Ett samhälle där en hög andel av transporterna sker på cykel har många fördelar för miljön, hälsan och ekonomin. Inom staden har cykeln även fördelen att den tar lite utrymme i anspråk och kan bidra till en attraktivare stadsmiljö. Syftet med detta arbete är att presentera åtgärder som ger förutsättning för en ökad och säker cykeltrafik. Baserat på svenska och utländska riktlinjer samt exempel från städer med en hög cykelandel ges en överblick över olika sätt att främja cykling i staden. Det handlar om att inkludera cykelplanering i övriga stadsplaneprocesser, att skapa strategier för stadens utveckling av cykling, att satsa på fysisk infrastruktur anpassad efter cyklisters behov och att informera och följa upp de mål som sätts.

Mobility Management är en teori för utveckling av hållbara transportsystem. Teorin tar avstamp i beteendepåverkande åtgärder med syfte att förändra resan innan den äger rum. Genom att förändra sättet vi ser på resor, använder transportmedel och gör våra vardagliga val, kan obefogat bilanvändande bytas ut mot kollektivtransport, cykel och gång, vilka ses som mer miljövänliga. Genom samordning och ett effektivt användande av transportsystemet kan energi och resande sparas in vilket leder till en bättre miljö både i form av mindre utsläpp, buller och gästvänligare städer. Den här uppsatsen tar utgångspunkt i Lunds kommun för att undersöka hur Mobility Management kan tillämpas i praktiken och vilka effekter som uppkommer.

A numerical simulation case involving space plasma and the evolution of instabilities that generates very fast electrons, i.e. approximately at half of the speed of light, is used as a test bed for scientific visualisation techniques. A visualisation system was developed to provide interactive real-time animation and visualisation of the simulation results. The work focuses on two themes and the integration of them. The first theme is the storage and management of the large data sets produced.

The goal of this thesis is to analyse whether the method ?Observiaire? is of any use for traffic analysis. The method consists of analysing film material, preferably before and after changes are made to an area, by answering a survey for the users that are observed within the population. The method also opens up for deeper qualitative analyses which are rooted in the quantitative data collected from the survey-study. In this study we analyse the method by applying it to the case study of the changes made at Götgatan in Stockholm, where a green wave was implemented and the bicycle road widened.

This thesis studies path generation for industrial robots of six degrees of freedom. A path is defined by connection of simple geometrical objects like arcs and straight lines. About each point at which the objects connect, a region, henceforth called a zone, is defined in which deviation from the defined path is permitted. The zone allows the robot to follow the path at a constant speed, but the acceleration needed may vary. Some means of calculating the zone path as to make the acceleration continuous will be presented.

This master thesis in economics discusses the time use of today as well as the observed trends in time use over the last 20 years in Sweden. This is done by analysing time-use and consumption data at the microeconomic level, i.e. by explaining individual behaviour given the economic assumption of a rational behaviour. We reach the conclusion that the value of time is an important explanatory variable concerning the rationality in that time is used differently by different individuals and in the changed use of time. Furthermore, other variables such as social norms and the process benefit of a certain activity, i.e.

Målet för detta examensarbete har varit att förbättra driften av en motkolvs tvåtaktsmotormed HCCI-förbränning. Huvudfokus för arbetet har varit på gasväxlingsprocessen, dåfrämst avgasprocessen.Motorn har studerats med utgångspunkt från hur en tvåtakts Otto-cykel fungerar.Gasväxlingsprocessen i tvåtaktsmotorer kännetecknas av behovet av att snabbt få ut denförbrända gasen och införa ny blandning vid varje expansionstakt, samt avsaknaden avventiler. Behovet att kunna kontrollera gasflödet genom cylindern ger upphov till två avde mest karaktäristiska systemen på tvåtaktsmotorer: spolpump samt avgaspipa.Utformningen och genomförandet av dessa två system har skapat ett flertal uppgifter somdet varit nödvändigt att lösa: porttider har uppmätts, ett luftintag med trycksatt luft harbyggts för att kunna ändra förhållandet på insugningsluften. Olika insprutningssystem harockså testats.Slutligen har en avgaspipa installerats och trimmats in. Utifrån målsättningen, så har ettlogiskt sätt att angripa problemet gjorts:? Beteende hos kompressibelt gasflöde i HCCI-motorns kanaler har studerats.? Avgasrörets dimension och dess påverkan på motor prestanda har undersöktsgenom att prova olika utformningar på avgasröret.? Today, maintenance is a big part of the daily life on board ships. It is also one of the bigger expenses a shipping company has and without any loss of quality tries to run as economically advantageous as possible. In the hunt for economical savings the shore-based industry has subsequently applied the use of condition based maintenance, CBM, were a component is maintained according to its actual state. This leads to a reduction of maintenance costs since no parts are unnecessarily replaced. However, within the maritime sector a periodical maintenance is still the most commonly used maintenance system.The purpose of this paper is to chart the factors that are the reason for the low implementation of CBM on board the Swedish merchant fleet's ships.

Huvudsyftet med fallstudien är att utreda hur kundanpassningen påverkar den interna effektiviseringen av ett produktionsflöde i en tillverkande verksamhet.En nulägesanalys utfördes för att etablera nuläget och analysera den, fokus låg därefter på packningsoperationen, vilket är operationen närmast kundönskemålen. Författarna påbörjade därefter att arbeta med Kata genom att sätta upp ett måltillstånd, detta visar vart företaget är idag och vart de vill vara inom cirka en månads tid. Genom att arbeta med ett effektivt experimenteringsverktyg kallat PDCA-uppföljningsblankett, måltillståndet var uppnått inom tidsperioden och resultatet blev följande:- Leveransen gick på en pall istället för fyra stycken.- Packningstiden reducerades med 60 %.- Kontrolltiden hos kunden reducerades med 30-40 %.Detta visar att metoden och arbetssättet är mycket effektivt..

Issues regarding the environment are commonly discussed in the media. The most common problem that is discussed is how to decrease the emissions of greenhouse gases by human beings. The municipality of Kristianstad has chosen to work with a project named ?Biogas Kristianstad? which purposes are to use all of the produced biogas as motor fuel and to speed up the introduction of biogas on the local market. This is in an effort to decrease the effects on the environment in the municipality of Kristianstad.

De flesta kommuner i Sverige arbetar idag på något sätt för att minska biltrafiken. Så även Göteborgs stad som menar att ?biltrafiken ska minska till förmån för resande med kollektivtrafik och cykel?. Upp till hälften av restiden med kollektivtrafik tillbringas på bytespunkten, ändå är det en plats som lätt glöms bort. Syftet med den här uppsatsen har varit att undersöka vilka aspekter som påverkar bytespunktens attraktivitet samt att genomföra en fallstudie på två bytespunkter i Göteborg.

Our digital society encompasses nowadays different channels, which includes social media where many users consider it as a platform where they can fetch news or exchange news and information. This leads to a large spread of news exchange in a very fast speed, which involves the global users within social media to be a part of this social interaction. This study is focused on how Twitter affects the usage of the user?s news consumption. By reaching out to our specific target audience, which includes Twitter users in Sweden, we made a web based survey with a content of relevant questions.

The spread of digital photography has created major changes in the previously stable Swedish photofinishing market. We investigate how companies act to survive in the face of technological change, through our research question: What strategies have actors in the photofinishing business chosen during the changeover from analog to digital photofinishing? Using a deductive method, we have conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 actors in the photofinishing business. Innovation management studies innovation from a number of perspectives, describing effects of innovations on the competitive ability of established actors, and on the value of their resources. The companies were not prepared for the speed of the change.

The aim of the present study was to investigate response time variations in tasks for assessment of high level language functions and how response time is related to education, age and gender. Response time is defined as the time to complete a task after it has been presented. 103 subjects, aged 20 to 80 years, were tested with the Assessment of Subtle Language Disorders, Sentence analysis and Morphological completion. The subtest Comprehension of ambiguous sentences showed the longest response time and Morphological completion the shortest. Correlations were found between increasing age and longer response time for Comprehension of metaphors and between education and response time for several subtests.

Nötcenter Viken is a Swedish nucleus herd for dairy cattle. The goal for the farm is to select suitable mothers for the next top generation of bulls. Today the selection for udder health is based on a pedigree index and phenotype data. The pedigree index is based on the cow?s father and grandfathers breeding values.
