Narkolepsi är en sjukdom som endast drabbar 1:1000, men ger ett stort lidande för dem som drabbas. Narkolepsi anses i huvudsak ha fyra huvudsymtom som benämns den narkoleptiska tetraden, och utgörs av sömnattacker och daglig sömnighet, kataplexi, sömnparalys och hypnagoga hallucinationer. Alla dessa har en påtagligt negativ inverkan på den drabbade människan. Syftet med studien är att belysa narkolepsipatientens upplevelse av lidande och välbefinnande i relation till sjukdomen. Studien är utformad som en litteraturstudie där 10 stycken artiklar analyserats.

This paper studies the fragmentation and reuse of early christian monuments ("eskilstunakistor") in churches in Östergötland during the medieval period. This is found to have been done in two stages. The first stage shows a collectivization of society. Within religion the change from ancestoral cult towards the saints' cult is important as the fragments are reused like relics. During the second stage the collectivization has been fulfilled, and the reuse is instead part of the christian churches' strategy for incorporating old powerful symbols from the landscape into their own church building..

Detta examensarbete utfördes på Megadoor AB i Skellefteå som tillverkar industriportar i alla tänkbara storlekar. Portarna har en unik teknisk utformning vilket gör att det endast finns ett fåtal konkurrenter. I dagsläget tillverkar Megadoor AB sina större portar mestadels i mindre delar innan de skickar dem till kunden, vilket gör att de har en lång installationstid. Om portarna istället skulle tillverkas i sin helhet i produktionslokalen, skulle de kunna minska tiden för installationen vilket skulle öka servicegraden mot kunden. Detta har länge diskuterats på företaget, men eftersom kunskapen kring vilka transportregler som finns för transport av extrema produkter och hur prisbilden ser ut för dessa transporter, har de inte vågat ändra sitt tillvägagångssätt.

This study investigated whether in-situ audiometry, delivered via hearing aids, is a better option as a basis forprescribing hearing aid amplification, compared to conventional audiometry. By examining the real ear insertgain (REIG) in 29 ears (18 subjects), that had been fitted with a hearing aid programmed using both conventionalaudiometry and in-situ audiometry, the study looked at whether in-situ audiometry based prescription is closer tothe NAL NL1's fitting target than audiogram based prescription. The hearing aid Siemens Pure 7mi with speakerunit M was used on all participants. The results showed how in-situ audiometry based gain at certain frequenciesis more consistent with the target curve, especially at 1000, 1500, 2000 and 4000 Hz. It was not establishedwhether the findings of the study were statistically significant.

Det har visat sig vara svårt att fastställa en allmänt accepterad defintion av begreppet intelligens. Kortfattat kan intelligens sägas handla om förmågan att framgångsrikt lösa nya problem. Slutsatsen idag efter över 100 års forskning om g-faktorn är rörande överens om att det är ostridigt att generell intelligens kan använas för att förutsäga en mängd olika beteenden. Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva huvuddragen om forskning kring intelligensen och mätningen av intelligens. Det andra syftet är att definiera validitet och reliabilitet i arbetssammanhang.

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) is a technology that utilizes the temperaturedifference in oceans between the warm surface water and the cold water at 1000 m depthto produce electricity. The purpose of this report is to investigate if OTEC with its synergiescould become a commercially feasible energy solution for a small island. A literature reviewis conducted to explore the different OTEC technologies and to what extent the threesynergies; fresh water, air conditioning and aquaculture, could be used. In order to calculatethe profitability of these synergies there is also a study conducted on the conventionalmethods and cost of fresh water production, aquaculture and air conditioning. A model is setup using a scenario of a small tropical Island with population of 100 000 people.

Ireland had, by the year of 1998, been an island of war and conflict to some extent for almost 1000 years. The northeast part of the island, called Northern Ireland, had been under British domination for over 25 years when ?the Troubles? ended by the year of 1998. This essay aims towards explaining how the first generation after ?the Troubles? has been shaped in terms of political and religious beliefs and attitudes in the society of Belfast.

Dairy cows transform grass to milk with help from ruminal microorganisms that can digest indigestible fiber in their feed. The digestive system of the cow is adapted to a diet consisting of forage and disorders like acidosis, laminitis and abomasal displacement can occur if the feed contains too much starch. To achieve the highest production possible the cow has to be given a high amount of concentrate or grain as the difference in milk yield is significant, approximately 1000 kg energy corrected milk per cow and year between conventional and organic cows that are fed a lower versus a higher share of forage. If the cow shall be able to eat the same amount of energy from forage as from grain or concentrate the eating- and rumination time gets longer and she might not be able to eat enough, which will result in a lower milk yield and will make it harder for the cow to recover from the negative energy balance that originate from the beginning of the lactation. Fat and in a sense protein content differs also depending on if the cow is given a high or low share of forage..

This paper deals with monetary development on Gotland during 11th century. The expectation is that by examining five different silver-hoards from various parts of the century it will be able to determine if there are any signs of monetary developments. By examining the silver-hoards weight and comparing the weight difference between the Coined silver, the fragmented coins and other silver objects, this paper determine which of these dominate the silver-hoards in 11thcentury. Apart from the weight comparison an accurate study of the degree of fragmentation on coins in the silver-hoards will give a detailed account on how the people of Gotland treated their coins, if they cut the coins into smaller pieces or if they handled them whole.Apart from the study of the silver-hoards there is a chapter on earlier research where the reader will acquire the knowledge to comprehend the other parts of the paper. Which include a theory chapter where the author discusses what factors need be in place for monetary development to commence and what monetary development imply.

SWITCH- Swedish Intelligibility test for children, is a test thatmeasures intelligibility of children's speech through repetition of singlewords. The test is computer generated and consists of 1000 word listsrandomly selected for each assessment. The purpose of this study was toexamine the equivalence, reliability and validity in the word lists. Word listswere tested on ten children with typical language development (N group)and ten children with speech deviation (T group). The children were audiorecorded when they repeated two lists.

This study aims to assess the normal inflow of extraterrestrial chromite to Earth. The results from the investigationare compared to earlier studies of middle Ordovician Orthoceratite Limestone in which 1 - 3 extraterrestrial chromitegrains ( >63 ?Êm ) per kilogram limestone were found. These values have been interpreted as evidence of a twoorders of magnitude increase in the flux of extraterrestrial matter to Earth during a part of middle Ordovician.From an early Paleocene marine sedimentary sequence with known sedimentation rate in Zumaia, northernSpain, 90,5 kilogram of condensed limestone, dated to about 63 Ma, was sampled. The limestone was dissolved inhydrochloric- and hydrofluoric acid and the residue was sieved and searched for opaque minerals under the binocularmicroscope.

Utifrån en genrestudie av science fiction skapades tre egenskapsgrupper: könsneutral, sexualiserad och aktiv.

Det har gått 20 år sedan katastrofen i Tjernobyl inträffade. Landskapet som förorenades vid katastrofen förlorade det mesta av sin brukbarhet för människan och kan komma att ligga i träda i kanske 1000 år framåt. Hur ska vi komma ihåg platsen och dess historia under så lång tid? Hur ska berättelsen gå från oss, till våra barn, barnbarn, barnbarnsbarn och vidare i kanske 30 generationer. Och vad händer med naturen under tiden? Inifrån zonen har landskapet inte förändrats.

Problembeskrivning: Det finns närmare 500 förlag i Sverige, ca 70 av dessa är anslutna till Svenska Förläggarföreningen som uppger att det ges ut ca 1000 nya skönlitterära titlar i Sverige under ett år. Enligt Nationalbiografin utges ca 2300 titlar under ett år. Endast en bråkdel av all skönlitteratur som ges ut får publicitet i dagstidningar. Varken titlar, författare eller förlag. Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka om det går att urskilja om det finns kriterier och mönster för vilka författare och verk som får uppmärksamhet i pressen.Metod: Kvalitativ forskningsintervjuSlutsats: Vissa författare och förlag har en högre status hos kulturredaktionerna.
