From the early 1990s, psychosocial illness has become an increasing problem in our society. During this period several factors affected the development of the Swedish labor market and created lack of job security. For example, the competition between companies increased, aswell as an increase of demands, efficiency and rationalization. This led to a higher pace in the workplace, and it was noticeably especially in the public sector. According to studies, stress is the main reason for psychosocial illness and affects more women than men.

This study deals with work environment from a legal perspective. The study includes legislative history, legislation today and one empirical study. The legislation that concerns work environment (health and safety) in Sweden today is found in the Swedish Work Environment Act (WEA), the Work Environment Ordinance (WEO), Provisions issued by the Work Environment Authority, related legislations and also collective agreements. The WEA, passed by the parliament in 1977, came into force on the 1st of July 1978 and it defines the framework for Provisions issued by the Work Environment Authority, which is an authority superintended by the Swedish government. These Provisions contain more detailed stipulations and obligations with reference to the working environment.

Olyckor såsom kollisioner mellan fartyg, kollisioner mellan fartyg och föremål samt grundstötningar inom sjöfarten är något som kan leda till såväl miljöförstöring som till enorma kostnader för alla inblandade. Kan det möjligen vara så att en anledning till dessa olyckor är bristande bryggrutiner ombord? Syftet med denna uppsats är att, genom en sammanställning av olycksrapporter från år 2000 till 2007, undersöka om det går tyda några samband mellan fartyg som grundstöter, kolliderar eller kolliderar med annat föremål, inom den svenska handelssjöfarten. Resultatet visade bland annat att tankfartyg grundstöter oftare än andra fartyg. Utifrån det påträffade sambanden genomfördes ett antal intervjuer med lotsar, styrmän och befälhavare som är verksamma inom tanksjöfarten, för att undersöka hur situationen ser ut ombord under de förhållanden då tankfartygen vanligast grundstöter.

Många gående skadas eller dör i trafiken varje år. En stor del av olyckorna inträffarvid övergångsställen, flest olyckor sker vid obevakade övergångsställen. Nollvisionenär ett långsiktigt mål att ingen människa ska behöva skadas eller dö itrafiken. Somett ytterligare steg mot  nollvisionen infördes år 2000 den så kallade?Zebralagen?, en lag som innebär att fordonsförare har väjningsplikt gentemotgående.

Nuclear power plants existences have been well debated since the 70s (Swedish radiation safety authority, 2014). Accidents, risk and presence connected to nuclear power plants have been part of many studies around the world. Recent studies have shown a connection between prices of houses and the distance and presence of nuclear power plant in a surronding area of the house. This paper uses Hedonic price modelling to investigate the willingness to pay for an increased distance to the Swedish nuclear power plant, Forsmark. For the dependent variable selling price was used and the independent variables were number of rooms, living area, other area, lot size, selling year, building year and distance to Forsmark.

Equestrianism is a big sport in Sweden with many practitioners. It is a dangerous sport and it is important for the rider to be aware of the risks, to study equine ethology and know how to handle the horse, to avoid Accidents. Today most people have their first contact with a horse through a horseback riding school. Ölmstad rid- och körsällskap is a riding school that provides their pupils with a different kind of lessons. The lessons are 90 minutes long and contain both riding and horse-knowledge education.

In Sweden, child traffic safety is a key part of the country?s Nollvision, a long-term traffic policy goal of ?no deaths or serious injuries?. Unfortunately, many countries have recorded increases in child traffic Accidents as the percentage of parents who drive their children to school and thus congestion around schools has increased. Common strategies include traffic safety education for children, the redesign and improvement of traffic infrastructure, bicycle training, and carpooling.This thesis assesses the traffic problem around Ludvigsberg School in the district Valbo in Gävle, Sweden.

Due to the growing wild boar (Sus scrofa L.) population in Sweden there has been an increase in wild boar related traffic Accidents, damage on cropland, and conflicts regarding the management of the wild boar. Knowing what makes the wild boar reproduce and survive more or less successfully in different geographic areas is an important part of managing the population. According to previous studies the wild boars rate of increase varies from county to county. The aim of this study was to test, on the county scale level, if landscape composition and diversity as well as people and hunter densities might be the reason for this variation. The first hypothesis was that a big proportion of forests and cropland would increase the rate of increase.

The purpose of this essay is to look upon the gender structure in Sweden, during the late Middle Ages. Mainly I focus on how the church viewed men and women, since the material of my research, the miracle stories of three saints, was found credible and was written down by churchmen. The saints, whose miracles I have studied, are Birgitta Birgersdotter and Katarina Ulfsdotter of Vadstena and Niklas Hermansson of Linköping. These miracles have earlier been studied by the historian Anders Fröjmark, who has noticed that there are fewer heeled women than men figuring in the miracles. Because of this, Fröjmark draws the conclusion that women were less able to leave their homes and travel as pilgrims to the holy sites of the saints.
