Purpose/Aim: The purpose of this thesis is to study the interaction between seller and buyer in a mobile phone store. The specific research questions under investigation are:Are there any underlying factors behind mobile purchase, and if so, what are they? Are mobile purchases driven by lifestyle factors and do customers try and create identities when purchasing new mobile phones?Material/Method: The study employs an ethnographic method when trying to answer the posed research questions. I have under a period of two weeks studied the seller-buyer interaction in a mobile phone store. In order to further increase the accuracy of my findings, I have complemented my observations with a sample of buyer and seller interviews.Main results: The observations and interviews were initially studied in isolation, resulting in different themes.

This report describes a study, description and testing of parts to an application adapted to the operating system Android. The application is supposed to measure the distance to a car ahead. Apart from distance measurements the ability of the application to calculate its own speed with the help of GPS is tested. From these two parameters, speed, distance and some constants the theoretical stopping distance of the car will be calculated in order to warn the driver if the car is too close to the car ahead in relation to its own speed and stopping distance.Tests were conducted on the different applications that were programmed and the result showed that the camera technique in the mobile phone itself limits the maximum distance of the distance measurement application. The max distance the tests in this thesis revealed was approximately 5 meters.

Technology has grown rapidly in recent years. At present, almost all social interaction are through computers and telephones. It is, however, not everyone who can manage these media. This applies mostly to elderly people who have not kept pace with technological developments. A major contributing reason is that the manuals are usually bulky and too technical for this group.The purpose of this paper is to develop a concept/prototype into a product that will facilitate the use of mobile phones for seniors.

Mindre företag i Sverige använder även i dag äldre DOS-baserade (Disk Operating System) program för att hantera sina administrationsbehov. I takt med övergången till fönsterbaserade applikationer har även behovet av hanteringen av övergången ökat. I detta examensarbete har företaget ifråga haft behov av en uppdatering av dess befintliga DOS-baserade administrationsprogram. Uppgiften har varit att ta fram ett motsvarande Windows-baserat administrationsprogram med stöd för alla de funktioner som det ursprungliga programmet hade men med utökad funktionalitet. För att lösa denna uppgift har första steget i samråd med företagets representant varit att analysera hur användarna använder det befintliga systemet för att ta reda på de funktioner som behövdes för att skapa ett väl fungerande program.

En komponentbaserad mjukvaruutveckling syftar till att minska utvecklings- och underhållskostnader för mjukvaruprogram. Trots att det idag inte finns någon enhälligt accepterad definition av en komponent så existerar komponentteknologier som ämnar till att minska utvecklingstiden för mjukvara genom komponenter.De olika teknologierna som undersöks i denna rapport är Microsofts COM, OMGs CORBA och Suns JavaBeans. Dessa jämförs på tekniska egenskaper, prestanda, språkberoende, plattformsberoende och distributionsstöd då dessa egenskaper är viktiga för programvaruutvecklare vid val av teknologi. Detta genomförs med hjälp av en litteraturstudie över specifikationerna för respektive teknologi. Litteraturstudien täcker även material av teknologiernas existens på dagens kommersiella komponentmarknad.Resultatet från jämförelsen pekar på att COM-teknologin kommer att dominera marknaden för komponenter på Windows-plattformarna och att CORBA kommer att smälta ihop med JavaBeans för att dominera marknaden för icke Windows-plattformar..

The PhonePages of Sweden is a company that develops software for mobile units, especially cell phones. This thesis treats the development of, and contingencies for, a mobile phone directory, using the limited resources found in a mobile unit. The project was implemented and executed at The PhonePages with the intention of creating a product to sell to a third party.By studying different solutions, their benefits and drawbacks, an abstract picture of the product was constructed. Problems covered include compatibility problems caused by todays platform diversity as well as problems with saving, organizing and presenting data.The main goal was to create a phone directory which does not make external information retrievals. The service should contain both company and personal information, with name and phonenumber.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Försvarsmakten. Arbetets målsättning är att undersöka hot, risker och sårbarheter som portabla enheter kan orsaka eller bidra till inom en organisation. Bärbara datorer med operativsystemet Windows och Mac, samt surfplattor och smartphones med operativsystemet Android, iOS och Windows Phone är de portabla enheter som är utvalda att ingå i denna rapport. Vidare diskuteras förslag på hur man kan förebygga olika säkerhetsrisker. Rapporten tar även upp dagens BYOD-lösningar (Bring Your Own Device).

I vårt moderna samhälle använder vi datorsystem som är viktiga för olika verksamheter. Det behövs datorsystem med olika arbetsroller. Till exempel erbjuda webb-tjänster för att användare utifrån kan arbeta mot och databas-tjänster för att både lagra och hämta ut information. Om det interna nätverket är stort kan det underlätta att ha en DNS server för att knyta namn till servrar. Men om det finns hot för att störa driften av verksamheten, speciellt företagets nätverk blir säkerhet en mycket viktig fråga.En anställd på ett medelstort företag erbjöd mig att göra en analys av deras IT-säkerhet.

Everyone has to take a greater responsibility in energy issues, both individuals and companies. There have been some major developments in the construction industry but there is still a lot to be done. This diploma work thesis presents different methods of making existing construction shed establishments to use less energy. What is possible to do and how much energy is there to be saved? A shed establishment consisting of 8 shed units were studied in this project and the building simulation tool VIP-Energy was used to simulate different types of material in the sheds. An infrared camera was used to locate thermal bridges. There are several factors that can be improved to make a construction shed establishment to use less energy.

De vanligasteoperativsystemen bygger på ett grafiskt användargränssnitt, där användareninteragerar med operativsystemet via en metaforisk skrivbordsmiljö.Undersökningen i uppsatsen utgår från de hjälptexter som finns integrerade i ett avde vanligaste operativsystemen, nämligen Windows 7. Syftet med undersökningenär att undersöka hur den hjälptext som är integrerad i Windows 7 kommunicerar sittinnehåll till datoranvändaren.

I januari 2007 släpptes Windows Vista i Sverige. Huvudsyftet med denna rapport var att identifiera de nya funktionerna i Windows Vista och med hjälp av lämpligt ramverk analysera hur dessa funktioner påverkar användaren i sitt vardagliga bruk med datorn. Studien inleddes med att vi identifierade Windows Vistas nya funktioner och gränssnitt genom en litteraturstudie från Microsoft och genom eget arbete med Vista installerat på våra datorer. Sedan gjordes ett urval av funktioner som vi ansåg representera det nya gränssnittet i Vista. Efter litteraturgranskningen av Vista införskaffades relevanta teorier och modeller som kunde appliceras för att mäta användbarheten av Vistas nya funktioner.

Subject: This paper is about Brand Extension and if the process differs when a company extends its brand from a service to a product in comparison to an extension from a product to a product. As an example we have analyzed the mobile phone business and the mobile phone operators who launch their private branded mobile phonesPurpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze how companies use brand extension from service to product as a part of their brand extension strategy.Method: A literature study was done in the brand extension area, but also in the area of brands to have a deeper understanding for the subject. A qualitative study with interviews was combined with a quantitative survey study. On the basis of the theories we could analyze the collected data and fulfill the papers purpose. Results: Important features and differences in services and products were identified and the importance of a strong brand identity before an extension.
