The distribution of work related tasks depending on gender leads to different appraisal depending on which gender is performing a task. This aim of this research is to study how gender differences influence task allocation within the restaurant industry. The study is inspired by a discourse analysis perspective complemented by constructivist and critical pragmatic theory. Interviews were conducted in two focus groups with seven participants in total. The analysis is divided into four sections which answer six discourse analytical questions using the interview material.

The aim of this study is to look at how librarians express theirpart in reading groups organized by public libraries. Thestudy is based on interviews with seven public librarians insouth regions of Sweden. The main theory used to analyse isfound in the article Bibliotekaren som litteraturformidler(1994) written by the Norwegian librarian Jofrid KarnerSmidt, where she talks about five different roles that alibrarian can have in this context and how they appear. Threeof these roles were used in this study: the pedagogue, theliterature expert and the marketer.The interviewed librarians mostly had a similar view on howthey look at their role in the reading group. They saw theirpurpose as to provide all kinds of people with a possibility tojoin in discussions about mutual interests and share variousopinions about books.

A two-factor design of experiments done on GGAB for the identification of two selected factors influence on the length of the scattering of heat exchanger gaskets. The work consists of four parts: study, choice of survey method, the performance of investigation and analysis of the results. Den digitala ljudboken blir allt mer populär bland konsumenterna. Förlaget Bonnier Audio har en hypotes att den fysiska ljudboken kommer försvinna och att den digitala ljudboken kommer ta över. Men hur ser egentligen den digitala ljudbokens omslag ut? Skulle man kunna kombinera olika målgrupper och ändå få fram ett säljande omslag? Jag tog kontakt med tre olika fokusgrupper för att förstå vad målgruppen med normalseende hade för behov och tankar kring ljudböcker. Därefter kontaktade jag även en synskadad för att ta reda på vad av mitt material från fokusgrupperna jag skulle kunna använda för att binda samman de två skilda behoven. Med hjälp av litteratur har jag sedan diskuterat kring olika aspekter som kan tilltala, hjälpa eller tydliggöra de digitala omslagen. Det viktigaste jag kommit fram till i min undersökning är att färg har olika betydelse för den synskadade och personer med normalseende. Att de två olika målgrupperna använder sig av färg på olika sätt anpassat efter deras egna specifika behov. Men att man kan formge ett digitalt ljudboksomslag genom att använda sig av ljusvärde och kontraster för att få fram ett funktionellt omslag som tilltalar båda målgrupperna..

Wind is used as an energy source all over the world. To be able to use this effectively, there is a need for as good forecasts and forecast models as possible. One of these models is Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS®) that is used to calculate short time forecasts. This model is used here to calculate wind speeds at two different areas in Västra Götaland, Bengtsfors and Vänersborg. There are also wind measurements with SODAR stations for these areas.

A pavement construction designed to cope with the different type of traffic loads; it is exposed to and at the same time it can resist the effect of the climate. A road structure consists of sub- and superstructure which is divided by a boundary known as terrace. During the construction of unbound layers (base course and sub-base course) in the superstructure, it is always ensured that the material meet the requirements for bearing capacity and the degree of compaction. These parameters are controlled by various laboratory tests and control methods. To obtain increased knowledge of the material and improve the quality of the compaction in the field, it is necessary to perform laboratory tests in order to determine material properties.A base course material 0/ 32 mm limestone from Gotland (Hejdeby) was investigated in this study.

Rules on parental leave have over the years been the subject of several gender debates. The big question has particularly been whether a further individualization of the days should be established. Sweden is a relatively equal country but differences still exist between men and women in the labor market, such as differences in wages. A fact that is considered encouraging for this is the uneven distribution of parental leave between men and women. It has now been nearly 40 years since the introduction of the first parental insurance but we have still not achieved gender equality in working life which was the main purpose.The main purpose of this essay is to study the motives for the proposal of individualized parental leave, and in addition examine how this change of rules could impact on gender equality in the work place.

Bakgrund: Företag som distribuerar varor till kund kan tillämpa antingen direkta eller indirekta försäljningskanaler, såsom centralt styrda enheter och franchising. Fördelar med franchising är en ökad tillväxttakt såväl som att franchisetagaren genom att satsa eget kapital motiveras att driva butiken så bra som möjligt vilket även gynnar franchisegivaren. Fördelar med centralt styrda enheter å andra sidan är standardisering, vilket lättare uppnås vid högre kontroll som kan återfinnas i centralt styrda organisationer där beslutsvägarna är kortare. Att tillämpa en distribution genom centralt styrda enheter ger även stordriftsfördelar genom exempelvis gemensamma inköp. För att öka kunskapen om fördelar och nackdelar med olika distributionsstrategier anser vi att det är intressant att studera hur distributionen påverkar ett företags anställda.

Vår webbapplikation skulle skilja sig från redan befintliga lösningar genom att den enkelt skulle kunna anpassas för olika kunder snabbt och effektivt. Detta skulle vi uppnå genom att bygga webbapplikationen kring moduler som alla hade olika funktioner på plattformen, och kunde bytas ut med en knapptryckning. I projektet jobbade vi kring konceptet "från produktion till distribution" med vilket vi menar att både kan producera den bästa webb-tv:n samt ha den smidigaste lösningen för distribution som de flesta kunderna skulle ha råd med. På dagens marknad så är antingen lösningarna för enkla och avskalade eller för anpassade och dyra för att passa den normala kunden, med en normal kund så avser vi ett företag med cirka 10-100 anställda.

Eutrophication of lakes and streams are nowadays a well known environmental problem and implies an enrichment of the nutrients phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N). Phosphorus is considered to be the most important component for the growth of aquatic plants and leads in too large quantities to an intensification of growth. Phosphate (PO4) is the fraction of phosphorus that can easiest be taken up by plants and thus have the greatest impact on eutrophication. Increased plant growth in lakes and unfavorable conditions for aquatic animals are two examples of negative consequences. A significant portion of the increased nutrient supply to nearby water can be derived to phosphate leaching from agricultural areas, where private sewers and agriculture is two main sources.

This report describes how to process audio signals in real time with a digital signalprocessor. The digital signal processor used in the thesis and described in the reportare the Blackfin processor ADSP-BF537 from Analog Devices.In the body of this report there is theory of the processor characteristics and thevarious programming languages used. All experiments that were made on theprocessor are described, these descriptions also help in understanding the annexeswhere the experiments will be presented. The body of this report also describes theprogram used to do experiments. Testing the CPU limit was done and the results arepresented to get a good view of what it can handle.

Root rot causes large economical losses for Swedish forestry. The spread of root rot can partly be prevented by treating the spruce stumps in thinnings. Late pre-commercial thinning (PCT) is one of the forestry measures where stump treatment is not used. Late PCT can be defined as: The act of cleaning the stand with the aim of improving accessibility and sight within the stand, and so to increase the mean stem´s volume during the first conventional thinning. The aim of this study was to examine how late PCT is performed, its spatial extent and if it aids the spreading of root rot. The study was limited to encompass late PCT before first conventional thinnings in spruce stands in southern Sweden. Samples of spruce stumps were taken from four stands where late PTC had been carried out.
