E.ON Elnät has in their project Operational Performance developed a priority Tool forconstruction and operation. The Tool will help the users to increase the capability to prioritybetween new development projects and removal of faults. The Tool can be seen as a measuringfor different bay?s reliability, size and the community usefulness. The result of the priority isdirectly connected to which calibration that is chosen in the Tool.The priority Tool is still under development and there is therefore an uncertainty about howsensitive the Tool is for changes in the calibration.

This thesis describes a Tool for data mining used to optimize ambulance preparedness. The goal with the Tool was that it should be able to retract the information necessary to be able to analyze and calibrate the preparedness model used in the software ResQMap. ResQMap is used by SOS Alarm, who are responsible for the Swedish emergency number 112, as a decision support Tool for ambulance operators. It is developed by Carmenta AB, who are the supervisors of the thesis work. Also, a minor study of the preparedness models variables has been performed in order to be able to evaluate the function of the Tool.

In today?s constantly changing market place most organizations need to reorganize. Reorganization carries risks that could jeopardize the organization's well-being and profitability. To minimize these risks, companies need a Tool to help them analyze how the reorganization will affect the business before they make major changes. Such Tool has now been developed by researchers at KTH.

The Division of Language and Communication at Chalmers uses a web-based language Tool, named EngOnline, to teach English grammar. The language Tool suffers from some shortcomings. These include stability problems and an outdated interface but, above all, there is no documentation. Because of the lack of documentation and EngOnline?s need of maintenance, the Division of Language and Communication has decided to replace the language Tool with a new and well documented one.The new language Tool was developed using an agile work process; detailed documentation was replaced with more efficient communication.

The task for this thesis is to design a Tool that is used to cut-out preforms of thermoplastic adhesive and also to make an estimate of costs for the stamping Tool. The Tool is used in the repair process at the MCM production line. The result of gathered information has affected how the design of the stamping Tool has developed. The handling of thermoplastic adhesive in the repair process is one of the factors that influenced the design. The adhesive is sensitive for exposure to moisture. Therefore an automated feeding system of the adhesive is not recommended. The users wished for an automated stamping Tool.

Many companies do not register all the stops that occur in a production plant, it often takes longer to report than to fix the problem. If no problems are registered, you cannot trace where the problems arise.This master thesis was performed at AcobiaFLUX and they have noticed an increased demand from their customers to trace problems raised in their processes. The aim of the thesis was to find out how a Tool to monitor a process best could be developed. Then the most essential from the theoretical base was developed into a useful Tool for operators. For the operators to know if the process utilizes the full capacity of a process, the Tool presents a measure of the Overall Equipment Efficiency, OEE.

The Tool also allows the user to always be sure that the presentations created with PresenteraMera follows a specific design, based on their graphic manual for example..

The social community is structured around data, a lot of that data is stored in different types of databases. The meaning of this essay is to develop an interactive Tool that will change the way database visualization is done, and also to research in which fields a Tool of this type can be used. With the help of different methods we discovered areas where it could be of use, such as; presentation of a database, development and documentation of a database. The primary goal of the prototype was to make viewing of database structures easier, even people without prior database knowledge should be able to understand the structure. During the development we used prototypes.

In this report you can read about a service company that wants to introduce a new decision Tool for their customers. The first question that will be answered in this report is, what information is needed for market controllers. The second question investigates how a decision Tool that gives the answers to the first question would work. Theories in business and economics written by Jan Lindvall (2001) and sociotechnical work analysis written by Kim Vicente (1999) are used in this report. To find the answers to question number one, interviews with two market controllers were done.

Ethical competence is an important precondition when people are to respond to moral problem situations as efficiently as possible. In these situations it is not easy to make choices and decisions, especially when many stakeholders are involved with various opinions and interests.The purpose of this thesis was to generate a web-based support Tool to train and promote ethical competence of the users of this Tool.We first created a theoretical basis by studying the major theories of ethics in general and ethical competence in particular. The importance of ethical competence and its main subject, namely, the autonomy in the theoretical part described and specified. In addition has the practical ethical reflection over morality preferred and characterized to the classical ethical passivity over morality. We have also preferred and characterized the autonomous thinking to the heteronomous one.Based on the theoretical base a prototype Tool to support the training of ethical competence was designed and developed.

The reindeer planning system (Renbruksplanen, RBP) is a communication and planning Tool designed for Sami groups. A key purpose of this is that it will act as a Tool in consultation with other market players, including forestry. Sami groups have asked for a model of how this can be used in a flexible manner. This is a study of how emotional engagement can be measured and be taken into account in the development of websites. We believe that emotions become relevant only when viewed in correlation to how users experiencing a webpage. In this study, we developed a Tool for use together with user tests where the information about the user's emotional engagement can add new value to the evaluation. The Tool allows the user to mark, on the website, his/her emotions and level of engagement represented by colored circles, generating quantiative data on how users feel about the website. Typically, when Faurecia in Torsås are planning a new assembly line, one of the steps is to build a full-scale model of the line in card board, a form of mock-up planning. Faurecia has shown interest in finding an alternative methodology. The purpose was to explore the possibility of replacing today's cardboard based mock-up planning with models in a digital simulation environment.The purpose of the thesis has been to answer some of these complex questions; What are the benefits of using a simulation Tool? In what way can we use it? If we choose to use a simulation Tool, in what way does it affect our way of planning an assembly line? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are there any economical and social aspects?Our results made us realize that a digital simulation Tool does not replace the card board. On the other hand simulation could be used as a complement.
