The study's starting point is the cultural, economic, social and health which is relevant when different levels of society affirms. The aim has been the basis of the representation levels of society discern what is valued and given priority as well as the measures and the strategies used in implementation. The empirical data underlying the study is qualitative studies with respondents from a university, a hospital, a school, the Swedish Embassy and an organization in order to create an image of different levels in society means to implement preventive measures on HIV and AIDS to their citizens. The result demonstrates that there are clear shortcomings in its implementation guidance on prevention measures for HIV and AIDS as lack of resources is based.
Vad är ett riktigt slut? : en kritisk granskning av genrepedagogiken i arbetet med sagogenren
With this paper the aim is to find out whether there are any differences in how five students from the north part of Africa structures their tales in comparison with the Nordic tale "The emperor?s new clothes". The purpose is to look at how the genre pedagogy can be said to relate to these differences. What happens to the "deviant" structures?Based on literature and research on the subject, I have concluded that there are certain patterns of how a tale "should" be structured based on Western standards.
På Kungsbäck blir alla Gävlebor : - En fallstudie av ledarskap och kulturkrockar
Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera och analysera lärare och studenter med olika kulturella bakgrunder på Högskolan i Gävle för att undersöka om kulturkrockar uppstår studenter emellan samt mellan studenter och lärare. En ytterligare aspekt var även att utröna lärarnas ledarstilar.Metod: Vi har valt att genomföra en kvalitativ fallstudie, där det empiriska materialet baseras på nio intervjuer med lärare och studenter på Högskolan i Gävle, samt två egna observationer. Sekundärdata har insamlats genom relevant litteratur och artiklar inom ämnesområdet som ligger till grund för den teoretiska referensramen.Resultat och slutsats: Vi har kommit fram till att högskolans lärare är medvetna om att kulturella skillnader råder, men att de trots detta inte gör något för att lösa eventuella problem som uppstår. Då det råder en saknad av mer auktoritär ledarstil ges vissa studenter möjlighet att utnyttja högskolans system. Vidare har vi kunnat dra den slutsats att färre studenter i framtiden kan komma att välja Högskolan i Gävle som sitt lärosäte om högskoleledningen inte åtgärdar de problem som finns.Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Vi tycker att det vore intressant om denna studie utfördes på en annan högskola i Sverige för att se vilket resultat som skulle utrönas där.

My thesis is an attempt to clarify the purpose and workings of art in relation to the artist, his/her fellows and society. Can art be considered as a uniting force? If so, where does its unifying quality lie? How does art connect with the individual, the community and society? My interpretation of the political climate regarding the arts has resulted in an exploration of the question: What role does art have in society today?The artistic ego as an altruism ? within the title of this thesis lies an absolute paradox ? a paradox that through this paper is tested, reviewed and demonstrated as a way of describing art and its workings. Förflutna landskap idag : en diskussion om begreppet landskap
The first part of this essay focuses on how we relate to the landscape at the international and the national level today. The landscape convention is presented and compared to actual current Swedish policies. Different definitions of landscape are discussed. The second part renders the landscape in different archaeological contexts. The central theme is the attempt to investigate if and how we can approach prehistoric man by looking at the landscape as a socially constructed concept.
Svenskt projektledarskap i multikulturella grupper : är en anpassning nödvändig?
Background: Having chosen to take a degree in international business, we have had many opportunities to meet people from different cultures. These encounters have, we believe, made our lives richer, but they have not always been problem-free. When different cultures come together, the differences inevitably become apparent. Being among friends, one can maybe laugh at these differences or it may be a good opportunity to get people to talk to each other, taking the time to explain why they do things a certain way. Being at work and experience these differences might not at all have the same ice-breaking effect - rather the opposite sometimes.

This paper deals with the question: "Why does the U.S. aid project to cambat HIV/AIDS in Africa, called PEPFAR, use a strategy that has been shown to be couterproductive?" The author uses an anthropological approach, based on theory of "aid as a gift" inspired by work of Mauss and Stirrat& Henkel. The study demonstrates that the interests that lie behind PEPFAR have had a greater influence on the choice of strategy than the declared goals. It is concluded that evaluations of development assistance should focus as much on the background interests of the givers as the declared objectives..

This thesis has aimed to study steering process and institutionalization in the context of educational policy work. This has been conducted by using empirical material from the political decision-making process that preceded the implementation of a new national program on how principals should be educated and certified. By using an aggregated theoretical point of view containing new institutionalism and traditional Swedish curriculum theory, the process was analyzed from different perspectives. The results depict a process that contained several actors who tried to shape the principal education program differently. From the theoretical perspectives, the decision-making process could be understood as an act of both self-interest as well as trust in their own beliefs and cultural values.
Trelleborgen : om bruket av en borg i upplevelsemarknadens kulturarvsproduktion
De senaste årens kulturarvsdiskussioner har präglats av sambandet mellan kulturarv och regional utveckling. Utgångspunkten för denna uppsats är en upplevelseanläggning; den så kallade Trelleborgen i den sydskånska staden Trelleborg. Borgen är en rekonstruktion av en fjärdedels ringborg som man funnit spår av i samband med uppdragsutgrävningar under slutet av 1980-talet.Uppsatsen belyser ett exempel på kulturarvsproduktion, där stora resurser satsas i investeringsprojekt kopplade till kulturarv. This study aims to find out what happens with the roles that are seemingly left behind. Are there roles that are harder or easier to exercise? Available roles with us through life and affect our future decisions or we switched completely away from them and create new roles based on the situations we find ourselves in at the moment? The aim is also to see how the relationship looks like between closed roles and new roles in life. To try to find this out, I have used the narrative method. The study is based largely on Goffman's theories of roles, behind and above the front- and back stage.

The purpose of this essay has been to seek understanding of how young people in high school and adult education experience the use of educational media tools in teaching. Examples of questions submitted material has been: What are the positive and negative experiences of ICT in the classroom?The essay is of a qualitative nature, in which five students were interviewed about their experiences of ICT in the school environment. The result is analyzed from a sociocultural perspective and from an inward-student perspective.The results showed that students felt that it was difficult to absorb many of the ICT facilities as sources of knowledge in the school environment. Kulturarvsdigitalisering : Skiljer sig praktiken från teorin?
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the similarities and differences between best practice literature regarding digitization and an existing cultural heritage digitization project. It also aims to determine whether this literature is of any help during an actual project of digitization. These results were achieved by examining literature regarding best practices in digitization and analyzing how well an actual project correlates to this advice. The information about the Digidaily project was obtained through two qualitative interviews as well as the project blog. The outcome of our research showed that although there are a great many similarities between theory and practice, the project in question was not helped by literature.
