There is no there, there : om platslöshet i fysisk planering
The vizualisation and creating of places is an essential part of physical planning. The notion of places as placeless, is likewise of importance for the creating of places. Some tendencies concerning architecture like modernism, as well as constructions whome don´t fit in their landscape, have contributed to the benaming and experience of places as placeless. Phenomenon as globalization and post-industrialism have in some cases conduced to the withering of the sense of place. With starting-point in litteraturestudies, observations of places and interviews, this is a lucubration concerning the means of placelessness in physical planning.

PLUG-IN : small scale design process
This degree project is a realization of a strategy for collaboration between an industrial designer and employed workmen of a producing company. The collaboration aims to engage everyone involved in the co-authorship of a products design and manufacturing history. The realization has taken place in an open dialogue where the designer no longer owns the design process by himself. The project has been carried out in cooperation with the company Iris Hantverk. The company is owned by the Swedish body for visually impaired and has their main production facility in Stockholm.

EmoWheel : En metodutveckling för utvärdering av emotionellt engagemang
This is a study of how emotional engagement can be measured and be taken into account in the development of websites. We believe that emotions become relevant only when viewed in correlation to how users experiencing a webpage. In this study, we developed a tool for use together with user tests where the information about the user's emotional engagement can add new value to the evaluation. The tool allows the user to mark, on the website, his/her emotions and level of engagement represented by colored circles, generating quantiative data on how users feel about the website. The tool is part of a method for evaluating the emotional engagement that we have developed which consists of user testing supported by the tool and accompanied by interviews..
MeasureApp : Utveckling av en Android-applikation fo?r ma?tning och kartvisning med hja?lp av GPS
The objective of this project was to develop an application for mobile phones using the Android operating system. The main goal was, with the help of GPS, to pinpoint locations, measure distance traveled and illustrate the progress on a map. Functionalities for just showing the map, fetching addresses and saving to a database was also implemented. The result of the work was a proper application, called MeasureApp, that fulfills the goals set in the planning stages of the project. MeasureApp can be used to measure distances where accuracy is not a main factor, i.e walks or runs.
VISUALISERING AV KATALOGHUS -med ADT och VIZ Render
The aim of this final thesis is to make it easier for the customer of a new designed house to get a picture of what the house will look like inside before it has been built.A method, which can be applied by any construction company who likes to visualize there buildings, has been designed and tested. One works after a regular design planning which is transformed into a three dimensional model of the house. In a rendering program, materials and surfaces are chosen for the model and then a picture of the finished product is made. The programs used for this work are ADT 2006 and VIZ Render.To evaluate the use of this method I?ve chosen to cooperate with LB-Hus which is a housing company that is specialized in building detached houses.

Companies worldwide strive to reduce costs and capital tied up in stock. At the same time, the need for short delivery times requires efficient logistic flows. In order to meet customer demands an efficient warehouse activity is required.The purpose of this study is to develop a model for designing a warehouse system regarding to working environment and safety. The model is primarily designed and based on literature reviews of scientific articles and books, own knowledge and the authors previous work experience in the industry.The thesis has been done at Sandvik AB, the department Precision strip in Sandviken. Sandvik is a high-technology engineering group with advanced products and a world-leading positions within selected areas.
Sveriges bebyggelsestrukturer
För att förstå den fysiska planeringen krävs förståelse för de sammanhang i
vilket planerandet utförs. Bebyggelsen består av många olika delar, byggnader,
vägar med mera, som tillsammans utgör vidare strukturer.
Det krävs insikt i hur bebyggelsen har vuxit fram för att förstå hur nya
strukturer ska utformas efter som de är sammanlänkade och påverkar varandra.
Den här uppsatsen är ett försök att identifiera begrepp för att bättre förstå
dessa strukturer.
En viktig insikt är den om att urbanisering är en komplex process och uppsatsen
grundar sig på en indelning av Nils Lewan i tre olika synsätt på hur
urbanisering kan ses: arkitektens, geografens och sociologens perspektiv.
Beroende på synsätt varierar graden av hur stor del av Sveriges befolkning som
kan sägas vara urban ifrån 70 till nära 100 procent.
Effektivisering av byggproduktion med VDC och förstärkt verklighet : Streamlining construction work with VDC and augmented reality
Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is currently used more and more within construction design and planning as well as construction as a streamlining tool aiming to improve communication and decrease the number of construction defects. VDC is constantly developing, but what comes next? The augmented reality (AR) technology is currently not used within construction in Sweden but should be considered as the next step in line regarding the integration of reality and digital information. Using this technology design can become reality even before it?s actually built.The purpose of this study has been to carry out an inventory of the existing AR technology and its shortcomings, and also to identify possible applications within the construction phase.

Klimatförändringar kommer med största sannolikhet att orsaka en höjning av
havsnivåerna och ökade nederbördsmängder. Detta, tillsammans med en fortsatt
exploatering i riskutsatta områden orsakar större konsekvenser av
översvämningar i framtiden. Tidigare har människan skyddat sig från
översvämningar med hjälp av tekniska strukturer som vallar och barriärer. De
senaste 10-20 åren har det i flera europeiska länder skett ett skifte från
dessa tekniska lösningar mot ett ?mjukare? handlingssätt för att förebygga och
hantera översvämningar i policydokument och rekommendationer från ansvariga
myndigheter.

This degree project is an inquiry in how plan layouts and functions should be designed to suit families with children. The project aim to, if possible, find good solutions and designed houses that satisfy the requirements a family have.Last spring we contacted Willa Nordic AB, a company that produce houses, and they had a suggestion to investigate living for families with children. Their motif were that they lacked in information and knowledge in how to design houses that correspond to a family's needs. We thought the idea was exiting and motivating.The autumn 2008 studies were made on earlier published reports, in the subject "living environment", to get a solid background. The earlier inquiries shows a clear development through the whole 1900's, from being without standards to have well defined norms.
Effektivt nyttjande av högeffektslysdioder i mobil belysning
The purpose of this master thesis has been to find different solutions to the design of a headlamp with a cluster of three or possibly four high power LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). During the work, two different problems have been considered; how to design a lens in order to shape the light beam in a desirable way, and how to design a cooling system which will lower the temperature of the LEDs as efficiently as possible, still taking into account the geometry set by the optical solution as well as other given geometries. The results presented in this thesis are partly the outcome of a literature study, but derive mainly from a number of tests and measurements made on two test rigs and one concept prototype..

have done research and empirical studies. We have analyzed movies to get an
idea how
we use the sound design in Swedish drama productions today. We have produced a
movie
that gives sound the biggest part.

Från webb till app : En studie i hur interaktions- och grafisk design påverkas i utvecklingen från webbplats till mobilapplikation
This paper reports a study in how interaction design and graphic design is affected in the process of developing an mobile application to complement the use of an existing webbsite. The paper also ask how developers are affected in this process by the use of designpatterns. The purpous of the report was to see how designpatterns affects the development of mobile applications and how the interaction and graphic design differs between various company webbsites and their related application. A study was conducted by comparing three diffrent webbsites with three related applications to find material for our thesis. Interviews were conducted on three diffrent companys that work professionaly with creating mobile applications.
