When a Crisis hits a company, it is very important that the company communicate with its customers. Communication is important for a company in Crisis because this is a way for the company to tell their side of the story and thereby try to get the customers to see things their way. Because mass media reaches a lot of people, it is a simple and fast way for companies in Crisis to get their message out to the world. Mass media can be very useful for a company, but it can also be a problem. Mass media and companies in Crisis may or may not have the same purpose with the communication.

Att upprätthålla krisberedskap : En studie av E.ONs krisorganisation

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how organisations can keep their Crisis preparedness alert although crises do not occur often. A Crisis organisation will lay dormant within a larger organisation for long periods of time. This may cause a problem when a Crisis does occur if the preparedness has not been kept alive.From previous researchers that we have studied within this field we have identified two distinct methods to do this. The first focuses on the importance of detailed Crisis plans, while the other method suggests that it is more essential to develop specific competencies with the employees. We also find that keeping knowledge within an organisation is a matter of organisational learning and memory which we therefore discuss and analyse.We have performed an interview study at E.ON in Örebro, and we have also had the opportunity to read E.ON?s Crisis plan.

Riskuppfattning och krisberedskap bland personal på gymnasieskolor

The study examines risk perception and Crisis preparedness among personnel at high-schools. The focus is set on teachers and leaders at four high-schools in Örebro municipality, Sweden. The purpose of the study is to examine Crisis preparedness and identify factors which influences risk perception and Crisis preparedness. The survey consisted of a questionnaire which was completed by 95 respondents. The results show that better information about the Crisis preparedness in the schools is needed.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the Crisis communication was perceived between SAS, massmedia and citizens during the volcano Crisis in 2010. The questions posed are: - How did the communication between SAS, media and citizens function during the Crisis? - How did senders, intermediaries and beneficiaries experience the information and communication during the Crisis? - How important was the internet communication for SAS, media and citizens during the Crisis?The collected material consists of interviews and desktop research of material from Internet.The study shows that the communication between SAS, the media and citizens worked well on the social medias but was weaker in all other mediachannels. SAS was also weak in following up information received by media and travelers, and they therefore they had a different picture of the situation during the Crisis. SAS thought that the communication worked fine between the parties involved.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the school as a whole is working with Crisis management. The purpose includes examining the readiness of both school teachers and leisure educators when it comes to dealing with crises that children undergo and also to study how they best can provide support for those children. Accordingly, this thesis aims to provide an insight into what the school's work with Crisis management might look like. The basis of this thesis consists of six qualitative interviews with a principal, a school counselor, two class teachers and two leisure educators. The study shows that it is important to have a functioning Crisis team and a well-made emergency preparedness plan, which the school in this study is considered to have. The Crisis group is responsible throughout the Crisis work, attends trainings and updates the emergency plan.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate what preschool teachers now about children in Crisis and and how to manage Crisis. It´s also about what children in preschool understand about death. Literature studies have been made to get a better idea about what to do when you are in the middle of a Crisis situation and to find out how children reacts when they are in grief. Four preschool teachers have been interviewed from two different preschools and three children at the same preschool. The interviews show theire knowledge about preschool children in Crisis and how to deal whit the Crisis.

Krisberedskap i grundskolan : perspektiv på krishantering

A Crisis is something that can happen to all of us in an unexpected situation, and the school should be prepared in a way that is the best way to handle a situation with a wide foundation through a Crisis plan. On a well-defined way, you should have a developed and relevant emergency plan. Defining the word Crisis can be difficult, it is an individual interpretation, and to get found out what the word stands for and it have to be discussed. The two selected schools that I have chosen to interview have discussed the understanding of the word Crisis in able to get what the word means for them. The two selected schools have come to the conclusion that a Crisis is something that creates disturbances for people or a person concerned to the everyday way of living.

"Vattnet är slut!" : En studie om hur kriskommunikationen fungerade mellan involverade aktörer under vattenläckan i Kalmar 17-18 december, 2010

Introduction:During a Crisis in the society, the communication from the responsible authorities is of big importance. This study shows how the authorities worked with their Crisis communication towards the general public during the waterleak in Kalmar in december, 2010.Purpose:The purpose of this study is to investigate how the responsible authorities in Kalmar worked with their Crisis communication during the waterleak and also how the general public perceived the Crisis communication.Methodology:The study is based on a combination of a qualitative and a quantitative methodology. We begin to work with qualitative interviews with the responsible authorities to get information about the actual event and their work with the Crisis communication towards the general public through the mass media. Then we investigate how the general public in Kalmar perceived the Crisis communication from the responsible authorities and compare these two results.Conclusion:The study shows that there were several problems, both internally and externally, with the Crisis communication from the responsible authorities during the waterleak. Although some people were dissatisified with the responsible authorities Crisis communication, the majority were pleased and very satisfied with the information they got from the responsible authorities during the waterleak..

Crisis communication in today's society is an important element for organizations. Whether an organization makes it through a Crisis, good or bad is largely based on their Crisis communication work. Crisis communication is about how the organization works to repair or maintain the organization's external image, the image that society has about the organization. When a Crisis occurs stakeholders lose confidence in the organization or change their mind about it.This case study is about exploring how a municipality handles Crisis communication through the various phases of a Crisis. The study is also to examine how the municipality communicates with its stakeholders in specific communication channels during a Crisis.The case study makes use of theories circulating Crisis communication, such as: theories of how Crisis communication should be handled, how a Crisis is recognized, the different phases of a Crisis, the communication channels that can be used and who may be interested in an organization when a Crisis reveals itself.
