The main purpose of this essay is to study how classroom interaction can take place in a class for Second Language Learners (SLL).1 I have applied a case study methodology on a linguistic method used by a Teacher in Swedish as Second Language working on a primary school situated in the Southern suburbs of Stockholm. The learning method is based on extensive reading of books which comprehend several learning techniques organized into a process that support the development of linguistic skills such as discussing in a group, writing, reading and thinking in a second language. The methodology applied is based on observations, on an interview with a Teacher in Swedish as Second Language and on a questionnaire answered by 11 students that participated on ?Boksamtal?.Based on a theoretical framework about socio cultural theories on learning and scaffolding,2 I attempt to integrate theory and practice to investigate how the Teacher succeed on applying effective methods for second language learning. Through the analyses of the data is also my intention to emphasize the advantages and disadvantages of such a method.

This study departs from Gállok, an area 40 kilometres northwest of the city Jokkmokk, in northern Sweden. This is a place to which local people and Saami reindeer herders have material interests and emotional bonds. The mining company JIMAB wants to prospect for extracting minerals from this area. In the summer of 2013 local people, Saamis and environmental activists gathered in Gállok in order to protest and make resistance against these plans. Activism was made, debate articles were written, demonstrations were organized and information about what was going on in Gállok was shared through social media.The aim of this study is to examine the cultural processes of the anti-mining movement, in particular the happenings in Gállok in summer 2013.

This basic data of knowledge for a future maintenance programme concerning the park at Kungsholmen is made up of 3 separate parts. 1.) A historical documentation 2.) A mapping and documentation of the objects status of today. 3.) An analytical evaluation complemented by a maintenanceproposal for the historic park. SAMMANFATTNINGIntroduktion: Statistiska centrabyrån (SBC) prognostiserar en växande andel utlandsfödda bland Sveriges befolkning. Detta medför en ökad kulturell mångfald i det svenska samhället och därmed fler tvärkulturella möten inom vården. Denna studie sökte att utforska primärvårdssjuksköterskors upplevelser av möten med patienter från utomskandinaviska kulturer, vilka svårigheter de kan stöta på samt vilka aspekter de upplever som viktiga vid vårdandet av dessa patienter.Metod: En kvalitativ intervjustudie med deskriptiv design. Åtta primärvårdssjuksköterskor som arbetar på olika vårdcentraler i Stockholmsområdet och som har erfarenhet av kontakt med patienter från andra kulturer än den skandinaviska intervjuades med en semi-strukturerad intervjuguide. Innehållsanalys enligt Graneheim & Lundman användes för att analysera data.Resultat: Primärvårdssjuksköterskor upplever dessa möten som spännande, utmanande och lärorika.

How can man´s place preferences be explained? What aspects influence our experience of place? This essay attempts to define a good place to be drawing from sources of environmental psychology as well as other landscape theories and relating these findings to the landscape architect?s field of work. Physical place properties, like physical elements and their juxtaposition in space are examined in relation to place preferences as well as psychological properties, such as place attachment and place identity due to cultural or social aspects.There are strong cross-cultural similarities in our place preferences but there are also some differences. Natural elements, like trees or water, are widely preferred over man-made ones, like buildings, roads or fences.Man seems to be sensitive for the balance between different place characteristics, like the balance between ?soft?, natural, elements and ?hard? man-made ones or the complexity versus the legibility of place.

This study analyses social age as a phenomenon and if unaccompanied refugee children has a social age that, according to the Swedish culture, do not correspond with their biological age and if so is, the reason for that. Furthermore, our study has discussed the potential consequences of the effects for the unaccompanied refugee children and the social age when interacting with Swedish society. According to our study, the social age is effected by other factors besides cultural norms, values and role expectations that a society has on a specific biological age. The results in this study shows that social age is a vital component to someone?s identity.

?A culture center should be visually welcoming as well as attract a diverse range of visitors with different backgrounds.? This was the client?s request for a new cultural center in Nairobi. The location is in the heart of Nairobi?s industrial area, near several existing buildings that are already in use by the culture organization known as Go Down. I have chosen to keep most of the existing buildings and to use my new building as a complement for the desired program.
