From a new perspective, this paper will examine the artillery and the pike role in the period 1700-1712 and the battalion´s Battle formation in the Caroline combat tactics. Carolinian Battle tactics were practiced during the period 1700-1721. The results from my study will be compared to existing research opinion regarding the selected subject areas, if the result confirms the thesis or question the existing research opinion. The source material used consists of eyewitness accounts from the period consisting of diaries, memoir, biography, general muster rolls and historical literature covering the subject. The analysis shows that the Caroline artillery took part in 12 Battles during the period of 1700-1712.

This essay is about the tactical basic principles as they are mentioned in the Swedish Doctrine for land based operations (2005) and the German side during the Battle of Verdun 1916. The purpose of this essay is to clarify whether the used doctrine is appropriate to use on future attrition Battles.        This is done by a case study of the German side during the Battle ofVerdun. In this case study indicators of the basic principles are then identified and analysed with the starting point at the two questions that the essay is based around. The essay starts with an introduction where above is attended, in the second part the basic principles, the background to the Battle and the Battle itself is described. Finally the tactical basic principles are analysed and discussed based on the questions that the essay is based on.In the analysis and the discussion the conclusion is drawn that the tactical basic principles were present on the German side during the Battle of Verdun and that they are of a general character and may be applied on both attrition warfare of 1916 and modern Battles of attrition..

The Battle of Breitenfeld took place in 1631, during the 30-year war. It was the biggest Battle the Swedish army has participated in. The essay analyses the Battle from a Swedish-Saxon perspective, using the basic skills, ground tactical principles and management philosophy of decentralized command.The essay is based on a case study stemming from a qualitative text analysis, and is as such divided into three parts. This thesis presents a qualitative, comparative study of the violence in the adaptations of Hunger Games (Tony Ross, 2012) and Battle Royale (Kinji Fukusaku, 2000). By analyzing the function of violence in a single scene in each of the movies, and comparing it to the literary original, the study aims to explore if there are any differences in the representation of the violence in the two media. The study also briefly discusses whether the violence has any function in bringing the story forward in both the literary sources and in the films and what the motivation for the violence is. "The study also includes a brief analysis of the narratives in relation to the monomyth established by Jospeh Campbell. Specifically, I discuss the similarities between Hunger Games and Battle Royale, which are two stories that have been created in two different cultural traditions, and whether or not we can say that the stories derive from this monomyth." The result concludes that the monomyth can be found in both stories, but that the scenes which is analyzed has to be put into the context and furhter story of the film to be of any relvance to the theory.

När två parter sänt varandra sina respektive standardavtal, utan att någon av parterna protesterat mot innehållet och det i efterhand visar sig att dessa standardavtal strider mot varandra, uppstår konflikten the Battle of the forms. Det är denna situation som vårt arbete behandlar. Vårt syfte har varit att med hjälp av olika utländska lösningsmodeller visa hur konflikten kan lösas eftersom det i Sverige varken finns lagstiftning eller klar och tydlig rättspraxis att använda sig av. En inblick i hur konflikten behandlas i England och USA har gett oss mer material att jobba med. Vi har använt oss av en deskriptiv metod.

Denna uppsats är en narrativ studie om hiphopkulturen som ungdomskultur. Målet med undersökningen har varit att förstå hur hiphoparna blir en del av den egna kulturen och hur de ser sig själva som medlemmar av hiphopkulturen. Som insamlingsmetod har jag använt mig av tre fokusgrupper samt en enskild intervju. Informanterna har varit 20-26 år och kommer från två mellanstora städer i Sverige.Det resultat som framkommit är att hiphoparen gör en slags karriär inom kulturen. För att kunna göra denna karriär är hiphoparen beroende av mer erfarna personer.

För att mycket snabbt kunna komma på plats vid en kris, har Europa inom ramen för EU börjat upprättasnabbinsatsstyrkor, såkallade EU Battle Groups. En EU Battle Group kommer att ha en mycket kort tid på sig frånbeslut till insats. I samband med att Sverige engagerat sig i EU militära samarbete tog Sverige huvudansvaret för enav de Battle Groups som skall upprättas, den såkallade Nordic Battle Group. Sverige har vid tidigare insatser visatatt det är mycket svårt att snabbt få förband på plats i ett insatsområde. Materielen är ofta det som varitgränssättande för när förbandet skall bli operativt vid en insats.Uppsatsens syfte är att ge ett svar på hur stridsfordon till svenska snabbinsatsförband som står i beredskap börförvaras för att skapa de bästa förutsättningarna vid en insats.Metoden för uppsatsen är ett antal frågeställningar, där svar söks genom en fallstudie med två olikaförvaringsprinciper.

Vi beskriver i denna rapport hur vi, som två studenter vidÖrebro universitet, utvecklade ett nätverksbaserat action-spel för datorer i Windows-miljösomsedanvarmed ochtävladei nordens största spelutvecklar-tävling, Swedish Game Awards. This paper deals with archery in the Viking Age settlement of Birka and in particular the presence of Euro Asiatic, steppe nomadic archery equipment at the Birka Garrison and one Birka grave. The equipment contains for example closed quivers and a bow case. Sverige har med sina åtaganden inom EU Battle Groups tagit ansvar för en militär verksamhet som kräver storamått av rörlighet med snabb insatstid. Troliga konflikthärdar kommer inom en överskådlig tid att uppstå långtifrån Skandinaven vilket kräver planering och snabba transporter med stor kapacitet samt lång räckvidd. Enallvarlig kapacitetsbrist i en svensk Battle Group utgörs av bristen på nationella resurser för strategiskatransporter. Avsaknaden av egna militära strategiska transportresurser gör att behovet av civila aktörer och nyagemensamma samverkansformer inom kommunikationstjänsten aktualiseras.Uppsatsens syfte är att analysera hur EU Battle Groups insatstid påverkar transporterna och desstransportförberedelser.Metodmässigt bygger uppsatsen på ett antal frågeställningar vars svar söks genom litteraturstudier ochkvalitativa intervjuer. Den teoriansats som ligger till grund för denna uppsats är systemteorin vilken i sin turhar kompletterats med System Dynamics och dess systemformalisering av materielflöden.Resultat visar på att EU BG med nuvarande resurser inte kan hålla uppsatta tidskrav men med bättreförberedelser kan transporterna påskyndas.

This master thesis is one part of a project, called ?StabSim?, with the purpose to develop a simulation model for the align and stabilisation system in main Battle tank 122. The origin of this project is that it should be possible to make control analysis without risking any hardware. Besides that it will be easy to change components in order to investigate the behaviour of the system. The report includes modelling of tower and weapon mechanics and also the modelling of the synchronous motors, which control these.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka vilka skillnader som finns i analysen av CBRN-skyddsförmågan i BG08 och BG11. För att kunna genomföra undersökningen har det varit nödvändigt att beskriva hur EU Battle Group konceptet har tillkommit samt vad konceptet innebär. Följande frågeställningar har legat till grund för studien: Vilka förändringar har gjorts i analysen av CBRN-funktionen i BG08 och BG11? Om det finns några förändringar, hur förklarar man och förstår dessa förändringar? Utifrån de rådande politiska ingångsvärdena för de två styrkorna har viss diskrepans, dock liten, identifierats. Den största skillnaden ligger i vilken nation som skall bidra med förmågan.

My intention with this paper is to try to understand the meaning of the double sex symbols which can be identified on a number of Neolithic so called Battle axes from the region round the lake Mälaren in Sweden. My conclusions are drawn after having studied a number of archaeological thesises. I have realized that the society was egalitarian from what is said about the funeral habits since women and men were buried with the same care. Ceramics from the Skogsmossen site show a very long continuity over 15-20 generations. These facts indicate a peaceful society without traumatic breaks where knowledge would have been lost.
