Modellering av hydrauliskt aktuatorsystem
This report treats a Master Thesis performed at Scania CV AB. The task was to create a computer model of a hydraulic actuator system in the software AVL Hydsim. The system consists of two spring-loaded masses with surrounding hydraulic components. The purpose of the model is to study phenomenon and problems in the system, as well as to be a support in the development of the system. It is not supposed to be used to study absolute values in its current form.
Vår utvecklingsprocess - designaspekter på ett befintligt webbsystem
Den här rapporten är ett resultat av ett kandidatarbete på 20-poäng. Projektet
som rapporten handlar om, beskriver hur utvecklingen av ett webbutikssystem åt
ett flertal företag gått till. De har i sin tur köpt webbsystemet från
företaget Opti Use som givit oss uppgiften. I rapporten diskuteras hur
utvecklingsprocessen gått till och hur ett arbete med ett befintligt system
upplevts. Rapporten beskriver även hur lösningen på uppgiften har tagit form
och hur utvecklingsprocessen påverkat den.
Låt det förflutna tillhöra det förflutna : En studie om datorspel, socialt välbefinnande och kunskapsmässig utveckling
This study investigates the effects that commercial computer games have on young individuals social comfort and learning progress. As a systematic study of literature, scholarly articles have been analysed in order to illuminate the positive as well as negative effects on social comfort and learning progress that may come with playing computer games. The social effects have mainly been discussed with role-playing games, such as World of Warcraft, as starting point, while the learning effects have been coupled with strategy games, such as Civilization IV. The study does not simply declare how these games can be good for these factors, but also in what respect computer games may prevent the development of young individuals socials skills and learning progress. The study showed that in spite of perpetual prejudices against computer games in the technological age, computer games might actually be good to use as a tool in order to authorize the development of young individuals regarding learning and social aspects.
Hälsa och datorkonsumtion bland pojkar i årskurs nio : En komparativ tvärsnittsstudie
The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of computer consumption among boys in ninth grade, and to see if there were any differences with regards to physical activity, sleeping habits, breakfast habits and BMI. The study has cross sectional design with a comparative and a quantitative structure and is based on a former study called ?Food & Health 2007?. The respondents were represented by 181 boys in ninth grade, recruited from ten different schools in the county of Uppsala, who were answering questions about media consumption, breakfast habits, physical activity and sleeping habits. Daily computer consumption was reported up to one hour for 12 % of the respondents, one to three hours for 65 % and over three hours for 42 %. The boys who had a high physical activity level were less frequent in computer consumption while those who had a low physical activity level spent more time by the computer.
Datorbaserad examination: En studie om användarhinder och systemacceptans bland lärare
The aim of this thesis is to examine how teachers use computer based assessment in their work and what user barriers they experience while working with computer based assessments. The result of the thesis is meant to provide an understanding of which factors affect the use of computer based assessments and how a company who provide computer based assessments applications can increase the rate of use amongst teachers.To investigate this, the author examined a company in Sweden who provide a computer based assessment application for both universities and high schools. The study was carried out at two different schools, a university and a high school, both located in Stockholm. In total nine teachers were interviewed. The author also conducted observations at the company whose computer based assessment application was examined.The author?s findings suggest that a lack of functions within the application and lack of costumer support from the company all negatively impacted the teacher?s use of the application.
Standardisering av förpackningar på HABO AB
This thesis project has been written and accomplished in cooperation with HABO AB. The objective of the project was to develop a standard stated packaging system. The background to this is that HABO is not pleased with the system currently in use. The system which HABO is currently using consists of to many sizes. The largest benefit of a standard stated system is that it becomes much easier to organize the packaging with the aid of a computer program.
Bokningssystem för gemensamhetsresurser via TV
This thesis describes the process of developing a reservation system for common resources through a TV-interface. The system is developed in cooperation with the company Dreampark and is built to work in their platform for TV, Dreamgallery. The main goal was to develop a reservation system and to make it work with Dreamgallery, to develop a demonstration version of the system. The thesis describes the approach for developing an easy-to-use and customisable program and interface for making reservations. How this is inserted into an existing program in a suitable way.

This report is an examination paper in computer science at University of Växjö. The report will focus on the possibility to create adaptable systems and to cost calculate the work needed to modify a system to meet new demands. A project [demos] developed by Interactive Institute studio [12-21] in Växjö is the starting point in our work. They have during a period of two years developed a prototype of a system which intends to get youth and democratic selected representatives a communication platform where they may communicate with SMS. Today they are in a position when they want to develop the system for other user groups with slighter different purpose and to do that they need a more flexible system.

This thesis examines how a company can get an effective, high quality,
maintenance of their computerized systems. After literary studies concerning
the life cycle activity Maintenance we have studied how the maintenance at the
department IT Supply of IKEA IT AB in Älmhult is carried out. What steps and
measures in the analyzing of results of changes are carried out and if they
have predefined processes for changes.
Based on the facts we found most important in our literary studies we have
created a model and theoretically applied this to the maintenance of a specific
system to see what they can work with to further improve the quality and
efficiency in their maintenance.
The basis for our thesis is literary studies and the collected material has
been used as a foundation for the research at the company, which was carried
out through interviews.
This thesis is based on the question: ?How do the lack of a model for
maintenance and the lack of orientation affect the maintenance in a company??.

This essay covers computer gaming as seen from a perspective of gender theory. The main purpose of the essay is to examine women?s relationship to computer games, and more specifically women?s attitudes to the games they play. The theoretical basis for this essay is sprung from a hermeneutic perspective. The empirical basis for analysis consists of two in depth interviews and game analysis of the two computer games Counter Strike and Final Fantasy XI.

This bachelor thesis includes two different manuals and design of an interface box between a test object and a general test station (computer) with ARINC429 communication.There are three different purposes with this project:The first is to setup a general test station with ARINC429 communication using a communications card from DDC (DD-42916i3-300) and software from Ampol Technologies (dataSIMS).The second is to design a new interface between the test computer and the test object. As well as implementing two components in the equipment.The third is to write two separate manuals to guide the users of this equipment. There are two different kinds of users of this equipment, technicians and system engineers. Technicians use the equipment to test and repair flight components. As companies grow, their need for computing power will increase, which traditionally resulted in companies having to invest in more IT resources. Now, with cloud computing, companies can easily hire computer power over the Internet, on-demand. Cloud computing offers a highly scalable environment where companies can store data and host their services. This paper employs a qualitative study with interviews and literature studies to explore opportunities and challenges associated with cloud computing from a system developer perspective. The aim of the paper is to find out how cloud computing changes the conditions for system development. The paper contributes with four different opportunities and challenges that the system developer must handle to succeed in the world of cloud computing.
Att vinna eller försvinna när alla får varsin dator : En-till-en-satsningar och dess inverkan på delaktighet, självbild och lärande för gymnasieelever i behov av särskilt stöd
The purpose of this study was to investigate how high school students felt that the computer helped or hindered participation and self-esteem in the learning situation and if the students experienced any differences between when they had been relatively alone in using a computer compared to when everyone had their own computer. The starting point was the national one-to-one projects made to give every student access to a personal computer and how it affected students in special educational needs and previous research. The theoretical approach was based on socioculture/activity theory and theories of self-esteem. Ten high school students in grade one at a senior high school that previously had started up a one-to-one project was interviewed. The results showed that the students primarily used the computer to write and to search the Internet, but even as a alternative or compensatory tool.
Algebra i gymnasieskolan : En jämförelse mellan innehållet i läroböcker i Sverige och Iran
Studien handlar om algebra i läroböcker för dagens gymnasieskola. Studien vill också ge förståelse för vilka av ländernas läroböcker som stämmer överens med dagens forskning för att lära skoleleverna att lättare förstå algebran. Uppsatsen finner många skillnader mellan Irans och Sveriges läroböcker genom att studera algebran i dessa läroböcker. De största skillnaderna är att Sverige har ett styrdokument för matematikkurserna men Iran har inte sådana dokument. Ett viktigt delmoment i svenska läroböcker i jämförelse med Irans läroböcker ligger i första hand på användningen av miniräknare och grafräknare.
