Information inom den kommunala socialtjÀnsten. En studie av socionomers upplevelse av information i det dagliga arbetet med barnavÄrdsutredningar.
The aim of this Masters thesis is to investigate how trained social workers experience information in their daily work. The thesis focussed on three major questions: - What type of information and information sources are mostly used by the trained social workers? - What kind of information barriers are described by the participants? - How can the patterns of information seeking and information use be understood on the basis of the trained social workers professional and social context? Semi-structured interviews were carried out with trained social workers working with child welfare enquiries. My theoretical framework consists of user and context oriented theories about classifications of information, information barriers and models of information sources. My conclusions are that trained social workers working with risk assessment in child protection services, need to use different kinds of information in their daily work, such as problem information, domain information and problem-solving information.

VÀgen till rÀtt information. - En studie av informationsbehov hos personer som arbetar med information i olika verksamheter
The purpose of this Master thesis is to examine theinformation use and information seeking behaviour amongpersons who actively work with information. For this study,interviews have been conducted with a group of six personswho work with information in information intensiveorganizations. The aim is to answer the following questions:What kind of information is connected to the respondents?work tasks? What is the purpose of their search forinformation? Which information sources do they use and whatkind of information sources do they demand? The theoreticalframework consists mainly of Wilsons information needs andinformation seeking model.The results of this study show that none of the respondentshad any strategic model for their work with information. Theinformation that the respondents were searching for is ofdifferent content and depends on the organization in which therespondent operates.
Biblioteksservice till barn med utlÀndsk bakgrund - vilken service skulle kunna erbjudas pÄ bibliotek i segregerade förorter
The aim of the paper is to examine how public libraries can develop their services for children with ethnic minority backgrounds as a user group. This is achieved through studying the conditions for library services provided for children aged 9-12 in this group by public libraries in suburbs densely populated with ethnic minorities. The paper uses both a literature review and empirical research on the community libraries in Rinkeby and RosengÄrd as well as the town library in Lund. Services potentially available to these groups are analysed and discussed in the later chapters. The overall conclusion is that those services provided for ethnic minority children are largely the same as those provided for in children library services in general.
Konurrensen tÀtnar - En studie om hur Katedralskolan har anpassat sig till den nya skolmarknden
Uppsatsen syftar till att ta reda pÄ hur Katedralskolan i Lund tacklar den allt tuffare konkur-rensen som uppstÄtt mellan skolor sedan vi i Sverige har gjort att det egna valet av gymnasie-skola fÄtt större fokus. Eftersom det numer Àr ett val som ska göras mÄste skolorna visa att de finns som alternativ. Detta gör att de mÄste synas och det stÀller krav pÄ att skolan marknads-för sig pÄ ett eller annat sÀtt. Jag undrar ocksÄ hur skolan har finansierat dessa satsningar. Vad kan man prioritera ned för att fÄ rÄd till marknadsföring? I Lund har kommunen beslutat att introducera en gymnasiemÀssa som har i syfte att visa de kommande eleverna vilka alternativ som finns och dÀrmed underlÀtta för dessa elever att skapa sig en uppfattning om vilket val de ska göra.
Genom att intervjua ett antal personer pÄ skolan har jag velat fÄ fram en bild av hur lÀrare och skolledning stÀller sig till konkurrenssituationen.
Kontextbaserad information genom iBeacon : En implementation i iOS och Android
I dagslÀget vÀxer behovet av rÀtt information vid rÀtt plats, kontextbaserad information. Med hjÀlp av iBeacon kan man till en stor utstrÀckning förse det hÀr behovet med en lösning. I uppsatsen undersöks anvÀndningsomrÄden för iBeacon och idéer för hur man kan utveckla lösningar med hjÀlp av iBeacon. Ett koncept kommer att implementeras för att distribuera kontextbaserad information pÄ mÀssor. Konceptet utvecklades till iOS och Android.
Arbetsterapeuters informationssökningsbeteende: En intervjuundersökning vid en rehabiliteringsklinik
This thesis deals with the information-seeking behaviour of occupational therapists. Focus was on three different aspects of information-seeking behaviour. The purpose was to investigate how occupational therapists conceive of work-related information needs, their choice and use of formal and informal information sources and their use of the hospital library. Twelve interviews with occupational therapists were conducted at a rehabilitation clinic in a hospital. The theoretical frame consists of a general model of the information-seeking of professionals by Leckie, Pettigrew and Sylvain.

The aim of this masters thesis was to study how the members of a small non-profit organisation perceived the web forum, compared to the other information channels of the organisation. The organisation was defined as a virtual community. A literature review was conducted. The theory construction was based on the sensemaking theory. Interview questions were constructed based on the literature review and the sensemaking theory.

TaS - Take a Seat
Humans have always been fascinated by the thought of bringing non living objects to life. We
wanted to explore the possibilities of trying to create an artefact that the audience would
consider possess emotional states and have a life of its own.
TaS is a interactive chair that functions as a social entity. The idea is to try and enhance the
bond between human and artefact, based upon the emotional connection. We try and produce,
enhance and maintain this bond through curiosity based interaction.

This thesis deals with information practices of first time parents. The term information practice covers topics ranging from the information a parent need and use, the information they actively seek for through to information attained through browsing, monitoring or simply being aware. Four problem areas have been formulated. What information do first time parents need? How do they get hold of information and how do they use it? What factors decide what sources they use? How do the first time parents validate the information they get? The following theoretical framework have been used; Marcia J Bates? model of information practice and Reijo Savolainen?s Mastery of Life theory.

VÄrt syfte med denna uppsats Àr att analysera om och i sÄ fall hur och varför kÀnda profiler pÄverkar konsumenters uppfattning av ett varumÀrke. Vi har i vÄr studie anvÀnt oss av Lindex som fallföretag och deras anvÀndning av kÀnda personer i sin marknadsföring. Vid val av tillvÀgagÄngssÀtt har vi utgÄtt ifrÄn en abduktiv ansats, dÀr vÄra primÀrdata baseras pÄ en kvalitativ undersökning genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Dessa intervjuer har Àgt rum pÄ öppen gata i Malmö samt pÄ ekonomihögskolan i Lund. Som inledning av vÄr teoretiska referensram har vi anvÀnt oss av modellen om varumÀrkesmedvetenhet.
Hur upplever gymnasieelever sin informationssökning? En studie pÄ en skola utan tillgÄng till skolbibliotek
This masters thesis aims to investigate how upper secondary school pupils experience their information seeking in a school context without access to a school library. It is the pupils own thoughts and opinions about information seeking and criticism of the sources that is the main focus. The literature that has been used consists of material from research concerning youth and different aspects of information seeking such as the information seeking process, information seeking on the web, criticism of the sources and how pupils interact with other people in order to acquire information. The method that has been used is group interviews. Twelve pupils from an independent school without access to a school library have been interviewed in groups of three.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine the opinion about school libraries among principals at the independent schools in the municipality of Lund. In order to fulfil my purpose I used a qualitative method with an introductory questionnaire, which gave background material to the interviews. All seven principals answered the questionnaire and five of them agreed to participate in an interview. Another two interviews were made with two informants, this material was included in the background material.
