The aim of the study is to examine ideas surrounding copyright law and related rights appearing in the referral statements that the participants of the library sphere gave to the department writ Ds 2003:35. These ideas reflect the positions the library sphere take regarding issues surrounding the copyright law and related rights. The department writ was preceded by a directive from the European Union; Directive 2001/29/EC of the European parliament and of the council of 22 may 2001 on the harmonization of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society. The writ Ds 2003:35 was later followed by a proposition from the government which was co-herent with the preceding writ. The empirical material has been analyzed with a starting point in the polarizations, artist/audience, private/public and original/copy, presented in PhD Martin Fredriksson?s book Skapandets rätt.

The aim of this two years master's thesis is to examine public librarians? views of their pedagogical role towards school children, and to illustrate the relationship between public libraries and schools as a background for the role of the public librarians. The theoretical framework is Carol Cullier Kuhlthau?s theory of the roles of librarians as mediators in reference work (Levels of Mediation) and in education (Levels of Education). The main question of the study is: How do public librarians view their pedagogical role towards elementary school pupils and high school students? Related questions regarding the use of the public library for school purposes, the communication and cooperation between the public library and the schools, the difference between public libraries and school libraries and the librarians? view of pedagogical work are also made.The method used is qualitative interviews.

Eftersom de tryckta tidskrifternas vara eller inte vara diskuteras inom biblioteksvärlden, ville jag göra en fallstudie, där jag utvärderade i vilken omfattning och vilka tidskrifter som nyttjas av kunderna. Jag valde ett förhållandevis litet bibliotek ? det i Vännäs ? dels för att få ett överskådbart material, men även då budgeten brukar var snävare på mindre enheter. Jag belyste nyttjandegraden ur såväl brukarnas synvinkel ? finns de titlar som de vill ha ? men även ur bibliotekets syn ? finns det tidskrifter som kan tas bort för att frigöra medel till annat? Utredningen syftade även att undersöka om det fanns någon klar skillnad på nyttjarna i avseende på kön och ålder.

The purpose of this two years master thesis is to examine the potential benefits of using bibliotherapy on elderly Finnish immigrants residing in Sweden and living in geriatric care. The basis of the study is a four week long bibliotherapeutic project implemented at a nursing home for Finnish-speaking people in Stockholm County.Participants were men and women spanning in age from 70 to 90 years old. Common for all the participants was that they had lived their entire adult life in Sweden, their only language was Finnish, and they had the diagnosis of dementia. The study examines the bibliotherapeutic model of Arleen McCarty Hynes and Mary Hynes-Berry, as well as Inger Eriksson?s approach for the use of bibliotherapy in nursing homes and hospices.The empirical analysis is based on field notes from the bibliotherapeutic sessions and from interviews with librarians and nurses involved in the project.

Westermo Teleindustri tillverkar och säljer telefonmodem för industritillämpningar och ska erbjuda ett konfigureringsverktyg till dessa. Verktyget ska konfigurera Westermos modem med Hayes AT-kommandon genom ett PC program som ska vara enkelt att använda så att deras supportavdelning blir avlastad från en del konfigureringssupport. Min uppgift i detta examensarbete var att ta fram en kravspecifikation och implementera en lösning utifrån denna. Kravspecifikation togs fram genom att skicka ut förfrågningar om önskemål till dotterbolag, distributörer och andra som har nära kontakt med slutkunderna. I kravspecifikationen beskrivs vilken funktionalitet programvaran skall innehålla.

The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the role of language and culture as ethnical identification factors and illustrate how these have been used as political weapons by the Serb regime in Kosovo during the last decade. The thesis discusses the concept of ethnicity, the relations between the politics of identity, nationalism, ethnic mobilization and the importance of language and culture. Kosovo has historically been characterized by severe ethnic antagonism between Serbs and Albanians. Different languages, cultures and religions beside political processes led to ethnic cleavages that paved the way for ethnocentrism, ethnonationalism, chauvinism, ethnic cleansing and civil war. Since 1989, the Serbian authorities have intervened in all important spheres of life, in an attempt to Serbianize Kosovo.

Spelmotor är benämningen på den komponent som hanterar en del av mekaniken i ett datorspel. Förutom funktioner för grafik, fysik etc. finns också funktioner för rörelser, interaktion med världen etc. I detta examensarbete går vi in på hur en spelmotor för morgondagens mobiltelefon kan se ut, samt vad dagens mobiltelefoners hårdvara och mjukvara saknar för att dagens PC-spel ska kunna portas till dem. Stödet för att spela avancerade spel på mobiltelefoner växer ständigt och inom några år bör hårdvaran vara ungefär densamma som på PC.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur restless legs inverkar på individens sömn och livskvalitet. Syftet var även att granska vilka olika former av behandlingar som finns att tillgå vid restless legs. För att finna information om detta ämne har endast vetenskapliga artiklar använts. Datainsamlingen har skett via databaser, internet samt Högskolans bibliotek, och artiklar från år 1995 och framåt har valts ut. Inklusionskriterier för denna studie var att de valda artiklarna skulle vara internationella vetenskapliga artiklar i fulltext.

Syftet med rapporten var att ur ett vetenskapligt perspektiv belysa och utvärdera riskbilden för personer med en hörsel- eller synskada i publika lokaler. Drygt en femtedel av den svenska befolkningen innehar en hörsel- eller synskada. Deras funktionhinder komplicerar vardagen och det sociala livet. Offentliga platser och publika lokaler skapar hinder och i vissa fall faror. Sverige klassas idag som ett av världens mest jämställda land där funktionshinder, kön, ursprung och religion inte ska ha någon betydelse, alla har samma rättigheter.

This master thesis is a study of the Swedish Lending Centre for immigrant literature (ILC), which opened in 1991. The purpose of the thesis is to examine problems and possibilities in the organization of ILC, which has a number of powerful stakeholders. In this study focus has been on the development of the organization, and especially on the planning of the conversion of the non-public Lending Centre to a library open to public (to be called the International Library in Stockholm) that will be inaugurated in May 2000. ILC is governmentally financed, but incorporated in the organization of the public library in Stockholm. Other stakeholders, except the Swedish Government and Stockholm City, are the County of Stockholm, the staff of ILC, and the public libraries that use the Centre's long-distance-lending facilities.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the library discourses concerning the phenomenon and concept of digital libraries in Swedish library press 1980-2002. What changes can be identified? The questions are: what is said about the conditions for the phenomenon; how is the concept of digital libraries used; who makes these statements; what are the relations between these discussions and the library context in which they are made? Five Swedish library journals, BBL/Biblioteksbladet, DIK-forum, Human IT, Svensk biblioteksforskning and Tidskrift för dokumentation, were examined. The method used was discourse analysis. The theoretical starting-point was Foucaults discourse theory.

This study investigates the planning process of a university library building. The study s major concern is the cooperation of the main participants in this process: librarians, architects and representatives of university colleges and universities. First the authors present the readers with an overview of the litterature concerning this subject. Then follows a presentation of the three case studies. The authors have interviewed representatives of the three different occupational groups at three different library-building projects: Malmö University, Halmstad University College and the department of social- and behavioural studies at Lund University.

Varje polismyndighet har idag en skyldighet att ha en utarbetad mångfaldsplan. Därför har vi studerat två myndigheters mångfaldsplaner och ställt frågor utifrån dessa till de ansvarig inom varje myndighet. Kåren är idag väldigt homogen med tanke på kön och etnicitet. Endast 19,6 % av poliserna i Sverige idag är kvinnor och någon statistik på hur många invandrare som finns ute på myndigheterna finns över huvud taget inte. Litteratur har vi införskaffat från bibliotek, Internetsidor samt kontakt med personer från en av landets polismyndigheter.

This Master?s thesis explores the staff responsible for children?s culture in the south of Sweden, in north-east Scania. This thesis seeks to answer the following questions: What kind of culture is offered to children in their spare time? Can children influence culture in the investigated region, and do the people in charge listen to the children?s ideas? How are children in the region informed about cultural events? In my research I used enquiries and worked with the investigation program Query & Report to collect the material. The study consists of the staff, i.e.

Genom detta examensarbete vill vi undersöka vilka avsikter pedagoger har i arbetet med barn och barnlitteratur på förskolor, men också hur pedagoger och barn resonerar kring böcker och bokläsning i förskolan. Vi vill även belysa vikten av att barn i förskolan kommer i kontakt med litteratur/böcker I forskningsbakgrunden behandlas våra styrdokument i förskolan och barnlitteratur i allmänhet samt arbetet kring litteraturen såsom högläsning och boksamtal. Som metod valde vi att intervjua pedagoger och barn på två undersökningsförskolor i en storstad för att undersöka hur pedagoger och barn resonerar kring böcker och bokläsning i förskolan. Resultatet av vår undersökning visar inte på någon större skillnad varken vad det gäller pedagogers syn på högläsningens betydelse eller bokutbudet på förskolorna. Däremot kan vi se att barns respektive pedagogers förhållningssätt till barnlitteratur skiljer sig åt, bland annat genom att barnen oftare än pedagogerna väljer populärkulturell litteratur. Vi hoppas att vi genom denna undersökning gett berörda pedagoger ökad medvetenhet och förståelse vad gäller barnlitteratur och högläsning i förskolan. Men även att vi genom detta arbete sprider våra resultat till övriga pedagoger som arbetar med barn.
