Leisure boats of today have a lot of electronics that needs battery power to work. In additionto that electric propulsion systems have gotten more popular lately, which further increasesthe demand for high battery capacity. The batteries used are mostly lead-acid batteries and toget the most out of the batteries it is important to treat them right. To optimize the electricsystem it is important to have knowledge of how the batteries and the electric motor are usedand which factors affect e.g. efficiency and recharging.A new electric drive that can replace old diesel engines is being developed and needs testingand evaluation.

This study investigates the individual usage of the Dublin Core metadata format in three Swedish Subject Based Information Gateways, SAFARI, Svenska miljönätet and Svesök. The authors also present the reader with an overview of the metadata concept and explains in particular the Dublin Core Element Set. The approach to the study is investigation of Dublin Core application from the viewpoint of three major issues, user friendliness, interoperability and quality control. The study includes an in-depth comparison of the three different metadata templates, as well as interviews with people in charge of the metadata production at the respective SBIGs and users of the respective SBIGs« templates. The study shows that the three SBIGs are more similar than they are different.

The aim of this study was to investigate how mothers in families with strong patriarchal traditionssee their role as a mother and as a woman. The study is built upon two main questions: What arethe expectations of your family and your immediate environment on you as a mother and as awoman? And what does ?honour? mean for you as a mother and as a woman? In our paper wehad as a starting point a gender perspective that was further on applied in defining our researchquestion. We are also giving an account of the phenomenological perspective that we also had asa basis of our work. We interviewed six mothers living in families with strong patriarchaltraditions.

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to examine how some larger Swedish public libraries reason about the use of social media as part of their activities and outreach. To attain the purpose three research-questions were established; why does the public library use social media? How does the public library utilize social media? What extra value do librarians believe that use of social media can add to the libraries? function? The methodology used in the thesis is qualitative interviews. Six interviews were conducted with librarians in charge of social media at their respective libraries. Five of the interviews were conducted by telephone and one by email.

När ens barn får en diagnos som är livslång, hamnar de flesta föräldrar ien kris (Fyhr, 2002). I samband med ny utredning aktualiseras ochförstärks ofta föräldrarnas kris. Frågeställningar i denna uppsats handlarom hur man kan uppmärksamma föräldrarnas reaktioner när deras barnredan har en diagnos (synnedsättning) och som i en andra fas utreds förtill exempel autistiskt syndrom eller mental retardation. Uppsatsensempiriska del grundar sig på en intervjustudie med sex föräldrar till barnmed synnedsättning och som gjort ytterligare en utredning som lett framtill en ny diagnos. Materialet bearbetades kvalitativt utifrån principerna iGrounded theory (Langemar, 2009).

The purpose of this thesis is to explore pupils' motivation for participating in Physical Education. The thesis also investigates the definitions of sport and health and to what extent pupils make any connection between the school subject physical education and their own physical and health status. A semi-structured interview was carried out with thirteen upper secondary school pupils with special needs on the Individual Programme. The interviews were recorded digitally and then analyzed. The results show that there is no unified definition of the school subject among the pupils.

Obstruktivt sömnapnésyndrom (OSAS) innebär upprepade andningsuppehåll under natten tillsammans med extrem dagen efter-trötthet. Fortfarande finns det många personer med ett odiagnostiserat OSAS. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur personer med obstruktivt sömnapnésyndrom upplever sin livskvalitet. I metoden har 18 artiklar bearbetats. Resultatet visar på en försämrad livskvalitet hos personer med OSAS.

Tvångssyndrom är en psykisk sjukdom som ca 2 % av världens befolkning lever med och som visar sig som tvångstankar eller tvångstankar och tvångshandlingar. Den ångest som ligger bakom tvångssyndromet lindras med hjälp av tvångshandlingar. Då sjuksköterskan i sitt yrke kommer att träffa personer med tvångssyndrom är det viktigt med förståelse om hur vardagen ser ut för personer med tvångssyndrom och hur de upplever sitt syndrom.I denna litteraturstudie, vars syfte var att öka sjuksköterskans kunskaper kring de komplexa situationer som kan uppstå vid omvårdnaden av personer med tvångssyndrom genom att belysa erfarenheter av den levda vardagen hos personer med tvångssyndrom, har 12 artiklar varav 4 kvalitativa och 8 kvantitativa systematiskt granskats och analyserats.Resultatet visar att personer med tvångssyndrom lever med en låg livskvalitet i förhållande till personer utan tvångssyndrom. En försämrad livskvalitet påverkar personens vardagliga liv genom att negativt påverka relationer, arbete och utbildning.För att ytterligare öka förståelsen för personer med tvångssyndrom rekommenderas ytterligare kvalitativ forskning om personers upplevelser. Att nå ut till sjuksköterskestudenter och verksamma sjuksköterskor med resultatet av ny forskning är av stor vikt.

This Master's thesis aims at pinpointing the political arguments that appear in the recent debate on scientific publication. There is a widely spread opinion that prices on digital resources are far too high, thus taking up a major part of the University libraries budget, while publishing companies make high profits. Lately a number of alternative ways of publishing have been initiated and discussed, generally referred to as open access. The catch-all theory states that parties have to change their structure to maximise the number of votes.

ABSTRACT The potato has had an important role in the Swedish dietary customs for quite some time. However, during the last forty years, consumption has decreased from 87 kg/year and person to 46 kg/year and person. Other products such as pasta, rice and bulgur are competing with the potato. Many of the competitors have been developed and refined while the potato has not changed much. The potato is still a bulk product while competing products have been differentiated. Stakeholders within the potato market has realized that something has to be done and today there are a number of organizations and networks that all actively work to preserve the Swedish agriculture and specifically the potato as a product. The purpose with this essay is to examine how store managers in the Swedish grocery stores view the handling of the potato in the store, the quality and packaging, marketing and future consumption.

Cannabis är narkotika och omdiskuterat, särskilt när det gäller dess medicinska användning. Många rykten florerar om mot vad det kan användas till och ett flertal individer med olika sjukdomsbakgrund självmedicinerar sig med Cannabis. Cannabinoider som extraheras från Cannabis kan vara användbara för behandling av en rad olika sjukdomar. Detta arbete fokuserar på att ge en exposé av Cannabisalkaloidernas medicinska värde för personer som upplever smärttillstånd och dess terapeutiska effekt vid sjukdomarna Multipel Skleros (MS) och Parkinsons. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie och databaserna PubMed och Cochrane har använts för att ta fram informationen.Studien är baserad på fem artiklar, av vilka två fokuserar på smärtlindring, en på muskelstelhet i samband med MS, en på dyskinesi hos patienter med Parkinsons och en på tics hos individer med Tourettes syndrom.Smärtlindring noterades både i studien där patienterna led av HIV-orsakad smärta och i den neuropatiska smärtstudien.

Bakgrund: Folkhälsoproblemet stress har bara ökat under senare år och flertalet sjukdomar uppkommer ur stress. Det finns olika stresshanteringsmetoder, men den kinesiska medicinen som stresshantering är inte så vanligt än. Hur kan den kinesiska medicinen påverka stressen hos individen? Syfte: Vilken metod inom den traditionella kinesiska medicinen(TCM) kan hjälpa mot stressrelaterade sjukdomar? Metod: En litteraturstudie genomfördes med tio utvalda artiklar som analyserades och sammanställdes till en rapport. Resultat: Akupunktur, akupressur, qigong har visat sig vara bra redskap till stresshantering.
