The Swedish armed forces has for many years educated Squad leaders by letting them start their training two and a half months before the soldiers start their training. 2007, this system was used for the last time. I went trough this system myself in 2005 and had a positive experience and when I did my internship I experienced a slight difference in the attitude of the Squad leader. I talked with my colleges at the company and they had felt the same. This essay will try to analyse if the Squad leaders has lost any of there ability and if so, what could be the cause? To analyze the ability of the Squad leader in this essay it will first analyze their ability through the Direct leadership theory, which is the theory that is presently used in the Swedish armed forces.

The goal of this master thesis is to show the benefit of using computer games of the type First Person Shooter, FPS in the field of military simulations. The main focus in this is around a couple of topics. Creating the AI that controls the behaviour of the computer-controlled characters, the bots. Create an environment where it is possible to supervise the bots and also design a framework that enables cooperation between a group of bots, a Squad. The result is Total Unreal Studio, TUS, a program where it is possible to add bots to a Squad, connect them to a game server and inspect what the bots are doing.

This paper describes the Swedish reconnaissance Squads in the engineer battalions, their equipment, tasks and organization. An analysis is made to compare the present weapons and fire power of the reconnaissance Squad with an extended weapon alternative. The background to this paper is the events that have taken place in the Swedish area of responsibility in Afghanistan where Swedish troops have been ambushed by the insurgents. Although the troops primarily where riding in Toyota Land Cruisers they had no casualties. I think that the Swedish force needs other vehicles that can be armed and are armoured.When I compared three different types of armoured vehicles, I found that PTGB 6 is the vehicle of choice, according to the special needs that a Swedish EOD-Squad, their task and their equipment have. .

The purpose of this paper is to identify the factors affecting the experience transfer at the rotation of the missions. This is to identify the respective influences are inhibitory factor, which contributes to a less efficient transfer, or if it contributes to a more efficient handover. The method used for the production of this paper is a qualitative case study of Squad leaders who have done service in Kosovo or Afghanistan. Through interviews with focus on the transfer of experience, both on individual and organizational level, the factors that affect are being identified. The model used is expressed in a general perspective, where each factor is categorized as inhibitory or contributing to success, and if it appears on an organizational or individual level.

Samtidigt blev automatkarbiner mer kompakta för att bli mer lämpliga för operationer i urbaniserad terräng och fordonstjänst. Med invasionen av Afghanistan och den därefter följande upprorsbekämpningen upplever många försvarsmakter problem, eftersom striderna sker på antingen väldigt korta eller väldigt långa avstånd. Den ena situationen kräver ett kompakt vapen för SIB medan den andra situationen kräver ett vapen med lång pipa för att kunna uppnå verkan mot en fiende som ofta anfaller från avstånd på 500 meter eller mer.

They perform this work in collaboration with the police and upper secondary schools in Örebro.The purpose of this essay is to investigate and describe this collaboration. More specifically, the purpose is to study the contents of documents of the municipality of Örebro concerning drug prevention aimed at youths through collaboration and compare with the actual work that is carried out by the Youth- and family team through collaboration. Further issues dealt with are possible improvements and if the parties concerned feel a need for a documented structure concerning their way of working.I have used a qualitative method and I have interviewed members of parties concerned.
