This paper is the result of a case study conducted at Uppåkra Mekaniska AB during the spring of 2006. The task that was presented by Uppåkra was to develop a basis for a decision for the planning activities at the company, so that in the future they can create lot-sizes which are based upon a total cost perspective. Total cost in regards to lot-sizing is defined as the sum of the administrative reordering costs and warehousing cost per stock keeping unit.To collect data a series of interviews and observations were conducted. This data was then used during the lot-sizing simulation and analysis. The 15 units that the simulation was conducted on were grouped into three item classes depending how many different machine setups they required during the production process.

I studien behandlas värdeinvesteringsstrategier på den svenska aktiemarknaden med utgångspunkt i Greenblatts (2006) Magic Formula Investing. Syftet med studien är att se om det är möjligt att effektivisera Magic Formula Investing med hjälp av fundamentala signaler som kan hjälpa till att prognostisera bolags framtida vinster och aktieavkastning och därmed nå en högre onormal avkastning. Från Piotroskis (2000) vetenskapligt beprövade investeringsmodell F_SCORE används nyckeltal för att se om en effektivisering av Magic Formula Investing är möjlig. Studiens resultat visar att en utvecklad Magic Formula Investing med Piotroskis (2000) B/M och ACCRUAL kan hjälpa investerare att nå en ökad onormal avkastning med i genomsnitt 10 % per år. Resultatet uppnår statistisk signifikans och därmed dras slutsatsen att en effektivisering av Magic Formula Investing på den svenska marknaden är möjlig.

Forecasting is an important part in attempting to predict how companies will perform in the future. The more accurate the prediction, the more valuable are the results obtained from the forecast. This thesis aims to investigate forecasts of return on equity, and whether a disaggregation of the leverage formula into its underlying components affects the forecasting ability positively. This is conducted by comparing a model based on the leverage formula's components with a model solely based on return on equity from previous years. The study includes manufacturing companies on the Swedish Stock Exchange over the period 1998-2011.

The purpose of this study is to investigate information seeking habits among young persons with mild mental disability. We wanted to know how they seek information in everyday life, barriers they experience when seeking information and also if they consider the library to be a source of information.The theoretical background of this study is based on the works of T. D. Wilson and Michael Buckland. Wilson?s model of information seeking behavior and seeking information was used as a tool analyzing the results from the interviews.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att klargöra företaget Wilson Productions grundläggande kärnvärde, fördelar och styrkor föratt lättare kunna beskriva och formulera vilka tjänster som företaget kan erbjuda marknaden. Vi ska utforma verktyg för en samlad företagsidentitet som fungerar både utåt mot marknaden och inom organisationen. Dessutom kommer vi att undersöka Wilson Productions entreprenöriella motiv och tankar kring verksamheten, för att kunna se var företaget är på väg idag.Detta är ett kvalitativt arbete med en deduktiv ansats och uppdraget gick ut på att hjälpa ett specifikt företag. Vi har arbetat utifrån ett enskilt fall och nyttjade till största del redan befintliga teorier och modeller, som vi applicerade på den aktuella företagsverksamheten. Vi har använt systemsynsättet eftersom vi avser att konstruera ett helhetskoncept till Wilson Productions.

Arbetet syftar till att belysa på vilket eller vilka sätt två läroböcker i matematik för årskurs 6 svarar mot de behov som finns hos elever i matematiksvårigheter. Metoden som används är huvudsakligen kvalitativ i form av intervjuer med lärare och elever. Dessutom har de två läromedlen Matematikboken och Formula analyserats och utvärderats till innehåll och form samt arbetsätt. Den strukturella analysen visar att Formula har fler textuppgifter, medan Matematikboken har fler bilder och förklaringar. Den kvalitativa analysen visar på en närmare koppling till konkreta människo- och miljöaspekter i Matematikboken, medan Formula har sin tyngdpunkt i att guida laborativt elevarbete på egen hand. Lärarintervjuerna visar att valet av läromedel påverkar hur lektionerna läggs upp och strukturen i desamma. Intervjuerna med elever visar att läroboksvalet påverkar deras syn på vad matematik är och hur de arbetar med och förstår matematik. Arbetet har en relevans för arbetet med att stödja elever i matematiksvårigheter..

The purpose of this study is to examine the information seeking behaviour among unestablished archaeologists. Special attention has been directed to the areas of informal communication and the development of personal networks. As a former archaeology student I have been able to apply my previously acquired knowledge when writing this thesis. The empirical study is based on nine interviews with archaeologists each with more than one and less than four years of professional experience. They all have various experience of working as a fieldarchaeologist and five have simultaneously worked as university researchers.

In April 2007 we contacted Lennart Augustsson at Designpartners AB in Västerås. He came up with the idea to investigate and evaluate their construction of a interaction beam, CSB-beam. CSB is short for Connector Interaction beam. The beam is based on a horizontal C-profile of high-tensile steel and in the bottom of the profile are vertical flat bar welded so called block connectors. This bachelor's thesis is an investigation into the public libraries'actions following the debate of Stina Wirséns character LillaHjärtat, featured in picture books and films for young children.The character was accused of being racist, due to its similarity tostereotypes such as pickaninnies. Because of this, the books'existence in public libraries was questioned.The purpose of this study is to investigate how librarians havedealt with these books, and what they have based their decisionson. To explore the background of these decisions we have usedPatrick Wilson's theory of cognitive authority (1983). We haveexamined which cognitive authorities have been used in thedecision-making process of how to handle the books containingLilla Hjärtat, and why these cognitive authorities have beenchosen. The method used in the study is qualitative interviewswith seven librarians working in public libraries throughoutSweden.The results of the interviews show that the librarians? mostprominent cognitive authorities have been authors and illustratorsof children's books.
