Klassrelevans -Föreställningar kring klass på Lunds Socialförvaltning

This thesis is based on the conception that Class is relevant. The thesis discussesClass relevance and consciousness of Class amongst personal at the department ofsocial welfare in Lund.I have studied different theories of Class from Karl Marx, Max Weber and PierreBourdieu. The study´s empirical survey is based on interviews with the personalat the department of social welfare in Lund. Then I have applied their view onClass on models based on the theories mentioned above.Out of my analysis I can draw the conclusion that the consciousness of Class ishigh and that the applied models matches the interviewed personal. An importantaspect is that Class perspective is bound to Class.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine a proposal for basic Class 4 in UDC, which has been empty since 1964, and to pick out a negotiable subject for that proposal. The proposal is analysed from a theoretical perspective based on principles created by S. R. Ranganathan. Three principles are used.

This essay is an in-depth, qualitative study concerned with questions about female ?Class-travellers?. A Class-traveller is a person who is born and raised in a particular social Class but changes his/her social belonging through studies, marriage etc. In this study I have interviewed three female Class-travellers, all of which have made their ?journey? through studies at the University of Lund.The study is an attempt to enrich the research-field of Class-travelling by applying a feminist perspective, and by making women's voices about Class-travelling heard.

Klassresan : En studie om klassresenärers upplevelser

The purpose of this essay was to examine Class-travellers experiences of having done the Class-travel and when they realised they had done it.My questions were: when did they start the Class-travel? How do they experience themselves after going through the Classtravel? How do they change as Class-travellers in their relationship with their surroundings?The study was based on interviews with six Classtravellers, trained social workers who have made their journey through studies. In the essay I have analyzed and compared the interviews with relevant litterature/theory.My conclusions are that the experiences of the Class-travel are different. The lass-traveller of this study are recognized of being/have been part of two worlds or cultures. How long the Class-traveller has been in one of the worlds is of big importance.

The aim of this study is to illuminate social worker?s perception of social Class within the Swedish social service system. This study therefor examine if social Class contributes to the production and reproduction of the client and what impact social Class has on the interaction between client and social workers. The study was conducted with qualitative semi-structured interviews with social workers from three different departments of social service. The theoretical approach is Yeheskel Hasenfeld?s theory about moral practices in welfare organisations, Michael Lipsky and Roine Johansson?s theories about client construction and Pierre Bourdieu?s Class theory.

The main purpose of this Master?s thesis is to analyse the portrayals of working-Class life in a selection of works by the Swedish authors Ragnar Järhult and Per Gunnar Evander. The research questions are: * How is the working conditions described?* What political messages can be found in the works?* What image of the Class society is shown?The second aim of this Master?s thesis is to analyse the concept of working-Class literature and to investigate if the works of Per Gunnar Evander could be seen as working-Class literature. Methodologically, the study draws on established theories, concepts and methods from the sociology of literature and the history of ideas.

Empire and Multitude - Den globala klassanalysens nya subjekt?

This essay contains a comparative analysis of Erik Olin Wrights Marxist Class analysis and Michael Hardt and Antonio Negris post-Marxist Class analysis as presented in their books ?Empire? and ?Multitude: War and democracy in the age of Empire?. I discuss the shift in analytical focus from state level to global level that Hardt and Negri's analysis represent and the ensuing relevance of this for contemporary Class analysis. The essay also address the challenge and implications posed to Class analysis by the ever increasing economic globalization, from a material production to an ever growing immaterial service economy and the decrease in state power in controlling capital and labor movement. I propose that analytical understanding of Class conflict help us to a better understanding of the mechanisms and dynamics that generate social and economical inequalities and that an updated Marxist Class analysis still have much to contribute to our understanding to how these issues not only shape our society but also our capacity to counteract them..

Förberedelseklassen & förflyttningen till den ordinarie klassen : En kvalitativ studie av fyra flyktingbarns skolupplevelse

The aim of this study was to get insight into refugee children?s perception about experience of the preparatory Class, the transition to the ordinary Class and the ordinary Class. To get access to my informant?s perspective and also to get a more profound understanding of their experience, I oriented the study in a qualitative approach. This study will highlight the refugee children?s personal experiences and their point of view regarding the schools preparatory Class, ordinary Class, together with other pupils behaviour against them in the social interaction.

Det osynliga entreprenörskapet : - en intervjustudie av företagare med utländsk bakgrund

The invisible entrepreneurship is a study of owners of businesses with foreign heritage. It describes the unexplored relationship between ethnicity and Class within this group of entrepreneurs.The result of the study is a model which I have found to be suitable to use when depicting the relationship between the ethnic profile and Class. The model indicates that the importance of ethnicity decreases as both the owner of, and the business reach a more prominent Class. The method of collecting data has been interviews with owners of businesses and Grounded theory has been used to analyse this data. Theories on ethnicity, owners of businesses with foreign heritage, and Class in relation to ethnicity have been discussed on the basis of social constructivism.

The purpose of this survey was to discern possible similarities and difference between how teachers in preschool and pre-Class respond to children?s own initiative out of a power perspective. The results of this study is collect by observations that we have done in free and planned activity in both preschool and pre-Class as well as a few interviews with some of the teachers. The results have shown that teacher?s responses to children?s own initiatives in preschool and pre-Class to most part is similar, despite the difference in their commission.

This paper focuses on the relationship between actual victimization and perceived fear of crime among young women aged 18-20 years. Previous studies shows that women are more afraid of becoming a victim of crime than men, even though studies shows that men are victims of crime to a greater extent than women. The purpose of this paper was to examine women?s fear of becoming a victim of crime from a Class perspective. To investigate this, we interviewed 16 young women aged 18-20 years with both working Class and middle Class backgrounds.
