Abstract (magisteruppsats, 61-80p)This paper is concerned with the national sentiments in the Federal State of Germany,regarding the east- and west-German cleavages, since the unification of the country in 1990.The point of departure is the nationalistic theory crafted together by the scholar AnthonyDavid Smith, which implies an ethno-symbolistic perspective on the dynamics of nations.The main question in the paper is to which extent you can consider the East- and WestGermans to be a unity, considering the past and the forty-year-division. For this reason theauthor basically uses two different sources: scientific books and the German journal DerSpiegel.Founded on Smith's theory, the study contains a broad explanation for national identities incontemporary states, which ranges from pre-modern times, when the ethnic communities werecreated, to the national world of today.The discontinuity of the German case, represented by the separation 1949-90 of the Germannation into two entirely different societies, makes it possible to draw conclusions about whichfactor that has the pivotal impact on national identities.The result turns out to be that the national historical core-values and symbols of the currentGerman state and nation are more profound than the splitting national sentiments. Different educational and professional backgrounds play important roles in how school librarians prioritize activities in the school library. Whether the school librarian has a background as a teacher or as a librarian, they influence and apprehend the activities of the school library differently. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the school librarian looks at his/her commission. What shifts in priorities can be recognized depending on whether the librarian has training as a teacher or a librarian. This thesis also analyzes how the two different professional backgrounds justify their priorities in the school library.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur kritiken och hatet skiljer sig mellan sex av Sveriges Radios största manliga och kvinnliga radioprofiler, samt att ta reda på hur programledarna hanterar kritiken/hatet det mottar men också undersöka vad kritiken/hatet innehåller. Genom att utföra semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre kvinnor och tre män vill författaren få svar på om kritiken och hatet skiljer sig åt mellan könen. De utvalda programledarna är alla välkända. Kvinnorna är Hanna Hellquist, Nour El Refai och Karin "Kakan" Hermansson. Männen är Kodjo Akolor, David Druid och Henrik Torehammar.

Detta projekt har haft som syfte att producera och grafiskt formge det kommande numret av tidskriftsapplikationen Scandinavian Architectural Review för förlaget It Is Media Svenska AB i Stockholm. Skapandet har utgått från applikationens tidigare grafiska profil och har ämnat att följa tidigare utseende och funktioner utan nya tillägg. Hela produktionen har skapats genom Adobe InDesigns tilläggstjänst Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. Efter att produktionen färdigställts har en analys gjorts av den färdiga applikationen enligt en heuristisk utvärdering ur ett människa-datorinteraktionsperspektiv, till vilken David Benyons tolv designprinciper har  tillämpats. Till stöd i analysarbetet har ett aktivitetsdiagram skapats för att ge en god överblick över hela tidskriftens disposition.

Sedan 1980-talet har organisationers ekonomistyrning förändrats och år 1992 introducerades Balanced Scorecard av Robert S. Kaplan och David P. Norton. Med användandet av Balanced Scorecard ligger fokus på både finansiella nyckeltal och icke-finansiella nyckeltal som tillsammans leder företaget mot ett långsiktigt strategiskt mål. (Cudney, 2009) According to Bergman and Klefsjö 2007, the basic rule of quality improvement says "there is always a way to achieve higher quality at a lower cost". One way is to improve a company's processes to get a more efficient flow and improvements that may cut costs. (Bergman & Klefsjö, 2007) Why it's important to look at the processes are that they often contain waste that can be eliminated.

I Demokratiska Republiken Kongo (DRC) lever 71% (2006) av landets befolkning under fattigdomsgränsen, trots att landet är kapabelt att producera 80% av världens diamanter och besitter stora reserver av mineralerna coltan, kassiterit och koppar. Förklaringen till detta är delvis att landet sedan 1996 plågats av en utdragen konflikt som än idag pågår i östra DRC. Milisgrupper har finansierat sina uppror mot regeringen i huvudstaden Kinshasa genom att illegalt exploatera östra DRC:s gruvområden samt genom direkt assistans från DRC:s grannländer Uganda och Rwanda. Uppsatsen bygger på en litteraturstudie där jag velat belysa vilken roll utvinningen av naturresuser haft i konflikten sedan 1996. Jag har avgränsat mig till östra DRC, dit konflikten och den illegala utvinningen begränsat sig till sedan 1999. Begrepp som varit centrala i uppsatsen är Marx primitiv ackumulation och David Harveys ackumulation genom fråntagande. En av slutsatserna, att den illegala utvinningen av naturresuser framförallt fungerat som en ekonomisk källa för milisgrupper i regionen instämmer med Rwandas president Paul Kagame som sagt att ?konflikten finansierar sig själv?.

This master thesis summarizes contemporary theories on secularization processes in the Western world, and compares these with the example of Sweden, which by many scholars is considered to be the most secularized country in the Western world.I do this by dividing the most influential theorists in five different groups. In each group I explain how the theorists formulate and motivate their positions. These groups are:1) The secularization paradigm, where secularization always accompanies modernization. (Therorists: Steve Bruce and Peter Berger (in the 1960s)2) The paradigm basically accepted, but revised to depend on existential security, rather than modernisation as such. (Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart)3) Religion returned in the public sphere.

This thesis describes the planning and development of a volume meter of pine and spruce cones. The product was designed and developed for Stigsjö Skog och Frö AB in Härnösand. It was developed taking into account a number of requirements set by the supervisor David Zetterlund. The main requirements were that the volume measurement would be fast and give accurate results. These are two requirements that are missing in today's volume measuring method which is very problematic for the company.The plant was visited several times in Härnösand, mainly to discuss the generated concepts with the supervisor and perform tests on the prototype.

The aim of this paper is to clarify the up till now somewhat shady definition of legitimacy, and to investigate what happens to this concept when it is transferred from the boundaries of the nation state to the realms of the international arena. By creating a model of legitimacy from which an institution can be evaluated, the purpose of this paper is to investigate what legitimacy is and how important it is for the actors within the international society. The next step involves evaluating what makes the UN a legitimate institution and how its foundation is affected by the blatant disregard of its authority by one of its? most influential members.The theoretical framework consists of a summary of what contemporary analysts? views of legitimacy are, which I have incorporated into my own institutional model of legitimacy. The role of institutions is central to all aspects of this study.

Interviews with leading and skilled profiles at Nordea Private Banking has been interviewed to provide answers to our research question.Theoretical framework: The chapter starts with theory about what relationship marketing is and what is driving customer loyalty. Thereafter theory that define CRM and its pros and cons are addressed, and finally the chapter describe the implementation phase.Empirical framework:     In the empirical framework we present the qualitative interviews that were done with employees at Nordea Private Banking.Conclusion:                       The result from this study shows that Nordea Private Banking uses strategies that are common in theory of CRM to gain high customer loyalty and the use of recommendations from satisfied customers is of a much higher significance in Nordea Private Banking?s case than of what the theory is implying.
