Product Development Processes in the Nordic Paper Packaging Companies : an assessments of complex processes
It is important for firms to continually develop their offerings as the business landscape develops in order to sustain their competitiveness (e.g. Schumpeter, 1934; Ansoff, 1979; Porter, 1985; Trott, 2012). In a context of globalization, rapid technology development and changing customer needs, the paper packaging industry is urged to enhance its product development activities (Hansen & Niskanen, 2007; Björkdahl & Börjesson, 2011). However, there is little research about paper packaging firms? product development processes (ibid).
Kommunikation inom projektering. Hur påverkar visuell planering och projektkontor?
This report aims to provide an insight into the particle physics of today, and into the research that goes on within the field. The focus is partly on the recent discovery of the Higgs boson, and partly on how software can be used to simulate processes in particle accelerators. Basic concepts of particle physics and the search for the Higgs boson are discussed, and experimental results, including those from the Large Hadron Collider, are compared with simulations made in MadGraph 5. Furthermore, simple new models of particle physics are created in FeynRules, in order to make simulations based on the models. To support the presentations of these aspects, some of the underlying theory is built from the ground up.
1600-talets urvalsprocesser för tryckta verk : Produktion och distribution av böcker och dissertationer i Stockholm och Uppsala
During the 17th century the production and distribution of printed works increased in Stockholm and Uppsala. However, all works that the publisher wanted to print, did not reach the reader. This thesis aimed to show when, where and how printed books and dissertations did not reach the reader. To achieve this aim, aspects of several well known models showing systems of book production and distribution were combined and adapted to suit Swedish conditions in the 17th century. This combined model focused on processes of selection and was presented and used as a theoretical approach.

The so called democratic deficit and the lack of legitimacy have been at the core of the EU-debate in the last decades. Low turnouts in the elections for the European parliament and disapproval in the ratification processes of the latest changes of the treaties are examples of the citizens lack of confidence for the EU and continuous integration. In Nice 2000 the heads of the member states governments agreed to try to improve the democratic legitimacy in the EU and initiated a public debate aiming at proposals for changes in the decision making processes in the EU. In July 2001 the commission published a white paper with their view. A fundamental presumption in discourse theory is that language and language usage not just is a way to deliver information about ideas and behaviours.
Romernas situation i Sverige : En studie över vilka typer av integrationsstrategier som återspeglas i Svensk politik
The focus in this study is on the situation of Roma in Sweden. The purpose is to see the integration strategies that are reflected in Swedish politics, considering the inclusion of Roma. Idea analysis has been used as method, and I have analysed the text to find expressions of four different ideal types that represent four different types of integrations processes. The material consists of the government?s strategy plan for the Roma?s inclusion in Sweden between 2012-2032.
National Branding - Sverige som varumärke
Bakgrund: Globaliseringen leder till att länder i allt högre utsträckning konkurrerar med varandra om uppmärksamhet, respekt och tillit från investerare, turister, konsumenter, donatorer, invandrare och media. Ett kraftfullt och positivt varumärke utgör därför en viktig konkurrensfördel. Varumärkesprofilering och branding, är de sätt på vilka en organisation kommunicerar, särskiljer och symboliserar sig själva gentemot sina kunder/klienter. National Branding är samma sak, men för ett land. Argumentet för National Branding är, i dagens globaliserade värld, att det finns en acceptans för konkurrens mellan länder för att erhålla uppmärksamhet av världen och dess tillgångar.

Accounting firms operate in environments with high competition for graduates and students today expect employers to be present on Facebook and the like. We aim to describe whether two major accounting firms use social media in their graduate recruitment. We chose to do case studies of Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young and how they use social media channels aimed towards graduates. Through a through study of how the two companies communicated through various social media, we concluded that Grant Thornton was significantly better than their larger competitor at social media use. Both companies use Facebook as their main communication channel.

The main aim of this study was to create a betterunderstanding regarding the impact of decision support systems on the various operationswithin the City Council's procurement units which in turn will increase effectiveness.
Energikartläggning av avfallsförbränningen i Uppsala
Vattenfall Heat Uppsala runs the waste incineration plant in Uppsala, which produces district heating, process steam, district cooling and electricity. Vattenfall Heat Uppsala has decided to introduce an energy management system with the aim to increase the energy efficiency of the plant. The basis in such a system is to make an energy mapping.In this thesis an energy mapping has been performed at the waste incineration plant with the aim to identify and determine the size of energy flows. The investigated energy flows are used fuel, produced and used steam, produced district heating and cooling. Also the use of electricity to run the processes has been investigated.

This study seeks to evaluate wastewater as an energy resource and to examine treatment plants potential to become sustainable energy producers. The study is based upon the internal processes of Himmerfja?rdsverket.
Att säkra den framtida kompetensen - Ett företags arbete med att attrahera studenter
I takt med att konkurrensen på arbetsmarknaden blir allt hårdare samtidigt som det pågår ett generationsskifte inom olika branscher så är det viktigare än någonsin att hitta talangfulla medarbetare med rätt kompetens. I denna kvalitativa studie undersöktes en verksamhet i ett företag som samarbetar med diverse universitet för att förbättra utbildningarna och skapa en större rekryteringsbas. Syftet med studien var att få en förståelse för hur företaget strategiskt arbetar med att attrahera studenter från verksamhets utbildningar. Studien har utgått från teorier och forskning som berör Employer Branding samt motivation. Nio semi-strukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med anställda som arbetar i verksamheten.

The aim of this study was to get insight into refugee children?s perception about experience of the preparatory class, the transition to the ordinary class and the ordinary class. To get access to my informant?s perspective and also to get a more profound understanding of their experience, I oriented the study in a qualitative approach. This study will highlight the refugee children?s personal experiences and their point of view regarding the schools preparatory class, ordinary class, together with other pupils behaviour against them in the social interaction.
Employer branding ? Hur kan företag vinna kriget om talang?
Idag är varumärken några av de mest värdefulla resurser företag har, och dessa har utvecklatsfrån att särskilja likartade produkter till att även särskilja platser, människor och företag. Nuapplicerar även företag varumärkesaktiviteter för att särskilja sina egenskaper som arbetsplatsför att kunna attrahera de bästa medarbetarna samt att behålla sina befintliga; detta arbetekallas employer branding och är vad denna studie behandlar. Syftet med föreliggande studievar att undersöka hur företag genom fördjupad kunskap kring vad ekonomistudenterefterfrågar kan anpassa sina employer brands för att bli en employer of choice. För att kunnabesvara syftet har två undersökningar genomförts. I den första studien, som var av kvantitativkaraktär, har 206 ekonomistudenter besvarat en enkät bestående av 19 olika faktorer som devärderat; dessa faktorer var egenskaper och attribut som en arbetsgivare kan erbjuda.
