Tillväxt hos inkubatorföretag - En fallstudie av SSE Business Lab
Incubators have grown more popular in recent years. Studies have shown that companies that have been part of an incubator grow faster and have a higher survival rate. The Swedish government realizes that this benefits the economy. Therefore they have started different funding programs in order to support the incubators. The thesis aims to explore the underlying reasons for why companies that have been part of an incubator often experience high growth. This case study looks specifically at one of Sweden's most successful incubators, the SSE Business Lab. The study shows that legitimacy is the most important resource for the startup companies and that the incubators help to build that up. Legitimacy helps the companies to get valuable resources such as customers, capital and motivation. For newly launched ventures legitimacy is a scarce resource and thus the support from incubator comes at a time when the company needs it the most.
