visual judgment of the trees vitality been performed. The result shows that it is not only the move of the trees that gives them transplanting shock, but rather the loss of roots which gives an imbalance between the root and crown..

ABSTRACTTitle: Cultural Dimensions? and their relevance in the interpretation of TV commercialsThe purpose of this study has been to explain the cultural Dimensions masculinity versus femininityand individualism versus collectivism and see what their impacts on interpreting commercials are.We also wanted to see if there are any other important aspects to consider when looking at theinterpretation of TV-commercials. To fulfill this purpose we also used this research question:?How are the cultural Dimensions relevant when it comes to interpreting TV-commercials?We used a qualitative approach when conducting this study. We found that the Dimensionindividualism versus collectivism seemed the most applicable, while the respondents? answers fittedthe best to the highlighted theories.

Många av de nya konsumenterna är inte intresserade av teknisk information utan är mer intresserade av funktionen hos produkterna. Studien undersöker kvalitet och kvantitet av information och försöker utreda hur graden av informationsöverlastning påverkas när dessa förändras. Genom att förändra antalet attribut och mängden komplicerad information mäts urvalskvalitet och urvalseffektivitet samt subjektiva gensvar hos försökspersonerna.

Hofstede constructed a culture Dimension called Power Distance, measuring the inequality of Power. Germany and Sweden have relatively similar values according to his world-renowned research. But a series of interviews of Swedish entrepreneurs in Germany shows that these perceive a large difference in inequality of power in the two countries. This essay seeks to explain the difference between these subjective-qualitative experiences and the objective-quantitative data of Hofstedes Power Distance Index. We propose that a combination of differences in communication, exercise and visibility of power and formality influence the way Power Distance is perceived.

During the work at Gateway Security AB in Motala I began examining available antenna models to get a wider perspective, this have given knowledge of their structure, and an understanding of their function. All my necessary fact is based on my observations and notes of these measurings. New antenna models, and available models were examined where measurements at different heights and different distances on the antenna were performed with the help of an oscilloscope and a measure probe, peak ? to - peak was brought on the signal. The measurements are presented in a line diagram.

Western scholars have long sought to grasp the essence of and explain Buddhism. Western representation of Buddhism has been in a manner that reflects their concerns and interests. In addition to this it is also known that Buddhism in Sweden is seen in a favorable way. This study tries to locate where this positive attitude toward Buddhism stems from and if it is represented in this manner in Swedish textbooks. Therefore three textbooks of upper secondary class of religion are to be examined, not only to see if there is a positive attitude towards it, but to see in what manner Buddhism is depicted in Swedish schools on the whole.

The purpose is to describe the calculation procedure and the background to the formulas and expressions that occurs. Furthermore results from different calculation methods (hand calculations and computer calculations) will be compared to see how they differ.The goal with this is to go through the parts of Eurocode dealing with shear force and that this will lead to a clear review of these. You should also be able to see how results and the calculation procedure differ between different calculation methods.

The aim of this master-thesis is to investigate the emergence of bureaucratic drift in connection with implementation of EU-legislation in Sweden. To narrow it down I have chosen to look at the Swedish implementation of the Working Time Directive, directive 93/104/EG. To be able to fulfil the purpose of this master-thesis I have used two research questions; [1] How did Sweden implement the Working Time Directive into Swedish law? and [2] Why did Sweden omit to correct implement the Working Time Directive? To be able to understand and explain the situation I have used the principal-agent perspective as a theoretical framework. An analysis of motives has been used as analytical method.The results from the analysis show that Sweden, in order to keep the contractual model used on the labour market, which is a part of the well known Swedish model, shirked while implementing the directive and implemented as to be able to fulfil its own agenda.

Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie av maktdistansen i den turkiska banksektorn. Syftet är att beskriva hur maktdistansen ser ut i den turkiska banksektorn. Intervjuer har genomförts med sex personer i olika positioner inom en turkisk bank. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är Geert Hofstedes kulturDimensionsteori, mer specifikt den Dimension som behandlar maktdistans. Tre egna begrepp har skapats med utgångspunkt i Hofstedes teori om maktdistans i arbetslivet.

Uppsatsen syftar till att visa hur normer kring kön och sexualitet upphävs och utmanas under lajv (levande rollspel). Materialet som används är fältanteckningar från en deltagande observation under ett lajv och fem intervjuer med lajvare. Resultatet visar att heteronormativiteten och den heterosexuella matrisen bryts under lajv, det vill säga det finns en queer Dimension under lajv. Denna brytning är möjlig eftersom lajv blir ett liminalt tillstånd genom leken och därmed inverteras samhällets normer. Under lajv kan deltagarna spela med sin könsidentitet och sin sexuella identitet vilket tydligt visar att dessa identiteter inte är några fasta kategorier utan föränderliga och flytande.

Metoden ?Psychodynamic Movement in Analytical Music Therapy?, har kroppen som medium fo?r ro?relseimprovisation och kroppsuppfattning i musikterapi. Anva?ndandet av kroppen i ro?relse anses stimulera till o?kad kontakt med inre ro?relse sa?som sinnesfo?rnimmelser, ka?nslor och blockerad psykisk energi, som i sin tur anses underla?tta uttryck och erfarenhet av dessa inre processer.

Att vårda sina relationer har för företag blivit betydligt viktigare och mer tid har lagts på utvecklandet av relationsmarknadsföring. Hur dessa relationer skapas och vad som gör att de utvecklas och bibehålls har dessutom varit i forskarnas blickfång. I dagens forskning åtskiljs relationer mellan företag samt relationer mellan företag och konsumenter.Syftet med denna uppsats är att, genom att studera och analysera Hendryx Skis Industries konsumentrelationer, undersöka huruvida Holmlunds relationsmodell, som utvecklats för att studera relationer mellan företag, även är tillämpbar för att undersöka relationer mellan företag och konsumenter.Med skidföretaget Hendryx Skis Industries som fallstudie analyserades det insamlade materialet med hjälp av tre Dimensioner; en teknisk, en social och en ekonomisk. Tydligt kan sägas att den tekniska och sociala Dimensionen kan identifieras som viktiga och väl fungerande mätinstrument. Däremot bör bättre anpassade ekonomiska variabler utarbetas för att på bästa sätt kunna analysera kundrelationer även inom denna Dimension..

Is it possible to convey spirituality through art and material culture? Is it possible to renew art within the traditional church so that it appeals and is understandable for the modern man? These are the fundamental questions of my master´s work, which has it´s starting point in a public commission for an artistic contribution to the new Pentecostal church in Kalmar. The work also addresses the question whether there is a need for symbolism, art and sacred objects also within the Pentecostal movement, a traditionally strong image hosting environment. If so, how is it possible to bring this in to the church without completely breaking with the tradition and ideology of the movement? I want to communicate the Christian message in a renewed way, and in this particular project also highlight the importance of using images also within the Pentecostal movement.
