Thesis purpose: The main purpose of this study is to empirically verify the applicability of Kozinets´ model on an interest, activity or lifestyle based online community, in order to develop an adaptive segmentation approach for segmenting online communities. Methodology: This research is deductive by nature, cross-sectional by design and undertakes a quantitative approach using self-completion questionnaire as a part of a web survey to collect the empirical data needed. Theoretical perspective: The main theories guiding our work and supporting the findings of this study include: market segmentation (descriptive and behavioural) and communities (consumer communities and online communities). Empirical data: A web survey with self-completion questionnaire used to gather empirical data from members of interest, activity or lifestyle based online communities. Conclusions: This study took the specific characteristics of online communities into more consideration than previous research and literature has done and also recognized that an adaptive segmentation approach is needed, depending on the communities of study.

Syftet med det här projektet är att redovisa ett system- och framtidsperspektiv på designprocessen och industridesignerns roll, vilket också ska resultera i en tydligare definiering och kartläggning av designprocessen samt angränsande ämnesområden.Omfattande faktainsamling gjordes därmed i form av litteraturstudier, studiebesök samt informationsökning på internet. Detta skapade sedan en god grund för kommande intervjuer. Intervjuerna genomfördes med representanter från både lärosäten och SVID samt med verksamma designers, detta i syfte att få fram olika perspektiv och synsätt på de specificerade områdena.Baserat på informationen från faktainsamlingsfasen samt intervjuerna, gjordes en kartläggning av designprocessen med en tydligare koppling till makro- och mikromiljön samt Design management. För att tydliggöra ytterligare sammanställdes också frågeställningar som härrör till arbetsgången.Gällande Industridesignerrollen valde jag att (baserat på intervjuresultatet) visualisera en bild av tänkbara framtida fokusområden och kompetenser.Jag kan konstatera att designprocessen utvecklats till att innefatta mycket mer än ?design av produkter?.

This thesis is the result of the author?s interest in music and electronics, namely the design and manufacturing of a stereo sound system with an active crossover. In short it can be stated that an active crossover has many advantages over its traditional passive counterpart. The active design naturally results in a more complex system comprised of a multiple number of components. The task in this project was to create a graphic profile and a lofi-prototype that would represent Röstförmedlingen as a buissness.

The design methods that have been used aredescribed and also how parts of the webpage have been created by using the design methodresults. Our reflections around design and functionality are explained and how usability hasbeen our main focus during the master thesis. We also describe how it has been to work withan external costumer and how the tasks constantly have changed and been added as theprocess has continued.The background to this work is that AB Scandinavian Travel Agent DMC need to improve theircurrent web page. The theoretical assumption that organizations are either function-driven or pay-driven will serve as a starting point, after which SFV will be defined as a function-driven organization with a pay-formed management control system. The Internet, or new media, was founded in the 60?s by some great philosophers (McLuhan, Rheingold, Lambert and more). With influence from their books I will discuss and analyze what kind of media the Internet is and how it can be seen as extensions to our senses, as McLuhan claims.

This security study attempts to explain the dynamics of international conflict management of an intrastate conflict, through a combination of three theoretical frameworks. The conflict in Syria is shown to be managed mainly through strategies using coercive diplomacy, and some main contributions within the research field relating to strategies of coercion are used for guidance, to important factors which could affect coercive international conflict management, as well as to additional theories which could enhance the study?s explanatory power through a combined theoretical framework. The two added theoretical frameworks are Power Balancing and a Multidimensional concept of Power. With the aid of analytical tools derived from this combined framework the conflict management is analysed within both a multilateral and unilateral setting, offering some explanation as to why international conflict management (practiced by UNSC multilaterally and USA unilaterally) has shown so little progress in regard to the conflict, as well as why one significant, though limited, result could be achieved regarding the destruction of the Syrian regime?s chemical weapons arsenal..
