The aim of this study was to illuminate critical factors that facilitate respectively obstruct the Novice nurse's development during her first year in the profession. The method used was a systematic literature review according to Goodman's model. The 8 qualitative scientific articles were scrutinized by using a form developed by Pedersen and Sigling (2002). The result shows that cognitive factors, stress, social factors as well as affective factors are critical during the Novice nurse's first professional year. The results are related to Antonovsky's concept sense of coherence..

This project report describes a supplement for character creation in a tabletop role-playing game ?Dragons and Demons." The purpose of this project is to improve the character creation for the players? trough the narrative elements such as character?s background story. The applied qualitative methods such as a test panel and a questionnaire were conducted for the evaluation of theories used during character creation and to get feedback on the supplement?s creative value for the players. The aim of the questionnaire was to see how the method for the character creation differs from the regular way of making a character for a tabletop role-playing game and if this idea improves user experience during the tabletop role-playing game.The results of the evaluation are based on answers from Novice and experienced players, and conclude that the additional background story creates an insight into the character's past, which makes it easier for Novice players to get quick started with character creation.

The aim of this study was to find out if hypertext structure has any relevance for the efficiency of information retrieval. An experiment, in which three variants of hypertext structure were compared, was carried out in the autumn of 1998. Three websites with different structures were constructed for this purpose: a sequential version, a hierarchical version and a webcluster version. 44 subjects, all students at the University of Lund, were randomly divided into three groups. Subjects were requiered to answer a number of questions using one of the three versions.

I answer this question by exploring how social worker proficiency can be developed and grow with the help and support of supervisors, clients and colleagues. Development through professional supervision and in the encounter with clients is an essential part of the work. I also discuss what it means to be new in the field (a Novice) in relation to being experienced (a master).

This study has been conducted in order to try to clarify how one as a piano teacher, by the choice of teaching material and method of teaching, can influence the process of learning. The study deals with Novice teaching and more specifically first semester teaching. I have studied three books, their methods and how they take on the task of introducing music and piano playing to Novice students. I studied three groups of Novice piano students during the autumn of 2005. For twelve lessons each class worked with one of the following three books: "Vi spelar piano 1" by Carl-Bertil Agnestig, "Pianogehör 1" by Åsa Söderqvist- Spering and "Spela piano med ADAM".

Syftet med studien var att skapa en ökad förståelse för nybörjartränares upplevda orsaker till coaching efficacy. Frågeställningar var: (1) Vilka orsaker upplever nybörjartränare bidrog till deras coaching efficay som gjorde att de tog på sig tränaruppdraget?; (2) Vilka orsaker upplever nybörjartränare ökar respektive minskar deras coaching efficacy?; och (3) vilka attributionsmönster använder nybörjartränare sig av i förhållande till de orsaker de upplever ökar respektive minskar deras coaching efficacy. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes på fem nybörjartränare. En induktiv analys genomfördes.

This work is designed to monitor developments in the relationship between teacher and student in the school environment, but also outside, from the 1950s until today. The survey was based on four interviews with teachers in the same age, and based on their life stories. Their experiences range from student to Novice teachers and a long working life until retirement. In addition, all four children has a parent perspective. The following issues have been focused:                      1.What factors have been crucial in teaching elevrelationens development from the 1950s up     to today?                      2.

This paper aims to shine a light on the challenges connected to the implementation of a process focused way of thinking in a public service organization. To this we have conducted a series of qualitative interviews, primarily from participants of a university driven project. The project aims to teach decision making employees of public service organizations how to use process modeling techniques to increase their efficiency. We have also interviewed the teachers who have taught the courses included in the project. As a final point of view we have also interviewed a researcher and IT consultants to compare Novice users with experienced users of process modeling techniques.

Background The aim of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and her next of kin during the patient?s end of life. Palliative care rests on the four cornerstones managing symptoms, communication and relationship, teamwork and relative support. The nurses? task is to assess the patients? physical, mental and spiritual needs according to these four cornerstones.Aim To assess nurses? experiences of treating patients at the end of life.Method Eleven academic journals that respond to the aim has been analyzed and synthesized in a literature review in order to summarize current research on the subject.

Palliativ vård är en speciell vårdform som inriktar sig på att ge lindrande vård till patienter som lever med en livshotande sjukdom. Den inriktar sig på att lindra patientens obehag och lidande, öka välbefinnandet och skapa förutsättningar för en förbättrad livskvalité. Själva sjukdomen står inte i fokus i den palliativa vården och den erbjuds därför människor med obotlig livshotande sjukdom. Syfte: Syftet var att genom en litteraturstudie beskriva faktorer som sjuksköterskor anger upplevelsen av palliativ vård. Metod: För att ge en objektiv och systematiserad sammanfattning av den befintliga kunskapen görs en litteraturstudie.

Bakgrund: Att utvecklas från student till sjuksköterska är något som sker i flera steg. Utbildningen har fokus på teori och de nya sjuksköterskorna har svårt att överföra teoretiska och praktiska kunskaper in i praktiken och känner därmed att de inte kan uppfylla de krav och förväntningar som ställs på dem inom professionen.Syfte: Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie var att belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vara ny i yrket.Metod: En empirisk studie med kvalitativ ansats och en beskrivande design. Fem nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskor intervjuades och datan analyserades genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: Fyra kategorier beskriver upplevelsen av att vara ny i yrket: (1) Känslor kring sjuksköterskerollen,(2) Stöd på arbetsplatsen, (3) Från ny till en i vårdteamet och (4) Kraven inom professionen. Slutsats: Studiens resultat visar att det är en utmaning för nya sjuksköterskor att kunna balansera mellan deras självupplevda kunskapsnivå och de krav som sjukvården och professionen ställer på dem. Det är inte utbildningen i sig som bidrar till att deras kunskaper inte upplevs som tillräckliga, utan ett flertal olika faktorer.Klinisk betydelse: Studien riktar sig främst till sjuksköterskor, verksamma lärare och chefer inom sjukvården med intresse för hur nya sjuksköterskor upplever den första tiden i yrket..

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur barns språk främjas och utvecklas hos förskolans yngsta barn och på vilket sätt detta genomförs i praktiken på förskolan. Studien genomförs med fokus på innehållet i samlingar. Samlingarnas innehåll analyseras med Vygotskijs teori i åtanke genom att intervjua förskollärare och observera samlingar med fokus på de tre teoretiska begreppen involvering, delaktighet och autonomi. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna använder sig av principerna involvering, delaktighet och autonomi genom samlingarnas olika återkommande aktiviteter såsom upprop, högläsning, ramsa, sånglek och avslutning. Studien visar även att förskollärarna följer två olika modeller som består av Bornholmsmodellen och förskollärarnas egen modell.

This report describes how I worked with a spatial information problem, where the focus was to produce clearer barriers between horses and spectators at equestrian competitions. My background as a competition rider, combined with my knowledge of the spatial design, has caused me to react to how the information on riding and racing facilities deficiencies. Experienced people in the riding know how they should act with the horse. But Novices who are unfamiliar with the situation is not aware of the risks it may pose to move among horses. The study was conducted on the national facility Strömsholm which both experienced and Novice equestrian visits.

There is respect for the history of dance and my aim is to find out how the history affects the dancing youth today. The design of the dance lesson is often of a traditional stereotypical manner, both didactic and methodic, and it rarely appears to be questioned. I have danced for almost 20 years and I am a part of this tradition of movements, music, language and way of ?being?. My ambition with this study is to go outside my own experience and offer insight and an overall picture of a, for the outsider, closed world.

Bakgrund: Det finns väl rapporterat kunskap och teoribildningar om sjuksköterskans övergång från utbildningen till det praktiska yrkesutövandet. Den kunskap som saknas är bland annat hur den nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskan upplever sina förmågor i praxis, särskilt i relation till god vård och omvårdnad. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att belysa den nyutexaminerade sjuksköterskans upplevelser av sin kunskap i relation till kraven på säker vård och omvårdnad. Metod: Studien genomfördes som litteraturöversikt som bygger på nio vetenskapliga artiklar. Analysmetoden var deduktiv innehållsanalys (template analysis; Malterud,1998).
