The main purpose of my essay is to inquire into the situation in the preparatory classes. The focus of interest in the essay is to see how new arrived pupils/children from Iraq integrate in the new school environment, foreign culture and what difficulties they come across during their period at the preparatory class. Such as language difficulties and how they manage with the traumatic memories from the war and the effect of that in their learning.I choose to do a qualitative survey and taking part in observing a preparatory class to see how they work. Thereafter, to see from a different perspective and understand the pupils more and perhaps go deeper with some questions I choose to interview some of the pupils. The responds I received gave me a more comprehensible idea of the struggle these children have been through and still go through in a daily basis.The result of this study illustrates the character of a preparatory class, and the central factors that occur in their education.

In this study environmental work in the Swedish hotel chain "Scandic" is investigated. Earlier studies point out sustainability and different environmental certificate programs as essential for the housing sector to contribute to sustainable tourism. The purpose and willingness to fulfill such a mission has been investigated by interviewing central actors in the hotel chain. The result shows that there is a desire to be part of environmental certificate programs mainly for the reason to be part of the system and not for the benefit of nature. Sustainable development is understood as being environmentally friendly. Different solutions to adapt and being more environmentally friendly is discussed.

I dagens skola finns det många elever som är i behov av särskilda stödinsatser i form av ett åtgärds-program. I vår strävan efter en skola för alla bör och ska ett åtgärdsprogram fylla en central funktion i elevens och skolans utveckling. Vårt syfte är att undersöka den synliga sidan av åtgärdsprogrammet, hur man arbetar och upprättar åtgärdsprogram på två skolor i Mellansverige. För att få svar på våra ställda frågor har vi valt att använda oss av den kvalitativa metoden, både i analysavsnittet och intervjuavsnittet. Resultatet i vår undersökning visar på att åtgärdsprogrammen i många fall är likriktade och statiska, samma åtgärder och målsättningar upprättas för elever i behov av särskilt stöd.

The purpose of this study is to understand and get increased knowledge about what it means to see artists as brands. What are the typical assets and what kind of advantages and disadvantages are distinctive when it comes to applying a brand perspective on artists. Brands are an important part of our lives today, and the benefit of seeing a company as a brand has made that not only big companies are interested in building brands. Beyond companies even persons now want to become brands. The new perspective in seeing persons as brands is interesting and something that made us curious to investigate.

AbstractPurpose: The purpose of this study was to see if there was any correlation between BMI and chronic pain among participants who underwent a behavioural medicine rehabilitation program at a pain clinic in the central part of Sweden. Method: The study was conducted as a quantitative descriptive study context and has used medical records with documented data from the participants who were part of a pain clinic rehabilitation programs in the years 2004-2005. Altogether there were 76 participants in these years and excluded was nine participants with BMI measurements were not included in the documentation. Main Results: Regarding the relationship between BMI and chronic pain there was no significant relationships. Participants who completed the behavioural medicine rehabilitation program, however, showed a lower value of BMI and the estimated pain in VAS from the first to the third which is the last time of measuring.

The world is increasingly coalescing, ecologically, economically and culturally. Many problems can no longer be solved within the own state borders and the limitation of the territorial state is obvious. Jürgen Habermas means that a world domestic politic without a world government is what this progress need. Therefore it is important that national interests become less central and the solidarity between people is given priority in international relations. The focus of this thesis is therefore a critical discourse analysis of the current position of the internationalisation of Swedish security and defence policy.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka diskursen om urbanitet i tidskrift Arkitektur mellan åren 1989-1994. Relevant för undersökningen är planeringsmodellen kvarterstad och begreppsparen privat-offentligt, vilka belyser olika sätt som diskursen om urbanitet gestaltade sig på i stadsbyggnadsdiskussionen. Analysen visar hur historiska idealbilder och problembilder var central för konstruktionen av urbanitet. Förorten och modernismen fick funktionen av motbilder till samtidens ideal, inramade av en kontext om den ?upplösta staden?.

The essay concerns "the knowledge society", IT and the possibilities of school being changedto meet the future. The purpose was to reflect the ideas of researchers and authorities concerningwork and education in "the knowledge society" and to illuminate/shed light on theimportance of information technology in this connection, to map organizational and pedagogicalshortcomings in the current school system and the changes that can be needed, and to investigatehow these changes can affect teachers, pupils and librarians.The investigation, which was a text analysis of normative and futurist sources, was especiallydirected towards how modem information technology can influence education/teaching.The differences between researchers and authorities were most obvious in the view of theimportance of knowledge of facts and central control mechanisms for standards or grading.For the authorities, who were devoid of a thought out/carefully prepared and consequent viewof knowledge and by that also of pedagogics, the information technique was the foremostcause of a change in pedagogy. The researchers also perceived the possibilities of IT, butemphasized the importance of pedagogical innovations irrespective of the technology.

Tidigare i år har en del av Migrationsverkets ansvar för de ensamkommande barnen förlagts till kommuner som har skrivit under ett avtal med verket. Detta för att dessa barn ska få den bästa möjliga hanteringen av sina ärenden och för att lyfta på trycket som finns hos Migrationsverket. Vi vill i denna uppsats se hur denna fördelning har gjorts och vilka ansvarsområden som tillhör de olika parterna. Vi vill se hur de sköter denna process i förhållande till barnens rättigheter, barnkonventionen och den svenska lagen. För att få den bästa möjliga informationen har vi använt oss av den kvalitativa metoden.

Delaktighet och inflytande i arbetslivet är en central bestämningsfaktor för anställdas hälsa. För att medarbetare ska kunna bli delaktiga och påverka på arbetsplatsen identifierades chefers ledarskap som en nyckelfaktor för att det ska bli möjligt. Genom att chefer delegerade uppgifter och beslut till medarbetarna samt förde en ständig dialog, främjades medarbetarnas delaktighet. Syftet med studien var att undersöka chefernas uppfattning om sitt ledarskap som gjort att de uppnått hög delaktighet bland sina medarbetare. Som metod användes en empirisk design med kvalitativ ansats och telefonintervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod.

The purpose of this essay is to study how the local creators of a "master plan" for the swedish city Kristinehamn, the years between 1940 to -43, looked on their planning. It is an analysis of ideas case study. A hypothesis is upheld for the research: that the local physical planning had largely extended ambitions what regards central state control in a way that is similar to planned economy. Questions that are asked include: Was the planning assumed to be a tool for the state to regulate the environment? Can the planning be seen as a mean to control the society in time and space? The essay search for verification of the hypothesis by a theoretical analysis apparatus made upp of ideal types.

During the last two years Gothenburg has become a central point in Sweden foractivists in the area of disability. The essay explores which strategies that activist usesin purpose to pay attention to and criticize the Normate. By doing so, five cripactivists have been interviewed about their experiences and feelings about how theymanage to stand up against different types of power relations. The activists describehow they develop different strategies to change their identity positions and takecontrol over themselves.The essay intends to contribute with a crip theoretic view in combination withmaterial feminisms and resistance theory. The conclusions of the essay shows that thenormate is incorporated in both social and material matter and how the activist?s usesthe strategy Critical Disability to negotiate their identity position.
