Temat för denna studie är tätorters utveckling och regionala rumsliga inordning. Med utgångspunkt i det amerikanska begreppet Sprawl, som brukar användas för att beskriva hur framför allt nordamerikanska städer har utvecklas, har statistik över tätorter i Örebros lokala arbetsmarknadsregion bearbetats och analyserats. Syftet med undersökningen har varit att relatera begreppet Sprawls innebörder till de befolknings-, yt- och täthetsmässiga förändringar som tätorterna i Örebros lokala arbetsmarknadsregion genomgår under perioden 1980-2005 och den rumsliga formering som härmed genereras baserat på dem. Genom att utforska vad som avses med begreppet Sprawl erhålls en tämligen klar bild av den stadsutveckling som begreppet beskriver. Denna beskrivning ligger sedan till grund för hur det statistiska materialet kan analyseras.

Urban Sprawl är ett problem i hela världen. Ekonomi, hälsa, miljö och jordbruksmark är några saker som stadsutbredningen har effekter på (Habibi, 2011). I USA började problemen med urban Sprawl efter andra världskriget när möjligheter till billiga bolån skapades. Detta gjorde att fler människor hade möjlighet att flytta till enfamiljshus i förorterna och användandet av bil som transportmedel ökade (Duany, 2010). Stadsutbredningen i Sverige startade efter andra världskriget då bilismen ökade även här.

External shopping malls in the context of urban Sprawl have, according too much of the previous research, had a negative connotation when it comes to urban planning and a sustainable society. In recent years, some of this research on the issue has changed course towards that it might be some positive opportunities and elements in this development, given that it follows certain patterns. This latter development is what we have chosen to look deeper into in our study, Sustainable urban Sprawl.The shopping mall Allum in Partille center has been the subject of this case study, to explore how people's shopping habits and travels in connection with these purchases has been affected by the establishment of an external shopping mall from a sustainability perspective.The method we used was a questionnaire distributed at workplaces in Partille. The collected data were then analyzed by using some of the dominant urban planning theories, for thus underpin our analysis. We have supplemented the study with a collection of information on existing and planned shopping centers in Gothenburg region.Our study shows that external shopping centers located in already developed areas, with an existing social structure, can help to create a more compact city with fewer and shorter shopping trips, and more sustainable transport choices when purchasing goods and services..

Based on the on the assumption that the two recent Swedish poetry collections mil by Anna Hallberg and mallamerik, mallamer, malameri, mallame, amerik, mallameka, merikka, by Lars Mikael Raattamaa, are constructed with theoretical questions about identity, national identity, language hierarchy and power in mind, this study aims to investigate the ways in which these issues come to expression. Simplified, the term language-poetry, or språkmaterialism, can be used to describe a language-philosophical poetry that aims to eliminate the hierarcic structures between writer and reader in a text and invite the reader to become the co-worker of it. The study shows that by different ways of eliminating the centre of the text, the text is made democratical. But one question that this study asks is how can a nation's conventional and standardised written  language ? the language of the centre ? be used to write itself out of this centre into the margin? Stepping from a theoretical background of postcolonial theories on identity and national identity, including reflections as those given by Benedict Anderson, Madan Sarup, Timothy Brennan, Stefan Helgesson and Mia Cuoto, the analysis points out how this poetry laborates with the terms bugging, repetition, national language identity, and space as poetic material, in order to work in line with ? and contrary to - conceptions of a unified and shared language.

The prevailing urban migration is a worldwide process. This results in growing cities and a diminishing proportion of people living in the countryside. As the urbanization continues a large amount of the world?s population is expected to live in urban settlements of informal character by 2050. Green Belt has for many years been used to control urban growth and to secure the sustention of larger green areas around towns and cities.

In the urban planning debate of today, two strategies for city development stand out as each other's opposites, urban Sprawl and smart growth. This thesis concerns a development project of the latter kind and aims to give an alternative proposal to new buildings and a park in a Swedish city block. The term Sprawl is used for new developments on virgin soil on the outskirts of cities leading to a city spreading, while smart growth stand for increased city density through development on re-used land within the city boundaries. The latter are often seen as more sustainable in many levels and are also shown to have positive effects on a number of city functions. At the same time smart growth has negative consequences on other aspects of the city such as public open spaces.

Bilismen har länge varit en stor del av samhällsplaneringen, vilket betytt att vi människor skapat ett bilberoende som resulterat till vi inte har planerat våra städer på ett optimalt sätt. Konsekvenser som trängsel, miljöföroreningar, urban Sprawl och segragation har blivit ett faktum eftersom stadens markutnyttjande inte varit effektivt. Trots dessa välkända problem fortsätter vi att planera för bilismen där det exempelvis finns regleringar som leder oss rakt in i den. En sådan reglering är parkeringsnormen som bestämmer antalet parkeringsplatser vid ny- eller ombyggnation.I denna uppsats problematiseras parkeringsnormen samt undersöks intressanta diskurser kring parkeringsreglering i kommunala parkeringsplaner för Stockholms stad och Huddinge kommun med en diskursanalys.Resultatet för uppsatsen visar att Stockholms stad och Huddinge kommun använder sig av värdeladdade ord som visar ett ställningstagande för vissa parkeringsåtgärder. Därmed är det tydligt att de båda kommunerna använder beteendepåverkande åtgärder för att exempelvis minska bilanvändandet. .

In this literature review the cemetery is studied in its role as a public space in an urban context. To be able to scrutinize the cemetery?s relationship to the public domain in the future, the cemetery?s background and history is studied in the beginning of the essay. The cemetery?s connection to the church, as well as a variety of other factors such as economic, architecture, hygienic aspects and different ideals has influenced the cemetery to be the place it is today.

Denna uppsats visar att det finns hyresskillnader mellan områden i Örebro trots att en hyresreglering råder. Dessa hyresskillnader kan förstärka boendesegregering som i sin tur kan leda till ökad skolsegregering. Eftersom skolsegregering kan leda till skillnader i utbildningsresultat kan detta på sikt bidra till ytterligare inkomstskillnader och boendesegregering. Ett särskilt problem är att personer och familjer som erhåller försörjningsstöd begränsas i sina val av bostad samt skola. I uppsatsen studeras hur denna regel slår i Örebro.

As the contemporary discourse surrounding urbanism is almost exclusively focusing on aspects of density and traditional urban qualities, it entrenches notions of what constitutes a proper city and countryside. But beyond this urban-rural dichotomy is another highly contemporary landscape. A territory usually mentioned as Sprawl, peri-urban, wasteland, edge city, etc. Although its existence is due to mobilization, telecommunications, globalization and other phenomena of modern life, it is a landscape without an own name or place in public awareness.This thesis provides a case study of how to map and intervene in such a landscape, specifically along the border between Malmö and Burlöv municipalities in southern Sweden. Its structure is composed of a sequence of three parts:1 Spatial Conditions:Divided up in the sections Network, Fringe and Void.
