Uppsalas befintliga konstmuseum i Uppsala Slott har små och opraktiska lokaler. Uppsala Konstmuseis Vänner har därför lobbyat mot kommunen för att bygga ett nytt museum. Föreliggande förslag är utformat med utgångspunkt i följande principer och målsättningar:- Att i möjligaste mån använda naturlig indirekt belysning.- En rumslig ?dramaturgi? som gör rörelsen genom muséet oförutsägbar samtidigt som blickfång och siktlinjer skapar orienterbarhet.- Bruk av nivåskillnader för att göra arkitekturen intressantare och för att skapa flera vinklar att betrakta konsten ifrån, samtidigt som alla utställningssalar är åtkomliga för rullstol och barnvagnar.- Ett växelspel mellan symmetri och assymmetri.- En ?tektonisk? utformning av fasaden: grov platsgjuten betongfasad, tjocka väggar med infällda fönster i linje. Samtidigt stora fönster som ger rikligt med ljus men lite direkt solljus.- Patina i fasaden: texturerade gjutformar för fasadgjutning, inga hängrännor, mineraler (?klumpvis?) i betongblandningen som röda alger lever av.- Uppdelning mellan samtida (bottenvåning) och klassisk konst (plan 4-5).- Rumssekvenser som tillåter olika öppettider för museets olika verksamheter.- En arkitektonisk utformning som avspeglar museets inriktning mot både förmodern och modern konst..

This paper examines the possibilities of using video games as a tool for education of virtue ethics. By comparing learning aspects in Marc Prensky?s theory Digital Game-Based Learning and Aristotelian virtue ethics, this paper tries to look for similarities in how each theory looks at learning. Prensky?s theory is about how one can use video games in education, which is why it is used here.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att beskriva patientens uppfattning av den omgivande sjukvårdsmiljön samt betydelsen avseende dess design, färger, konst och ljud för patientens hälsa och upplevelse av välbefinnande. I resultatet ingår 16 artiklar, varav 13 med kvantitativ ansats, 2 med kvalitativ ansats, samt en artikel med både kvantitativ och kvalitativ ansats. Artiklarna representerar studier från flera olika länder; Danmark, Norge, Sverige, Storbritannien, Tyskland, USA, Filippinerna och Kina. Resultatet visade att utformningen av sjukvårdsmiljön, det vill säga dess design, hade stor betydelse för det sociala samspelet, både patienter emellan och mellan en patient och dennes anhöriga och därmed indirekt på patienternas upplevelse av hälsa och välbefinnande. Även fönsterutsiktens kvalitet visade sig i hög grad påverka patientens hälsa och välbefinnande.

This essay is about testing the validity of an article written by Jonas Löwgren, called The use qualities of digital design. The study we have executed is about testing the featured qualities of digital design in the article on two search systems located in the library of Stockholm University and Södertörn University respectively to see how they are able to be applied on search systems. To acquire the information for the study, we handed out a written inquire among users of those systems. The result of this quantitative study shows us that many that five of Löwgrens qualities is likely to be present on the systems. Our conclusion is that five of these are appliable on search systems.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to present guidelines for making a digital repository. To attain this, useful factors for creating an archive were examined. Also different organisations? strategies were analysed.

Theory has concluded that consumers evaluate advertising not only based on what the advertiser's message aims to communicate, but also how the message is communicated. As the most popular activity on the world's largest social media channels is to upload and share photos, it has become crucial for advertisers to define strategies that maximize the reach of photo posts. Two observed variations of images used in posts are graphical images and digital photographs. The aim of this study is to investigate which of these two strategies that generate most positive impact on the sender and its brand. 230 users of the Chinese Facebook and Twitter counterpart, Sina Weibo, were exposed to manipulated Sina Weibo posts after which they answered a survey.

The aim of this two year master thesis is to analyze how digital preservation is presented as a problem in the Swedish national strategy for the digitization and digital preservation of the Swedish cultural heritage. In order to study which assumptions about digital preservation exists within the strategy I apply the discourse oriented methodological tools presented by Carol Lee Bacchi, which focuses on discerning what problem or, rather, representation of a problem exists within a specific policy. This study is a post-structuralist discourse analysis. The main focus of the study is on what assumptions and prerequisites the dominating representation of the problem is based upon and how the representation has evolved. The main material of the study consists of public investigations conducted by the Swedish state, governmental propositions and replies as well as other public documents upon which Bacci's methodological tools are applied.Results show that digital preservation is primarily interpreted as a financial problem as the national strategy and its surrounding documents stress the need of cost-efficient solutions.

The starting point of this paper has to do with rapid changes within the information technology and the need for agile and fast systems. The primary goal is to investigate what happens with recordkeeping practices in agile environments like service oriented architecture (SOA). It is in the possible transfer between IT architecture and digital archive the area of this paper resides. The paper relates to the Records Continuum model by which records will be considered historical and active at the time of creation. In the Records Continuum model recordkeeping practices and archival requirements will have to be taken into account at the time of creation.This paper concerns SOA from the perspective of Archival and Information science.

The physical map that has been used until now can in the modern days be replaced with digital maps available in smart phones and tablets. One disadvantage of both is that the digital maps require the user to have a fully functional sight. The problem with the research done so far is that it provides little explanation as to why developers have decided to design the maps in a specific way. This report shows a qualitative study on how six young adults in the ages between 20-30 who are students at Linnaeus University in Kalmar percieve their news consumption habits and their use of news media on digital platforms. The aim of the study is to examine whether the six students feel the strogest connection with the press where they were raised or where they currently live, why they choose to use the media platforms they do and what meaning the use of the media bare to the students. We have seen a lack of information concerning why young people choose to consume news online instead of in printed media.The study is focused on theories concerning what affects people in their choice of media platforms and channels. This report shows that geographic nature, the quality of the content and which political ideology the daily press is founded on does not affect the respondents choice of media. Our study shows that the most important factor for the respondents is that the platform is easily accesssible and flexible.

Tidigare forskning visar att mammografiscreeningar bidragit till en ökad överlevnad i bröstcancer tack vare tidigt upptäckt av sjukdomen. Dock fanns det ett område inom vilket mammografi hade begränsad diagnostisk förmåga. Det var körtelrik bröstvävnad där cancer kunde döljas för bildgranskade radiologer. Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att undersöka om digital brösttomosyntes kan förbättra detektion/sensitiviteten för bröstcancer, särskilt i täta bröst, och på så sätt bidra till att minska antalet intervallcancrar. Som metod valdes att göra en evidensbaserad litteraturöversikt grundad på kvantitativa studier.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the user service discourses in the field of public libraries that can be identified in four Swedish library journals. Also which underlying causes that control the discourses and the consequences of them are examined. Questions in this study are: which discourses can be found, what characterises them, what kind of different discourses concerning technology in society control the user service discourses and what are the consequences of them. The theoretical starting-point is Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes discourse theory. The method is text analytic.

During test flights SAAB uses the data acquisition system COMET 16. The part of the system that receives the signals from the sensors and converts them is called KSM 15. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a data acquisition module on stacked PC/104 modules with a lower production cost. Our work has been divided into one part about analog signal conditioning and a second part with digital filtering and memory management of the sampled data. The analog part, designed of regular components like instrument amplifiers, voltage references, operational amplifiers and multiplexers, adjusts the sensors signal levels for the ADC?s that converts the signals.

Uppsatsens syfte är att ur ett konstvetenskapligt perspektiv undersöka hybridbilder som uppvisar drag av både konst och reklam, och de gränsöverskridande rörelser som bilderna gör mellan dessa fält. Tre bilder har analyserats för att lyfta fram villkor och förutsättningar för hur förflyttningar mellan konstfältet och reklamfältet kan ske. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten för dessa analyser har varit parametrarna funktion, syfte, upphovsperson och cirkulation utifrån Göran Sonessons bok Bildbetydelser: Inledning till Bildsemiotiken som vetenskap. I varje bild har närvaron av dessa parametrar undersökts i relation till några generella karaktäristiska egenskaper hos konstbilder respektive reklambilder. Resultaten uppvisade en stor variation och ur bildanalyserna utkristalliserade sig tre olika sätt för att uppnå en rörlighet mellan fälten: bilden bygger ett starkt kulturellt kapital som långsiktigt befäster dess rätt till rörlighet; bilden intar en position mittemellan fälten och utnyttjar denna för att kunna förflytta sig i båda riktningarna; bilden befäster sig först som tillhörande en bildkategori och tillhandahåller sedan själv verktygen för att ifrågasätta denna kategorisering..
