This essay examines middle school students? understanding of a text read aloud to them in English and the connection between the degree of listening comprehension and the expected increase of vocabulary throughout middle school. Den här rapporten är ett resultat av ett examensarbete på 30 högskolepoäng, vid Linköpings Universitet. Rapporten behandlar projektmodeller som kan appliceras på projekt vars syfte är att ta fram informationsmaterial för industriverksamhet. Idén till arbetet väcktes då SSAB beställde en informationsfilm som de skulle kunna använda vid upphandling med nya leverantörer. Filmen skulle belysa hur deras produkter ska hanteras. Filmprojektet var mycket omfattande och för att kunna utföra det med ett tillfredsställande resultat krävdes det att arbetet strukturerades upp ordentligt.

AVT Industriteknik är ett automationsbolag som onekligen genomgått stora förändringar. This thesis deals with oval brooches from the Viking age. The aim of the study is twofold; the first goal is to identify and categorize the brooches according to an already existent scheme, created by two scholars on the subject. This has been accomplished in order establish a separate scheme for this particular material, which consists of two intact and 101 fragments of oval brooches, from Uppåkra in Sweden The other part of the analysis intends to ascertain to what degree it is possible to compare the material with other oval brooches found in Scandinavia, which theories exist about their disappearance and what the most plausible reason for this is..

This is a thesis written for a master's degree at the Computer Vision Laboratory, University of Linköping. An abstract outer product is defined and used as a bridge to reach 2:nd and 4:th order tensors. Some applications of these in geometric analysis of range data are discussed and illustrated. In idealized setups, simple geometric objects, like spheres or polygons, are successfully detected. Finally, the generalization to n:th order tensors for storing and analysing geometric information is discussed..

Bitcoin is a digital currency that is used by people all around the world. The goal of this paper is to give an idea about how much trust there is in bitcoin among its users. This paper has used an online survey aimed at bitcoinusers and a content analysis to collect data about this trust.The conclusions show that there seems to be some trust in bitcoin as a technology and this is based on that the users have a good understanding about how bitcoin works. They also share their knowledge about bitcoin to people around them. The trust between people in the bitcoin network on the contrary doesn?t seem as high because certain technological properties hurt this trust.

Tre projekt; två bostadsprojekt i Stockholm ( Marievik och Årsta) och ett ubåtsmuseum i Karlskrona. Bostadsprojekten visar två olika förhållningssätt till Stockholms förortbebyggelse. Marievik projektet lokaliserat i ett företagsområde i Liljeholmen med närheten till Hornstulls kvartersstad, har som utgångspunkt stenstaden. Räta gator och kvarter får utgöra sinnebilden av stenstadens funktioner. Därav också stadens krav på att den första våningen skall utföras som en sockelvåning ? även om sten och tegel sedan länge lämnat byggnadskonstuktionen för dessa typer av bostadshus.Årsta projektet ligger i utkanten av ABC-staden med fem höga punkt/skivhus som granne i norr och trevånings lameller i söder.

One of many difficult issues in veterinary medicine is the assessment of an animal's experience of pain. As a licensed veterinary nurse in Sweden you are obligated by law to work by the concept of evidence based medicine. To achieve this the author of this study sees the need for standardized methods of pain assessment. A Swedish version of Short form of the Glasgow Composite Measure Pain Scale (CMPS-SF) has recently been translated and developed. Furthermore, a psychometric validation needs to be performed to ensure its validity and reliability.

Ever since Thomas More?s book Utopia was published in 1516, theutopian idea has not lost its topicality and has been strongly rootedin literature, art, film and architecture. Utopia can be seen as a statein which utopia allows a space for wishes, dreams and a desire forsomething better. In my degree project I have chosen to explore thehistorical utopian ideas to create a content that treats utopia on asubjective level. De flesta samhällen i världen är idag påverkade av nyliberala strömningar vilka består av en önskan om en fri marknad utan ingripande från staten. I detta ingår att människan bör frigöras från alla reglerande faktorer i samhället, vilket tar sig uttryck på flera sätt. Ett av dem är ökat fokus på tillväxt och marknadsföring vilket inte bara påverkar företag utan också kommuner och regioner vilka allt mer måste konkurrera mot varandra om befolkning, företag och turister. I denna uppsats undersöks hur en region, i detta fall regionen Jämtland, använder sig av mat som ett regionalt utvecklingsverktyg. Jag har valt att undersöka ett projekt där offentliga och privata aktörer samarbetar för att utveckla Jämtland som en matregion. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur aktörerna jobbar, vilka föreställningar de har om mat samt vad de vill uppnå med detta projekt.

Detta examensarbete vill påvisa en möjlig väg till kompetensutveckling på call centers: personalens deltagande i ett praktiskt utvecklingsprojekt. Studien har skett i samarbete med ett väletablerat call center i Norrbotten, Kalix Tele24. Projektet genomfördes under åtta månader på Kalix Tele24, med stöd och kunskap från en student/handledare från Luleå tekniska universitet, densamma som författaren till examensarbetet. Projektet gick under namnet Projekt Helhetssyn och fokuserade på att hitta förbättringar för samarbete och kommunikation inom företaget samt att skapa rutiner för informationsspridning. Allt arbete inom projektet utfördes av en projektgrupp, bestående av personal från olika delar av Kalix Tele24.
