This study is part of a project to evaluate and develop metods to control the semen quality in stallions. The study was carried out in cooperation between SLU and Flyinge AB. The objective of the study was to analyse -if there are individual differences in sperm chromatin integrety between different stallions -if there is a correlation between subjectively evaluated sperm motility and sperm chromatin integrity -if sperm chromatin integrity is changed after selection of the semen with a centrifugation method through the silica-spheres, gradient or a single-layer, i.e to use the chromatin integrity analysis as a method to evaluate the selection method. The use of chilled transported semen has increased a lot during the last 10 years, especially among the Swedish warmblood breed. Because the foaling percentage has decreased with the increased use of chilled transported semen, there is a need to develop methods to control the sperm quality. Evaluation of the chromatin integrity could be one way to evaluate the quality of the semen. Chromatin is the DNA in the nucleus of the sperm.

Many traffic incidents are due to the driver?s lack of attention, resulting in dangerous lane departures, either sliding off theroad or into the oppose lane. These kinds of incidents often have serious outcomes, which has led to much effort being concentrated on preventing or lessening the damages when the incident is already a fact, for example by installing safety belts and air bags. These measures may be considered to be acts of so-called passive safety. Active safety on the other hand, means that the safety systems intervene before the incidents have occurred.

Kontroll av zinkskikt på monterat räckesmaterial som görs ute i fält saknar en fastställd metod. Zinktjockleken har ett minimum tjocklekskrav enligt den svenska standarden ISO 1461:2009, som bestäms av dimensionen på ståldetaljens tjocklek. Trafikverket begär att med hjälp av detta examensarbete kunna begränsa antal mätningar på plats, då kan det ta allt för mycket tid och arbetsresurser i fall det skulle behövas kontroll av väg-och bro räckesanläggningar från beställaren.Sannolikhetsläran och stickprov i statistik hjälper oss att begränsa antalet mätningarna på skyddsanordningarna som görs ute i fält. Med hjälp av normalfördelning kommer man fram till den efter strävade metoden, som med en rimlig arbetsinsats ger en rättvisbild av skikttjockleken på monterat räckesmaterial.Vid variation av varmförzinkaren på vägräckesanläggningar undersöker man varje leverantörs räckesdel för sig, alltså man mäter zinktjockleken på en varmförzikare för sig, kontrollerar zinkskiktstjockleken på de och tar slutsatser sedan går man vidare till nästa tillverkare. Om vägräckena är mindre än 30 stycken mäter man zinktjockleken på respektive anläggning.För beräkning av zinkskiktstjockleken på monterad räckesmaterial börjar man med 30 mätningar och användning av den centrala gränsvärde satsen för att approximera till normalfördelning och analysera resultatet.Det slutliga resultatet av examensarbetet är ett Excelprogram med inmatade formler.

Because of an increasing demand from customers and changing external environment, there is a need for continuous improvements, for both manufacturing and service organizations, to meet these demands. Manufacturing organizations have been working systematically with quality improvements for a long time, but it has not been as common for service organizations. Because of that the methods to use for implementation of the systematic improvements have not been designed to fit service organizations, and not either for public organizations. The purpose of this thesis is to explain if and why the Swedish Road Administration?s organizational culture and handling of ideas and Deviation support an implementation of continuous improvement management.

Today in Sweden the concept of the greyzone students that stands between the nine-year compulsory school and special school for mentally retarded children is recognised in different studies and reports. It is not obvious for this group of students to decide which category best can comply with their needs. Should they go in nine-year compulsory school or special school for mentally retarded children? In the last years there have been alarming rapports about how the share of students in special school increases. A study shows that the greyzone students are a group that distinctly is on the increase in the special school.

AbstractAim: The aim of this study was to investigate if treatment with ?dry needling? in myofascial triggerpoints (MTrPs) in the rotatorcuff muscles may affect impingement symptoms such as pain during provocative tests, shoulder mobility, and function. The research questions were: Does the value of pain change on the Visual Analog Pain Scale (VAS) between before and after treatment? Do the positive provocative tests for impingement change between before and after treatment? Does the active shoulder mobility change between before and after treatment? Does the self-rated function change between before and after treatment?Method: The study was a prospective randomized intervention study and 19 persons with impingement symptoms (mean ± standard Deviation; 58 ± 18 years, and shoulder pain duration 3.9 ± 1.6 months) were randomized into two groups. The groups were tested before, directly after and 3 weeks after treatment.

During the past few years a vast amount of research has been done to increase the understanding of the complex ecosystem of the Baltic Sea. Modelling and simulations are important tools to increase knowledge of the system. A suitable model must be simple to use and the parameters and variables needed in the model must be easy to access.In this paper a dynamical mass-balance model, CoastMab, which is validated for smaller coastal areas, has been used to predict concentrations and transports of phosphorus in three large coastal areas - the Gulf of Finland, the Gulf of Gdansk and the Gulf of Riga. CoastMab uses ordinary differential equations to regulate inflow, outflow and internal flows. To reflect seasonal variations in temperature and different types of flows the model has a temporal resolution of a month.

På grund av bristande processkännedom har företaget byggt upp kostnadskrävande kontrollsystem för att garantera att de produkter som levereras ligger inom specifikationsgränserna.

Background:Investments in different forms have always been popular to every human being. The background of this thesis is the lack of market information in residential real estate investments. A problem with this investment is that there is lack of information regarding risk adjusted return for real estates, which this thesis intends to present.Objective:The objective with this thesis is to study which alternative, directly-owned residential estates or stocks, who generates the highest risk adjusted return.

The Employment Protection Act (1982:80; LAS) is one of the cornerstones of the labour law that regulates the relationship between employer and employee. The central rule as stated in 4 § LAS is valid for an indefinite term. LAS is a semi-optional law in accordance with 2 § LAS which facilitates Deviation from the central rule.Temporary employment is dealt with in 5 and 6 §§ LAS, regulations and collective bargaining agreements. The purpose of the legislative change on July 12007 was to simplify the use of temporary employment and to make the law more predictable and easier to interpret. The previous law was unnecessarily difficult for the employer to know when to put into practice.

I denna studie är syftet att undersöka och analysera personer som haft ett alkohol- och/eller narkotikaberoende, när det gäller deras uppfattning och upplevelse av omgivningens syn på dem och deras dåvarande missbruk. Vidare vill vi belysa och analysera om och i så fall på vilket sätt denna syn påverkat dem, i förhållande till deras missbruk. För att besvara syftet har följande frågeställningar använts: Hur upplever människor som har haft ett alkohol- och/eller narkotikaberoende att deras omgivning såg på dem och deras dåvarande missbruk? Vad var det avgörande för att dessa människor tog sig ur sitt beroende? Hur kan detta förstås ur ett stigmatiseringsperspektiv? Idag hävdar många att problemet med alkohol- och narkotikamissbruk inte är själva drogerna i sig utan att alltfler människor lever under ett negativt samhälleligt tryck. Via stämpling skapar detta tryck personliga besvär såsom ångest, självdestruktivitet och dålig självbild.

Sweden signed, in 1992, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and has thus assumed responsibility for the indigenous biodiversity. That also means that Sweden has a conservation responsibility for the Swedish Friesian (SLB) (SJV, 2007a). In a survey conducted by the Board of Agriculture (SJV) in 1996, it appeared that there were around 780 cows and heifers of the SLB breed (SJV, 1997). SJV did in 2006 a plan for the development of livestock genet-ic resources and the number of cows of SLB was estimated at approximately 200. This meant that the SLB was in need of being conserved and SJV assumed it would be categorized as threatened.The primary objective of conservation of a breed is to reduce the loss of the original genetic variation (Lacy et al., 1995).
