Hur fungerar en glaselektrod?

To understand the Glass electrode needs knowledge from more than one level. The construction ofthe Glass electrode is one part, an other is the composition and structure of Glass. This degree project has been carried out in cooperation with Gedevelop in Helsingborg.Gedevelop has developed a camera that can calculate the weight of a liquid Glass mass.Because of the density and viscosity changes in the Glass, the weight information issometimes incorrect given. Glass industry is today addressing the problem by an operatorperforming a manual weighing of a few bottles which, in turn, calibrates the camera system.The project aimed to develop an automated system to control the weighing of Glass bottles forGlass industries. This system must be so flexible that it can be easily mounted on plants withdifferent production equipment around the world.The project includes design and construction of equipment that meets the requirementsformulated together with Gedevelop. Work has been done both in Halmstad and Helsingborgand has included both calculations and review of the theory to understand the forces thatinfluence the design of different construction parts. A prototype was produced that meets theoperating requirements for the design and can be used in testing features.

Textil och glas ? ett universum

This work is about presenting the weave in a new and different context, by bringing textile and Glass together. The work is characterized by material and shape experiments with silver and copper weave and hand blown Glass. From experiments and sketches, the work has resulted in four sculptures, symbolizing four selected stages in a lifecycle; the birth, the development, the maturity and the death. One important part of the work has been to combine different materials and techniques.Studies of literature, sketching, handweaving and integration of silver and copper weave in the Glass have been important methods in the working process. Inspired by the flower, the human being and the universe, a story about the life cycle has taken shape.The paper describes the working process with choices and analyses.

This work describes a series of Glasses, both for people withvisual handicap, and the Glasses are not only limited for use onlyby people with poor sight.I have, based on the course Senses, done research and lookedinto how to design Glasses for visual handicapped people interms of function, look and expression.I have elaborated with several different Glasses and performedmany experiments to come up with my final result, consisting ofa series of Glasses.The Glasses in the series are made with a weight on one side, onestep on the bottom to get the possibility for the Glass to tilt over,which enables you to both hear and see when you have reach acertain amount of substance in the Glass.It has also been important for me that the Glasses express somethingand get an individual identity.The result became Glasses for whiskey, coffee, shots and mullwine..

Glass has sophisticated front properties and are used as facades in high buildings. During cold periods, these Glass facades could cause thermal discomfort, due to cold downdraught. Cold downdraught can be countered by placing heaters under Glass surfaces. Nowadays technology offers highly insulating windows, which is why there is an interest to investigate the indoor climate with only underfloor heating. The research in this area is limited, and few empirical methods are available.

Shoplifting is a serious problem due to the fact that about 2 % of a retail store's turnaround dis-appears annually. This paper discusses the problem with shoplifting where a closed retail display of Glass can prevent this kind of misbehavior. Hitherto the scientific research regarding how consumers react to a closed retail display is non-existing. With this in mind we want to investigate and enlighten the phenomenon regarding consumer behavior and product appreciation. The study is carried out at a retailer in the beauty industry in Sweden both in stores where the selection of perfumes have been displayed behind Glass and in stores in which they have been displayed with open access.

EN JÄMFÖRELSESTUDIE AV PLAST- OCH GLASHEMOCYTOMETRAR FÖR BERÄKNING AV BLODCELLER I VENÖST OCH KAPILLÄRT HELBLOD

Hematology-instruments that analyze blood cells can at specific cases be followed by manual counting with a hemocytometer. The plastic hemocytometer which has a fixed coverslip and is assigned for disposable use, appears to reduce the problems arising from the use of the traditional Glass hemocytometer, for instance coverslip-application difficulty and dust particles. Capillary whole blood sampling may be useful for patients at the emergency department and in addition, a smaller volume of blood is taken compared to venous blood sampling. This study will focus on the platelet- and leukocyte count (PLT and WBC) in venous and capillary blood, in order to compare the plastic- and Glass hemocytometers with Sysmex XN-2000 (Sysmex Corporation, Kobe, Japan), and verify if capillary whole blood sampling can be used for the measurement of these hematological parameters. 30 subjects donated both capillary- and venous blood samples and these blood samples were analyzed with Glass- and plastic hemocytometers with Sysmex XN-2000 as the reference method.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to find out how pupils give expression of a water cycle model and if the model causes any misunderstanding. Two problems constitute the starting point for this investigation. The first question is: how do the pupils explain the water cycle with the help of the jar model (can of Glass). The other question is: can the children see any similarities between the can of Glass and our earth. Qualitative semi structured interviews with seven pupils in the ages of 8-9 have been used to show the pupils? own thoughts and how they express them.

This report describes a new foundation method and compares it with a traditional founding of concrete. This new method is called the Koljern technique and uses cellular Glass which is called Foamglas. The Foamglas is compounded to founding elements by lightweight steel beams. Foamglas is an insulation material with high compressive strength, and is rot, insect, vermin and acid proof. The cellular Glass is also fire proof and watertight, which makes it a very good construction material.The report contains a study of a number of cases for which the Koljern technique is compared with a foundation of concrete.

The changes shall result in improved work environment and increased product quality. The method contains value stream mapping, concept selection and P-FMEA and complies with Emhart Glass goal to become a more Lean focused business.

Fönster mot naturen : den landskapliga infattningen av Bruno Mathssons glashus i Kosta

The main purpose with this thesis has been to study the design philosophy of Bruno Mathsson, how he worked with his houses and the landscape surrounding them and which kind of inspiration sources he had. My work started when I during the autumn 2004 got involved in an existing project related to one of his Glass houses. The Glass house is situated in Kosta and has during the last fifteen years suffered from so much vandalism and decay that it has become a problem for the municipality of Lessebo. The intentions are to restore the house and to transform it to a center for Swedish design, also containing a store and a café as well as hosting one apartment for scholarship students. My task in this project was to form and develop the outdoor environment in connection to the house.

Emhart Glass Sweden AB är uppdelade i två enheter, en i Örebro och en i Sundsvall. Detta examensarbete är utfört under hösten 2005 på Emhart Glass Sweden AB i Sundsvall. Det finns en allt tydligare insikt om att möjligheterna att nå hög kvalitet är kopplade till den arbetsmiljö och de möjligheter till arbetsutveckling som företaget kan erbjuda.
