As revenues from newspaper advertising plummet and their readers loyalty erode, the need to understand newspapers' changing environment and the actors involved in this change is growing in importance. Evidence is the entire industry is entering into a restructuring phase and that this restructuring is driven by the rapid consumer adaption of internet media.In this thesis I elaborate on "how the Internet is affecting the conditions for value creation in printed newspapers" and "how the Internet is affecting the conditions for other actors involved in the printed newspaper's value creation". These two questions land us in the bigger question of "Does the Internet act as a compliment or a substitute to the printed newspaper ".To answer these questions the printed newspaper is represented as the actor in the middle of content producers, advertisers and consumers. It is in its role as a means of distribution and as a co-ordinating force that we study the value creation of the printed newspaper. The empirical base of this thesis is a qualitative participant observation where the author during a period of time interacted and collected data from the open discussion in blogs by several of the industry's top influentials combined with material from seminars and reports on the current state of media.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how staff at secondary schools are thinking and reasoning about notifications to social services based on norm breaking behaviors in students. To find this out five qualitative interviews has been made with counselors in two public schools and three private schools in Örebro län. The results show that there is no clear definition of what norm breaking behavior is which making the reasoning difficult. There are clear procedures for the staff to dealing with norm breaking behaviors but they do not know when they will be applied. The decision to report behavior to the social service is usually not taken individually, it is a result of several people?s views and experiences.

This thesis describes the planning and development of a volume meter of pine and spruce cones. The product was designed and developed for Stigsjö Skog och Frö AB in Härnösand. It was developed taking into account a number of requirements set by the supervisor David Zetterlund. The main requirements were that the volume measurement would be fast and give accurate results. These are two requirements that are missing in today's volume measuring method which is very problematic for the company.The plant was visited several times in Härnösand, mainly to discuss the generated concepts with the supervisor and perform tests on the prototype.

In this master thesis I investigate different views on literary quality in two quite different library journals; Biblioteksbladet and Bibliotek i Samhälle. One aim of the study is to see whether the ambiguity of the term literary quality is considered. Since there is no universally accepted definition of literary quality to be found the analysis is inspired by discourse analysis. This theoretical frame work starts off in the assumption that our views of the world are much dependent the way we describe it. The work of Finnish scholar Sanna Talja is presented and the results of this thesis are compared with the three perspectives on music culture that are presented in her book.

This thesis is closely related to the Dynamically Self-Configuring Automotive System(DySCAS) project. DySCAS is a middleware for electronics in an automotive system. Thethesis work has been performed in cooperation with ENEA. Parts of the demonstrationplatform Self configurable High Availability and Policy based platform for Embeddedsystem (SHAPE) developed for the DySCAS project by ENEA have been used in theimplementation phase of this master thesis.The goal of this thesis was to evaluate how the Meteor MW, an offspring of the DySCASmiddleware, should handle QoS and to design a Quality of Service Manager (QoSM) for theMeteor MW that fulfilled hard real-time requirements. The thesis also had the objectiveof analysing and identifying the requirements on such a QoSM from a QoS perspective.Specifically the requirements to guarantee real-time support for applications running onthe MW.

I den här uppsatsen tittar vi närmare på vad som inbegriper begreppet dyskalkyli, dels har vi gjort en redogörelse för vad matematiksvårigheter är utifrån forskning och skolpersonal. Syftet med denna uppsats var att ta reda på huruvida skolpersonal och forskning erkänner dyskalkyli som ett problem och hur de ser på denna företeelse i allmänhet. Vi har även tittat på hur och vad som är en diagnos. Vi avslutar med en undersökning ute bland specialpedagoger och speciallärare på skolorna. Undersökningen har skett med intervjuer med fem speciallärare och pedagoger där vi har utgått ifrån sex gemensamma frågor.

Interviews with leading and skilled profiles at Nordea Private Banking has been interviewed to provide answers to our research question.Theoretical framework: The chapter starts with theory about what relationship marketing is and what is driving customer loyalty. Thereafter theory that define CRM and its pros and cons are addressed, and finally the chapter describe the implementation phase.Empirical framework:     In the empirical framework we present the qualitative interviews that were done with employees at Nordea Private Banking.Conclusion:                       The result from this study shows that Nordea Private Banking uses strategies that are common in theory of CRM to gain high customer loyalty and the use of recommendations from satisfied customers is of a much higher significance in Nordea Private Banking?s case than of what the theory is implying.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur miljöarbetet ser ut i två tillverkningsföretag och ett grossistföretag. Studien tar sin utgångspunkt i respektive företags miljöansvarigas definition av miljöarbete. Målet med undersökningen är ta reda på vilken strategi respektive företag har avseende miljöarbetet. Studien är gjord i samarbete med Interpares, en frivilligkedja samt inköpsorganisation av byggmaterial, som valt ut tre av företagets leverantörer till den här studien. Studien bygger på ett antal kvalitativa intervjuer med personer som har nyckelroller avseende miljöarbetet på de tre företagen: Festool, Thomée och Nordsjö. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att företagens miljöarbete har olika kännetecken och att de går att dela in i tre miljöstrategier.

Mjölksyrabakterier tillhörande släkten Lactobacillus och Bifidobacterium har nyligen upptäckts hos bin och i honungen de producerar och innefattar 13 nya arter[1]. Forskarna arbetar med att ta fram nya snabba och mer pålitliga identifierings metoder för att karakterisera dessa bakterier. I detta projekt undersöktes möjligheten att identifiera dessa bakterier med en ny metod som heter denaturing high performance liquid chromatography (DHPLC). Metoden bygger på separation av PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplifierade 16S rDNA fragment i DHPLC [8]. Vid identifiering av bakterier amplifierades olika variabla regioner från 16S rRNA genen, som påvisade efter sekvensering störst genetisk variation mellan dessa bakterier [1]. Separationen utfördes med ion-pair reverse-phase high presure liquid chromatoghaphy (IP RP HPLC) med delvis denaturering av DNA molekylen.

The aim of the thesis was to identify whether, and if so how, aspects of sexual health (reproductive health and cohabitation) are compiled in the National Quality Register and identify reasons for this. A quantitative method has been applied to go through the registers annual reports. In the first part of the thesis, the registers annual reports was mapped with the help of a checklist designed through World Health Organizations (WHO) definition of sexual health. In the second part, a questionnaire was sent to those responsible for each register to find reasons to why and how sexual health is included in the National Quality Registers. The result shows that sexual health is not usually included in the register data, although the survey showed that most registers brought up aspects that could affect the current target group's sexual health.

När man studerar logistik finner man att det är ett mångdimensionellt område sett både ur civiltoch militärt perspektiv. Man finner att begreppet logistik används i stor omfattning i dagenssamhälle och kan betecknas som ett modeord. Ser man till svensk försvarsmakt, kan man undersenare år se en snabb utveckling och förändring avseende uppgifter och struktur och där säkerhetspolitiskaförändringar i omvärlden påverkar på olika sätt. Detta inverkar även på logistikfunktionensom måste anpassa sitt funktionsområde utifrån de nya uppgifterna.Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva likheter och olikheter mellan Rysslands, Sveriges ochNATO:s logistikfunktioner avseende; syfte och definition, ingående delfunktioner och delfunktionernasorganisatoriska koppling. Studien har genomförts utifrån operativ och strategisk nivåoch endast den militära logistikfunktionen har studerats.

The internet has become an increasingly part of everyday life with digital artefacts like smartphones and tablets. We?re looking at the usage of social networks and how the usage relates to traditional addiction. We conducted a quantitative research where 84 poeple finished our web survey. Our research focused on addiction, time spent on social networks, normal and non-normal usage and general user patterns.

Syftet med denna C-uppsats har varit att belysa bemötandet av flickor med självskadebeteende. Utifrån litteraturen har det varit svårt att studera vårt ämne, eftersom det har gjorts få undersökningar kring problematiken och det har varit svårt att finna en självklar definition på det vi har studerat. Undersökningen är en kvalitativ studie med intervjuer som metod. Resultatet som framgick av intervjupersonerna visade att bemötandet har en stor betydelse för unga flickor med ett självskadebeteende. Behandlarnas bemötande kunde se olika ut beroende av personligheten, erfarenheter, utbildning samt hur man arbetade på arbetsplatsen.
