För att tydliggöra och urskilja de förändringar som skett i hur författarna gestaltar sina Vampyrer undersöks Dracula (Stoker, 1897), En Vampyrs bekännelse (Rice, 1976) och Om jag kunde drömma (Meyer, 2005). Även de samhälleliga förändrigar som möjliggjort dessa förändringar, den förändring från folktron till den tidiga Vampyrlitteraturen som skett och förändringen från monster till humanVampyrer undersöks. Detta görs genom närläsning och en deduktiv undersökning samt att narratologi och relevant faktalitteratur har använts som hjälp i vår analys.Resultatet av undersökningen är att Vampyrerna i den tidigaste romanen är monster, men i Rices roman börjar Vampyrgestaltningen humaniseras. Den största skillnaden i de kvinnliga Vampyrernas förändring är att den sensuella gestaltningen anses som något negativt i Dracula, är jämställd mellan könen i Rices roman och inte finns alls i Om jag kunde drömma. De samhälleliga förändringar som skett och som påverkat Vampyrgestaltningen är sekulariseringen och tillvägagånssättet att bli Vampyr skiljer sig mellan folktron och Vampyrlitteraturen.

Efter att ha gjort en del research om Vampyrer, så märkte jag att de ibland kopplats ihop med varulvar, främst inom film men även i en del litteratur. Dock kunde jag inte hitta så mycket skrivet om deras myters sammankoppling, vilket gjorde att jag fick idén till den här uppsatsen. Syftet med min uppsats är att undersöka hur myter skapas i film, vilket jag gjorde genom en undersökning om hur myterna om varulvar och Vampyrer gestaltas i Underworld-filmerna, med fokus på tematiken kring det djuriska och mänskliga. Även om dessa filmer bygger mycket på action, snygga effekter och läskiga monster så finns det ändå en underliggande story som går att koppla till djupare saker. Jag kom fram till att Underworld-filmerna gestaltar Vampyrerna som mer mänskliga och varulvarna mer djuriska.

Syftet med studien har varit att studera 14?16-åriga flickors reception av Stephanie Meyers Twilightserie, för att ge grund för att föreslå annan litteratur, som skulle kunna intressera flickor till fortsatt läsning. The representative democracy has become weakened during the last decades. At the same time the United Nations declared at the Rio de Janeiro meeting in 1992 that environmental problems can best be solved by involvement of all concerned citizens in decision-making. The main purpose of this study has been to examine if citizens panels is a possible way to involve citizens in environmental decision-making and what the outcomes can be. Furthermore the study has investigated what the participation has contributed to environmental politics and how representative the results have been. This has been carried out by investigating the Piteåpanel in the municipality of Piteå by conducting interviews.The result of the study shows that the involvement of the citizens in the decision-making influenced the environmental politics of the municipality.

The conditions for art in Romania have gone through big changes since the collapse of the regime in December of 1989. Under the Communist regime the artists had to work within a dualistic system completely unlike the one that developed in the West during the same period.Similar to the other countries of the former Eastern block, the communist Romanian state had understood the great potential that art has as a form of propaganda. Thus the regime secured full control over the art that would be allowed into the public space. In response to the confines set on the artistic expressions, a non-official art began to develop alongside the official art of the state.These two layers of Romanian art history were dissolved when Ceausescu?s regime finally came to an end in 1989.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate if there might be a possiblecorrelation between young women´s fascination with the vampire narrative andtheir search for identity in the late modern age. With the help of contemporarysociological studies in the field of the late modern man and today?s youth culture,I?ve chosen to do qualitative interviews with eight young women in order to examinehow today?s society affects their process of identification. This master's thesis in Library and Information Science examines how the genre division of the horror fictionis constructed at the children and youth department of a library by studying subject headings of the titles.The aim is to examine what is included in the genre, in the two labelings called vampire and nail-biter/spine-chiller, what separates them, and what difference there is between children and youth thrillers/horror fiction. Also the cover designs and how readers portray these books are studied. The study is made in order to develop the knowledge of the genre to help librarians and borrowers. The great popularity of the genre among borrowers and people in general, and the importance of having knowledge of things that borrowers are interested in, are the motivation of performing the study. The method is a case study and conducted with and based on genre theory which shows how a genre is defined, how it can be divided and what conventions there are for the horror fiction in particular.
