This thesis investigates three different surface modifications, and the route to design and synthesize them. The thesis is therefore divided into three sub- projects. (i.) Design and synthesis of a peptide which secondary structure could be controlled by a negatively charged surface. (ii.) Design and synthesis of a cyclic peptide, that would self-organize prior to surface interaction, using the type I anti-freeze protein of a winter flounder as template. (iii.) This report describes the work with creating a CMS (Content Manager System). A CMS is a web tool so you easy can publish materials on your web page. With a CM Scan you can without any knowledge of programming web pages create and maintain a web page. This will result in that you and your organisation save time and money. You can also split the responsibility for the webpage in different roles, but still keep the control. We have chosen to create our CMS in a script language called php4 and with the database server MySQL, we have also used JavaScript a lot.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera open design för att ge ett alternativt perspektiv på industridesign. Open design handlar om en designprocess där vem som helst kan delta, utveckla och tillverka produkter. Metoden har sin grund i open source-rörelsen som hastigt spreds i och med internets utbredning. Open design är dock inte lika välutvecklat då rådande marknads- och företagssystem till viss del hämmar detta.

This project investigates the cooperation between architect and engineer. The context of the investigation is the design of buildings for a sustainable society. The goal of the project is to further the development of the sustainable built society by increasing the knowledge of the interdisciplinary cooperation between these two fields. The focus is a close cooperation already from the start of a project. Mobile technology is developing quickly and becomming a part of daily life and communication. Bluetooth Low Energy is presented as a new way of mobile interaction. However there are not enough studies in this field on the interaction between mobile devices and the physical world. In order to understand user needs, and to encourage users to interact, we simulated an interaction process through designing and testing a prototype in a specific indoor environment. Thesenorms may cause feelings of guilt and shame in women who have an abortion. The abortion rightis built upon conflicting standpoints; one is that women have right to have an abortion, withoutbeing questioned. Second is the notion that abortion is something that should be avoided, implyingthat you?ve done something wrong if you have had an abortion.With this project and physical product I want to explore and discuss the contemporary discourseon abortion in Sweden.

The government presents the digital agenda within which information and communication technology today is considered to have a potential for sustainability, growth and development. According to the EU Commission, there are several important elements that should be improved to digitize the workplace. Among these are digital literacy, collaboration between agencies and increased investments in research, education and innovation. New technology can be understood in different ways by individuals, some see the computer as something positive and exciting, while others may find it hard to see the opportunities for learning and development.

Denna rapport behandlar en fältstudie genomförd på en kommunal teknisk förvaltning samt en analys av studiematerialet. En tekniklösning på konceptuell nivå arbetas fram. Metoder och synsätt för fältstudien beskrivs samt relationer till forskningsområden som CSCW och CSCL. Problembilden som kommer fram rör en åldrande personalkår där kunskap och erfarenhet önskas ta till vara. Kompetensutveckling och informationsspridning ligger högt på önskelistan hos personalen.

Denna examensrapport redogör för en utvecklingsprocess av en webbasserad släktforskningsapplikation, där resultat från släktforskning kan delas av flera aktiva släktforskare. Genom att grundligt undersöka olika datamodeller och befintliga applikationer försöker arbetet säkerställa grunden till en unktionell webbapplikation. Arbetet ledde till en betaversion med begränsad funktionalitet som skall vidareutvecklas i framtiden till ett GNU/GPL projekt med öppen källkod för gratis användning och nerladdning. In this bachelor thesis we have studied how interaction designers describe their profession. The research material is based on nine interviews with interaction designers. Questions cover areas such as interaction design tasks, what abilities they consider important, how they describe their relationship to the users, and cooperation with colleagues. We have analyzed the results using key terms such as habitus, field, and capital, as described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The interviewees express humanistic views, and ask for more cooperation between interaction designers, as well as other people within the field of IT production.

The report begins with a general inventory of possible technical faults in a hydropower plant and of possible fault indicating measurements. Then an investigation is made concerning a few different faults. Based on this investigation a choice on seal box condition and water leakage is made as problem for a more thorough examination, in which it is concluded that the turbine water leakage is larger when the turbine is put into operation. The examination ultimately results in a computer alarm for faults related to the seal box. This study concerns a selection of prehistoric metal objects of animalistic design, published at the internet site of the Swedish Statens Historiska Museum. It seeks to give an impression of the design elements used, and to find likely models for the motifs among live animals. The method used is a qualitative hermenuetic comparative study of objects, where the distinct significant design elements are being identified and interpretated. Several significant design elements are identified, and some are interpretated as representing certain animals. The amalgamation of differentiating design elements in some objects however, leads to interpretations of compound animal motifs, where some motifs are considered ambiguous and some are rendered uninterpretated.

Många små- och medelstora företag har idag en hemsida. För att en hemsida skall vara ett effektivt kommunikationsmedium med kunder krävs dock att den är uppdaterad. Vi anser att många företag ej förutser vilka resurser som krävs för att hålla sidan uppdaterad. Vi vill därför kartlägga vilka problem företag i dagsläget upplever att de har med sitt uppdateringsarbete. Vi vill därefter se om det finns en möjlig lösning i verktyget Smelink WEB ifrån Smelink AB, som säger sig underlätta webbnärvaron för denna typ av företag. För att undersöka ovanstående frågeställning har vi valt att gå ut med en enkätundersökning rörande hur uppdateringsarbetet går till i två grupper av företag. Den ena företagsgruppen använder sig utav Smelinks verktyg och i den andra företagsgruppen vet vi ej hur uppdateringsarbetet går till. Då vi sammanställt resultatet kunde vi konstatera att det ej fanns några omfattande problem rörande uppdateringsarbetet hos de företag som vi undersökt.
