People with Disabilities constitute a big group of Internet users. Due to great advances in adaptive technology for people with Disabilities more and more disabled will have access to Internet. For that reason it is extremely important for a web developer to be aware of different Disabilities that complicate or prevent using Internet, different adaptive technologies that facilitate using Internet and different methods, both in design and programming, that make Internet accessible for people with Disabilities.In this report we have dealt with three problems:? Which types of Disabilities that complicate or prevent using Internet?? Which types of adaptive technologies are available concerning using Internet?? How can a web developer or programmer increase the accessibility to Internet for people with Disabilities?To investigate how disabled people use adaptive technologies and which difficulties they experience when using Internet we have interviewed people with various types of Disabilities..

A sample of 67 parents of children with Disabilities and 134 parents of children without Disabilities took part in the questionnaire study.

This study is a study of the assessment and grading of Swedish students with physical Disabilities in physical education. The purpose of the study has been to look into how teachers assess and grade students with physical Disabilities, and if there are any difficulties or problems in this assessment and grading. Focus has been on students in year three to six because this is where the assessments and grading take place. It?s a qualitative study, where eight teachers have been interviewed using a semi-structured interview model.

The aim of this study was to examine the possibilities to enter the regular labour market for pupils and young adults with intellectual Disabilities. The method used is tape-recorded qualitative interviews with; Two pupils with intellectual Disabilities, studying the last year at a special school. Two young adults with intellectual Disabilities, former pupils at a special school and at the moment in search of work at a Public Employment Service office for young adults with Disabilities. Furthermore were interviews made with two professionals, one student counsellor at a special school and one representative at a Public Employment Service office for young adults with Disabilities. For analysing the empirical data, Iris Marion Young's theory about Five Faces of Oppression, Crip theory and Dalrymple and Burkes theory about empowerment was used.

Previous research has indicated that intellectual Disabilities and parenting is not socially accepted and compulsory care of children often occurs in families where one or both parents have an intellectual disability. This study aims to, thru a document analysis, investigate ideas and representations of parents with intellectual Disabilities that emerge in Swedish legal cases. The legal cases is about children who are taken care of according to LVU § 2, where one or both parents have a intellectual disability. The results of the study revealed that people with intellectual Disabilities are seen as not capable of developing parenting ability, in some cases aroused concerns about parenting during pregnancy, these suggesting stereotypes of parents with intellectual Disabilities. Of the documents reveals that social workers word overrides in the decision-making, this leads to a position of power where the parents are at a disadvantage..

Det Osynliga Våldet : - socialarbetares syn på kvinnor med funktionsnedsättning och deras utsatthet för våld i nära relationer

The aim of this study was to highlighting social workers perceptions of women with Disabilities and their vulnerability to domestic violence - and thereby problematize previous research on gender-based violence on the basis of category of functional ability. We designed this study by using a qualitative approach based on six semi-structed interviews with professionals from different professions. All of them have contact with women with Disabilities in some way. The selection was based on gaining an understanding of the social worker?s perceptions regarding abused women with Disabilities based on their different professional experiences.

Läsförmåga hos vuxna med intellektuell och/eller kommunikativ funktionsnedsättning som deltar i daglig verksamhet

The aim of the study was to examine the reading ability of adultswith intellectual and/or communicative Disabilities. The group adults withintellectual and/or communicative Disabilities consisted of 66 individuals.One control group consisting of 36 children aged 7 to 12 years and onereference group consisting of 14 adults were used. Participants were given anumber of language and reading related tests. Adults with intellectual and/orcommunicative Disabilities had significantly lower results than the adultreference group regarding all tests and significantly lower results than thechild control group regarding phonological processing. There was nodifference between adults with intellectual and/or communicative Disabilitiesand the child comparison group regarding word decoding and readingcomprehension.

The aim of our study has been to investigate what kind of space there is to exert influence for adult persons with mild intellectual Disabilities who live on group housing. We wanted to investigate what kind of hindrance and possibilities there were to exert influence for people on group housing. Our study has been built on qualitative group discussions with 9 persons with mild intellectual Disabilities and 6 care-keepers. We have analysed our discussions on the basis of the theory of empowerment. Our result indicates that there is different kind of factors that affect the possibilities for people with mild intellectual Disabilities to increase their influence, and it does not always have to do with the disability how the persons can make their voices heard.

En högskola för alla?En studie om hur studenter med funktionshinder upplever sin studiesituation på Högskolan Kristianstad

AbstractThe purpose of our study was to get a deeper understanding and a better knowledge about the study situation students with Disabilities experience at the University of Kristianstad. Our choice was to focus on their experience of the supporting measures, the accessibility and how they felt they were met by both students and teachers. It was a qualitative study and it was based on interviews with eight students with Disabilities at the University in Kristianstad. In the study we have used the theoretical concept of empowerment as an analysis tool. The different kinds of support the students with Disabilities were using were in common described as positive and the students thought that the supporting measures helped them getting more independent.

Hamnar syskon till personer med funktionshinder i skymundan? : En kvalitativ studie där stöd till syskon studeras

Siblings of persons with Disabilities tend to be sidelined and not get the same attention in the same amount as the child with the disability gets, both by the parents and the society. Previous research in this area is limited and siblings of people with Disabilities and their experiences of support needs to be explored. The purpose of this paper is to learn about support for siblings of people with Disabilities in terms of both adult siblings own experiences from his childhood and from practitioners experience. Six qualitative interviews with four adult siblings of people with Disabilities and two professionals were interviewed. Systems Theory and Bronfenbrenners ecological model has provided the theoretical basis for the essay.

AbstractDuring my university trip to South Africa I visit a black township called Lingehlile. There I examined the life situation and education for children and youth with mentally Disabilities. I was interested in knowing more about what basic condition they have, period of school and what kind of support they get outside the school. The subjects that I have handled are a school for all, support for the person with mentally Disabilities and their family, the opinion of the society, education and life after school. I got my result by two interviews.

I focus on the subject communication and the parts about speech, conversation and interaction. My study is based on a qualitative study.

"Tänk så bodde man kvar hela livet" : Tankar kring eget boende hos ungdomar i gymnasiesärskolan

The last 1½ decade young people with intellectual Disabilities have been a part of my life. My now 13 year old son and several pupils I have taught as a teacher in the compulsory school. Their future and what will affect their lives has always been interesting to me. How do I affect them, why do I do the things I do and think the way I think? This study springs out of that curiosity.
