Emhart Glass är världens främsta tillverkare av processutrustning för tillverkning av glasflaskor, glasburkar mm. Emhart Glass innefattar Emhart Glass Sweden AB som är koncernens producent av tekniskt och kvalitativt ledande glasformningsmaskiner, utrustning för ombyggnationer samt reservdelar. Emhart Glass Sweden AB är uppdelade i två enheter, en i Örebro och en i Sundsvall. Detta examensarbete är utfört under hösten 2005 på Emhart Glass Sweden AB i Sundsvall. Det finns en allt tydligare insikt om att möjligheterna att nå hög kvalitet är kopplade till den arbetsmiljö och de möjligheter till arbetsutveckling som företaget kan erbjuda. Motivation, delaktighet och engagemang är tre begrepp som står nära sammankopplade såväl med varandra som med kvalitet och tillfredställelse hos kund och medarbetare.

I am a Glassblower and I am a woman. In this project I've been working with alternative representations of the female body, muscles and technology. Mouthblown objects contains traces of body and form representations.I've been using muscle sensors to collect data from my arms while I blow Glass. A special has made 3D-models from the collected data and I've blown these viritual objects in Glass.My work is based around issues like: What happens when I measure my muscles? Am I (and my process) affected by the data gathering? How can I create alternative representations of the female body? What is the relation between Glassblowing, the objects, body and gender?.

De områden som denna studie har valt att fokusera på är de säkerhetsfrågor som kan komma att uppstå gällande produkten. This examination paper is the account for the author?s work while arranging and registrating the business archives and business records of the Herman Bergman?s Foundry in Stockholm, Sweden. It is part of the one year Masters program in Archival Science at the University of Uppsala. The records are from the beginning of the 1900s to the 1970s. Most of the business archives are from he 1940s to the 1950s.

The aim of this Master´s thesis in Art History and Visual Studies is to examine the existence and theexpressions of openness and interior space in the contemporary Swedish architecture of singlefamilyhouses. Research has focused on open-plan housing with open connections between kitchenand living areas, large windows, walls of Glass, high ceiling heights and entresol or loft levels, usingtwo case studies and analyses of seven reference objects. Interpretation is based onphenomenological theoretical perspectives.Houses that are more or less transparent permit views from both the inside and the outside. Adiscussion of this potential dilemma is supported by sociological perspectives on identity, life-style,self-presentation, privacy and publicity..

This thesis revolves around my work Desirable Objects, an installation in Glass and other materials, which deals with objectification based on female and animal trophies. The topics included are those that have been crucial to my working process; craft, post-colonial studies and European hierarchical dualism, where woman and nature are seen as connected, but inferior. My motivation has been to get a better understanding of underlying power structures, and put this knowledge in relation to my own work. This process has led me to make a full body casting of my own body as a method of self-exploitation, in an attempt to expose myself to a similar power perspective. By making the dualistic connection between woman and nature, I am commenting a phenomenon that in my view has resulted in a similar exploitation of both..

The present project was initiated with the aim to create pattern modules for use in public environments. My intention was to let the properties, of the specific materials used, have a marked influence on the realisation of the final form. I also wanted to find a material, which is suitable from the perspective of sustainabilityand possibilities to create modules from it. The work was initiated with a study of some candidate materials and many sketches before I finally made my choice. My decision was clear after a visit to the company Glasfabriken inKalmar.

Bucher Emhart Glass erbjuder i dagsläget sina kunder fyra olika typer av maskiner, de äldre IS och AIS samt de nyare NIS och BIS. Maskinerna kan producera upp till en miljon glasflaskor per dygn.Bucher Emhart Glass har fabriker i Sundsvall, Örebro och i Malaysia. There is a new beverage container on the market, a bottle made out of pure aluminum as a replacement for the traditional container made out of Glass. This new container has the potential to reduce both cost and pollution during transportation, the lighter and stronger construction has every advantage compared to the old one in Glass. The new container has every possibility to make it on the market. Some of the biggest brands within the soft drink market already use these bottles in countries without any recycling demands like: Coca-Cola, Heineken and Pepsi. The only thing stopping these brands from the Swedish market is the lack of a functional return system, there is only one company that uses the bottle in Sweden today and they take care of their own used bottles.

This thesis examines the environmental benefits resulting from the choice of environmental certification scheme, with focus on energy. This was carried out by studying the measures that were implemented as a result of the certification of Sweco's three largest office buildings in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The office property in Stockholm has been certified with the Swedish Environmental Building, Gothenburg with the British BREEAM and Malmö with the U.S system LEED.The results from the study indicate that an environmental certification can reduce the energy consumption by up to 59 percent and the water consumption by 20 to 66 percent. However; the interviews, literature study and simulations in MATLAB indicate that the size and scope of these environmental benefits depend on several identified factors: the type of building and its conditions, system selection, grade level, the choice of indicators, the ambition of those involved and when in time the certification process begins. The comparison between Environmental Building, LEED and BREEAM showed that Environmental Building for the office property in Stockholm gave the largest environmental benefit in terms of reduced energy consumption thanks to several large measures.

Resurssnål produktion är en teori om hur produktionsplanering i ett företag kan förbättras, vilket syftar till att öka effektiviteten och skapa en bättre arbetssituation för medarbetarna i företaget. Examensarbetets övergripande syfte har varit att med stöd i denna teori ta fram ett optimerat och verklighetstroget truckkörschema för dagens interna transporter vid Emhart Glass i Sundsvall. Målsättningen har varit att jämföra de interna transporterna med de behov som finns i företaget, att identifiera hur ofta transporter av tomma lastpallar sker samt att klar-göra om en dubbelpallshantering innebär tidsmässigt vinst. En kart-läggning av de interna transporterna och arbetsställenas behov av lastpallar har genomförts. Informationen från kartläggningen har implementerats i programmet Matlab, där en algoritm för beräkning av ett körschema har skapats som tar hänsyn till dagens tidshantering av lastpallar och sannolikheten att truckförarna lastar av och på lastpallar vid olika arbetsställen.

 The intention of this paper is to explore the contacts between the Swedish province of Scania and Southeastern Europe in the Migration Period. This has been done through comparative studies of four object categories. Parallels to Glass, horse trappings, jewellery with inlays and sword decorations found in Scania have been studied in southeastern and centralEurope, as well as the cultures of peoples involved in the Migration processes. The conclusion is that contacts were upheld in several ways: through trade, exchange, alliances and gifts. Old trade routes along the Vistula were used in the south-easterly direction to the Pontic area but were changed to the Moravian Gatein the latter half of the period, while westerly routes probably worked most of the time.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att genom kartläggning och analys av det fysiska och administrativa flödet av motorer ta fram en layout som förenklar och förbättrar plockning och spårning.

Åfors Glasswork was a company which started in 1876 and closed in 2012 due to the bad economical situation in the company. After its closure, the Glasswork left behind contaminated soil with different concentrations of heavy metals such as, arsenic from arsenic trioxide, a chemical used to remove bubbles during the melting of Glass, and lead oxide, a chemical used in the production of crystal Glass. Crystal Glass?s production occurred under 1921-1971, but emissions of lead into the air from Åfors Glasswork continued until 2011, because of the artist Bertil Valliens? artglas was made in Åfors Glasswork from 1970?s and onwards.The aim of this study was to estimate how much lead (Pb) and arsenic (As) that were released by Åfors Glasswork into the atmosphere during the operational period of the Glasswork in comparison with how much of lead and arsenic were purchased for the company. Added to the assistance of the data from National Archives the variations in the activities of Åfors Glasswork could be shown.
