This thesis aims to examine the conditions for entrepreneurship in Taiwan by the occurrence of cultural phenomenon guanxi. Based on the concept of familiness and guanxi, the family is central in this study of family business. Traditional descriptions of the Asian culture claim that guanxi is vital in the business context. Though, recent studies indicate that significance of guanxi seems to be changing. Therefore the purpose of this thesis is to create an understanding of the importance and relevance of guanxi in the context of Taiwanese family business.By travelling to Kaohsiung, Taiwan to interview six managers of Taiwanese family firms this study?s empirical material was gathered for further processing based on a qualitative approach.

In order to get a better understanding of the interaction between employees and their technical work tools one needs to know what factors influence the interaction. The purpose of this study was to examine if there is a correlation between the personality traits Extraversion (E) and Neuroticism (N), tested with Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), and experience of the new Intranet among employees at The Swedish National Transport Administration (SNTA), and also to gather information of employees? opinions about the new Intranet. A survey, containing questions about the Intranet and a personality test (EPI), was posted on SNTA?s Intranet for eight workdays (N = 88, females = 53, males = 35).

Mitt syfte med den här uppsatsen är att förstå hur medarbetare upplever ett förändringsarbete i en organisation. Det handlar även om att studera skillnader mellan hur olika grupper av medarbetare upplever ett förändringsarbete. Upplevelserna av ett förändringsarbete har studerats utifrån olika faktorer såsom individrelaterade faktorer, arbetsrelaterade faktorer, processen och organisatoriska faktorer. Jag har valt att använda mig av både en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ metod för insamling av empiri. Först har jag intervjuat en projektledare, vilket har skett utifrån en kvalitativ ansats.

Background: Accounting of intangible assets have increased during the last years which have created a debate about if trademarks should be accounted as assets with the uncertainty of the value in mind. Valuation and accounting of trademarks are of interest for accountants and investors. These should be able toget information about the assets that are of importance for the company. A solid brand can be of great value for a company, which should be accounted for. Purpose: The purpose of this master is to examine the function of the brand in the different companies in the study and map the definitions that the different companies have of brands.

A central discussion within society and businesses today, is the change of generations in the business market which occurs within the upcoming years. A change of generations is unavoidable and a natural step in business. The challenge of the forthcoming reform is the large number of people leaving the labour market and the grand entrance of new labour; Generation Y. The characteristics of Generation Y differ from the older generation which enhances the challenges for the businesses to attract a new workforce. It may also be necessary for the organisations to adapt to the younger generation.

Möjligheten till val av redovisningsvaluta i Sverige och Danmark har funnits sedan år 2001 respektive år 1999. En undersökning som gjordes år 1997 i Sverige visade behov för företagen att redovisa i annan relevant valuta. Hur många som idag gått över till annan valuta och varför finns det ingen undersökning på och vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att förklara företagens val av redovisningsvaluta. Vi har gjort en dokumentundersökning som omfattar företag på Stockholmsoch Köpenhamnbörsen med säte i respektive land. Institutionell teori ligger till grund för de hypoteser som bildas. Den informella påtryckningen är från intressenter vilka påverkar företagen på olika vis och olika mycket.

The purpose of this Masters thesis was to examine women printers conditions in Sweden from 1483 to 1883. Women printers usually inherited their printing businesses from their husbands. We wanted to examine the circumstances surrounding women printers, how they managed to keep their companies and for how long. Internet dating is a relatively new phenomenon that, in using the opportunities of the internet, has taken traditional dating to a new level. The business idea is simple as such. The company provides its customers with a platform that enables interaction, leaving the value creation to the customers. A qualitative study is conducted investigating and mapping the Swedish market for Internet dating. It is researched what the characteristics of the companies are, what the Internet dating businesses in Sweden offer, what the prevailing market conditions are, and lastly what challenges lie ahead for the industry and how they can be solved.

The accounting information system comprises budgeting, accounting, and costing. The accounting information system has, traditionally, constituted an integrated system where the different elements collaborate. If ABC is introduced this order is disturbed, since ABC is based on another logic which cannot easily be integrated with budget and accounting. ABC, therefore, is usually used parallely to the conventional costing method. There are, however, companies that have taken its ABC one step further by letting it replace the old costing model and integrate it with the accounting information system.

Syfte: Studiens syfte är att bidra till forskningen kring ekonomistyrningens innehåll och utformning och mer specifikt att bidra till en ökad förståelse kring ekonomistyrningen i ideella föreningar. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats med en undersökningsmetod i form av intervjuer.Vår studie baseras på empiriskt material från strukturerade intervjuer med representanter från fyra olika ideella föreningar. Det teoretiska och empiriska materialet har sammanställts i respektive kapitel och därefter analyserats i förhållande till frågeställningen. Slutsatser: Resultatet visar att även om ekonomistyrning används i ideella föreningar utnyttjar man inte styrningens fulla potential. Avsaknaden av tydliga mål, verksamhetsplanering och strategisk planering försvårar styrandet i föreningarna. Budgeten används för att få överblick av föreningens finansiella position och ekonomisk uppföljning används för att kontrollera att budgeten följs..

Syfte: Författarna ämnar att undersöka om samband finns mellan KPO och produktivitetsförändringar. I samband med detta har vi även för avsikt att undersöka vilka motiv och faktorer som bör tas i beaktande inför en implementering av denna typ av outsourcing. Metod: I uppsatsen används ingen egen insamlad empiri, utan enbart sekundärdata. Dessa sekundärdata är både kvantitativa i form av statistik och rapporter men även kvalitativa i form av en intervju vilka är utgivna av branchföretag. Vi har studerat tidigare forskning och teorier inom ämnet vilket utgör det teoretiska ramverk som vi sedan baserar vår analys på. Slutsatser: Våra slutsats är att det i nuläget ej finns tillräckliga bevis för att KPO förbättrar ett företags produktivitet, främst för att det inte finns en bra metod att mäta produktiviteten av tjänster än.

This paper examines the European Commission?s, newly established, ?Register of interest representatives? The analysis is divided in two parts, first I analyze the registers purpose, the kind, and detail, of information it contains and the different kinds of groups that are supposed to register. After that I analyze the organizations in the register more thoroughly, using a database of my own creation. The database was constructed with information drawn from the register, as well as information from external sources. Regarding the design and purpose of the register, I find that improvements in the design are needed, if the register is to fulfill its purpose.

To ensure that the information companies share in their annual reports will be reliable and useful for its users, it is required that certain regulations are in place to ensure that they are established correctly based on laws and regulations. On the first of January 2014, new rules regarding the preparation of the financial reports were established in Sweden. In other words, new rules were introduced by Bokföringsnämnden regarding category 2 and category 3 accounting rules.Problem: The companies had to make their choice between the two different accounting rules.

10 years ago the School Library Forum´s core activity started; the development of model libraries. Since then, no comprehensive study of the School Library Forum has been made. How does the organization actually work and how do professionals perceive the changes of the organization? Against this background, the purpose of my essay is to examine the activity of the organization School Library Forum with a focus on organization and learning from the viewpoint of the learning organization. The following issues have been helpful to meet the purpose of the study:? How do the business developer, the principals and the school librarians experience the collaboration on the school-libraries model-library activity?? How does the collaboration contribute to learning within the organization according to the business developer, the principals and the school librarians?? How do the business developer, the principals and the school librarians perceive the changes in the School Library Forum´s organization, seen from the perspective of the learning organization?By conducting five interviews with stakeholders in various positions within the organization, such as business developer, principals and school librarians, a deeper insight into how respondents perceive the business from the perspective of the learning organization is obtained.

Based on the effects of liquidity we developed a research question concerning how concentration of ownership effects liquidity of corporate shares the studies conducted for companies listed on Nasdaq OMX during a period with major changes on the stock market and is also investigating weather other company-specific differences can explain differences in liquidity. Purpose: The study's purpose is to study the relationship between ownership concentration and liquidity, and whether other factors might explain differences in liquidity. Method: The study is conducted with a quantitative method and it?s based on data collected from 2006-2011 for companies listed on Nasdaq OMX.
