Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to give a contribution to the studies of what strategies those are of importance for challengers in consumer technological markets aiming for the market leader position. To be able to investigate this phenomenon we have chosen to study Microsoft?s second position in the video game console industry. In addition, we want to illuminate Microsoft?s competitive advantages, how Microsoft can take advantage from Sony?s setbacks and what strategies those are of importance for Microsoft in the battle of becoming the market leader.

During the spring of 2013 we developed a visual identity for Jönköping Bandy, a bandy association in Jönköping, which was founded in 1947.Jönköping Bandy?s main problem was the low interest for the association by the local people. The association also had problems with the economy, which made it hard for them to merchandise themselves.In Jönköping, there were a lot of sport associations, and therefore, it was difficult to find sponsors. One way to help the association, was to create a good visual identity for them. A visual identity that would reflect on the proper values of the association.The intention was: ?Through graphical design, we want to convey Jönköping Bandy to a larger amount of people, and get increased knowledge in graphical idiom.? and was torn apart into these three questions:What core values does Jönköping Bandy have, and how can we convey them through the visual identity?Which visual materials does Jönköping Bandy need?How do other teams in Allsvenskan Södra merchandise themselves through their websites?The work began with a study of relevant theoretical literature, with focus on graphical design.

The increased frequency of reported Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) is of great concern to small animal healthcare due to limited options of antimicrobial therapy. The aim of this literature study is to investigate 1) characteristics and classification of S. pseudintermedius, 2) resistance mechanisms and emergence of MRSP, 3) risk factors for selection of MRSP, and 4) clonal distribution around the world. S. pseudintermedius is a skin and mucosal commensal in healthy dogs and cats, but can cause infections, including pyoderma. Beta-lactam antibiotics inhibit bacterial growth by binding to the penicillin binding protein (PBP), a vital enzyme in the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall.

Many of these tents is purchased very cheaply, for a single festival.

Today?s society is one where technological advances are made daily, which increases the need to stop and assess the risks against users? integrity when integrating new technology in contemporary systems all the greater. We have taken two technologies, Near Field Communication and Certified Wireless USB, whose envisioned area of use is to be integrated into mobile phones, and evaluated what security threats are revealed for the respective technologies. The threats against security have been identified through research of the standards and existing reports for each technology. Practical experiments have not been conducted on account of us not having access to any equipment to run such trials.

This paper discusses the world heritage of Falun and its influence on the marketing of Falun as a destination. The reason for this study is the fact that world heritage nominations can lead to an increased pressure on the destination and an increase in popularity for the place. A world heritage is something unique and odd that can be used in the marketing of the destination in the purpose of attracting tourists, company investments and so on. It has been vital for the study to interview people that work with marketing or have important rolls within the world heritage.With this background the study is focused on three major questions:What meaning does the world heritage have in the marketing of Falun?Is the world heritage important for Falun? If yes: For who and why?Which organisations/persons in Falun have the greatest influence on the marketing process?In order to answer or discuss this question there are discussions in the paper regarding the notions of place marketing as well as the importance of a well outlined marketing strategy as a basis for the formulation of a product portfolio and segmentation strategy as well as strategy for developing a strong profile on the market.The answers to the question are relative and can have a different view in the future.

Ethnic discrimination is still a problem in the Swedish employment market. The Ombudsman against Ethnic Discrimination received 154 complaints relating to discrimination due to ethnicity in the working life in 2012. In addition, reported unemployment rates in Sweden differ markedly between native-born and foreign-born. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how protection against ethnic discrimination in recruitment looks like in Sweden and describe different methods an employer may use to prevent that ethnic discrimination occurs in recruitment situations. The first and second issue of the essay concern what protection there is in Sweden against ethnic discrimination in recruitment situations, based on international and national law. The traditional legal dogmatic method, which describes the valid law, is used in these sections.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det förekommer skillnader i upplevelsen av oral hälsorelaterad livskvalitet hos personer som överlevt akut hjärtinfarkt jämfört med personer som inte har haft hjärtinfarkt.Studien genomfördes under åren 2001-2002 och alla personer som sökte vård vid ett mellanstort sjukhus i södra Sverige med diagnosen akut hjärtinfarkt och som överlevt infarkten inkluderades i studien. Kontrollgruppen bestod av vänner (n=69) till personerna som hade överlevt akut hjärtinfarkt samt personer (n=90) från en tidigare undersökning från samma sjukhus och som överensstämde i kön, ålder, socioekonomisk bakgrund och rökstatus. Totalt deltog 154 personer som överlevt akut hjärtinfarkt och 159 personer i kontrollgruppen.Mätinstrumentet som användes i studien var Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP), vilket är ett frågeformulär för att mäta självupplevd munhälsorelaterad livskvalitet. Formuläret ger mått på dysfunktion, obehag och funktionshinder relaterade till munhålan. OHIP består av 49 frågor, fördelade över sju dimensioner: funktionsbegränsningar, fysisk smärta, psykiska problem, fysisk oförmåga, psykisk oförmåga, social oförmåga och handikapp.Resultatet visar att inga statistiskt säkerställda skillnader fanns mellan de personer som överlevt akut hjärtinfarkt och kontrollgruppen i de sju dimensionerna i OHIP.

Piled friction soil show a set-up which is increasing with the time after installation. The cost could be reduced if the set-up had been taken into account when designing but in Sweden it is very unusual to do that. Previous studies showed that set-up can vary between 25 % and 75 % during the first 90 days after pile installation. This showed that the effect of the phenomenon is difficult to predict. A study involving five projects have been carried out by specifying certain parameters like pile type, method for pile installation and test method for measure the bearing capacity in friction soils located in Sweden.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.

Något händer när ny teknik gör intåg i klassrummet där undervisning, studier och lärande i olika ämnen står på schemat. I nästan varje elevs ficka finns idag en populär artefakt, mobiltelefonen. Att telefonen påverkar skolkulturen är förståeligt. Men hur anser lärarna att elevernas användning, kommunikationsrutiner och strategier för studier och lärande påverkar undervisningen och attityderna till skolarbetet? I skolan har man traditionellt alltid använt artefakter som myndigheterna har tillhandahållit, exempelvis böcker, penna och papper.

Mobiltelefoni har blivit allt vanligare i dagens samhälle och konkurrensen mellan operatörerna har ökat. Det är då viktigt att operatörerna har ett stabilt och kvalitetssäkert nät. För att åstadkomma ett kvalitativt nät är planeringen bakom viktigt. Idag sker planeringen med hjälp av ett framtaget predikteringsprogram, TEMS Cellplanner, som är ett beräkningsprogram. TEMS Investigation är ett program som används då kontroller av nätet görs ute i fält.

ABSTRACTThe principal aim of the study was to compare the feeding behaviour of cattle, sheep and goats on pasture and explain any differences between speices. Furthermore, I compared foraging behaviour between dry season and the beginning of the rainy season, in order to see any relationships between weather and behaviour.The study was carried out in Shompole in southern Kenya. Behavioural data were collected by observing herds of cattle, sheep and goats on pasture. The livestock were herded on pasture during the days and kept in bomas, where people live, during the nights. The weather in Shompole is characterized by high ambient temperature and low, bimodal rainfall.

The thesis mission is to investigate whether the swiveling laser that Vectura (former Vägverket Konsult) has in use to measure the road areas and straddle measuring can be used to detect differences in the reflective road markings function. This is to increase use of the swiveling laser and get rid of the manual measurements performed today.Currently, the measurement of road markings reflective function is performed with both mobile and handheld measuring instruments. The purpose of this thesis is to develop better methods for determination of road markings? reflective function, in order to facilitate the description and suggestions for improvements of the maintenance of road markings reflective function.The questions that the thesis has been to start with are:Can the swiveling laser detect differences in longitudinal and transverse road markings reflective function?The accuracy of measurement has been sweeping the laser over the reference instrument (LTL-2000)Is it necessary with a conversion factor for swiveling laser data against the reference instrument data?To answer the question 2 and 3, there has been a field work in Värnamo where a road stretch with longitudinal road markings and zebra crossing (transverse road markings) has been investigated with a swiveling laser and LTL-2000.The formulas and calculations contained in the thesis are drawn from scientific reports that are produced by VTI in Linköping. The same formula that was used to calculate the optical measurement data was also used for the swiveling laser data.

Allt fler människor använder sig av sociala medier via sina mobiltelefoner. Mobiltelefonernas egenskaper tillåter användarna att kommunicera på ett snabbt och platsoberoende sätt. Flera stora välgörenhetsorganisationer i Sverige har börjat mobilanpassa sina hemsidor. Däremot används inte sociala mediers mobilanpassade funktioner för att tillåta social interaktion. Denna uppsats undersöker hur välgörenhetsorganisationer kan tillåta användare av mobila sociala medier att dela med sig av sitt engagemang till sitt sociala nätverk, för att öka givandet via mobiltelefoner.
