Due to the globalization today the competition in the market has in- creased and it requires flexibility and produce according to customer demand. In order to reduce the cost of wages industrial companies are now considering moving the manufacturing to low-cost countries. To keep up with the competition in the market without moving the manu- facturing abroad, Lean Automation was developed. The concept of Lean Automation is to reduce the perceived complexity with automa- tion and make automation available for new users and in new applica- tions.Haldex Brake Products are situated in Sweden and want to maintain the manufacturing of the automatic brake adjusters in the country. It is a product well-known and highly exposed to the competition in the mar- ket.

When traffic in large cities increases, it becomes more vulnerable to disturbances such as accidents, stalled vehicles or construction; therefore, traffic jams are more likely to occur. For better control of the traffic at a disturbance the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) has traffic equipment which can be controlled from a command centre. This traffic equipment consists of gates and signs with variable messages. This report will discuss the system used for traffic control in Stockholm. It will present proposals designed to improve it.

Självskada är en avsiktlig vävnadsskada på den egna kroppen och en handling som ofta syftar till att skifta fokus från outhärdlig psykisk smärta till en mera acceptabel fysisk smärta. Sjuksköterskor som möter patienter med självskadebeteende kan ofta uppleva frustration, hjälplöshet, förtvivlan och ilska. Den vård personer med självskadeteende får beror på hur vårdpersonalen ser på dem, många gånger finns det negativa attityder som kan bero på bristande utbildning och okunskap. Syftet med studien var att beskriva personer med självskadebeteendes upplevelser av hälso- och sjukvårdspersonalens bemötande. I denna litteraturstudie har tolv studier analyserats med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats.

Six different Digital Proofing Systems from three different techniques have been evaluated as totechnique, printing quality, economy and usability. Digital proof from two paper qualities, coatedand uncoated, has been compared with references printed in offset, to see how good they match eachother. Only two Proofing Systems manage to print on reference paper. The other Proofing Systemsuse special paper for digital proof.Measurements and visuell judgement show that the Digital Proofing Systems visualise referencepictures with quite good quality. Proof optimised for coated paper visualise the colours with goodresult.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka erfarenheten och upplevelsen hos omsorgspersonal som arbetar på särskilda boenden för personer över 65 år med demenssjukdom av att begränsa de boende i deras självbestämmanderätt. Vidare ingick det i syftet att öka förståelsen genom att synliggöra vad som kan motivera beslut vilka leder till handlingar som innebär att demenssjukas självbestämmanderätt begränsas. Uppsatsen har en kvalitativ ansats och det empiriska materialet är baserat på semistrukturerade intervjuer med sju omsorgspersonal som arbetade på olika boenden med inriktning mot demenssjukdomar. Resultatet visar att begränsningarna av de demenssjuka sker med hänvisning till skyddsaspekter och bristande resurser. Omsorgspersonalen beskrev hur de använde avledande strategier i situationer där de begränsade de demenssjuka personerna.

Fast pyrolysis is a method for converting biomass into three energy rich products: char, gas and bio-oil, where the latter is most interesting.  Pyrolysis is an endothermic process where biomass is heated in an anaerobic environment and, with the right operating conditions, up to 80 %wt bio-oil can be extracted. Key parameters for fast pyrolysis are: stable reactor temperature (~500°C), short residue time for gas in the reactor (<2 s) and a very high heating rate for the biomass. Today there are several different process solutions for fast pyrolysis, where fluidized beds and rotating cones are most developed. Bio-oil has compared to fossil oil: lower heating value, low pH and also polymerizes with time. Because of this upgrading is desirable for increasing competitiveness.

Begreppet jämställdhetskonsult myntades 1993 och konsulten nämns ofta som en viktig aktör i litteratur om jämställdhetsarbete. Däremot finns i princip ingen forskning i ämnet. I denna uppsats visar vi på jämställdhetskonsultens roll och funktion i organisationers jämställdhetsarbete samt ger förklaringar till branschens uppkomst och tillväxt. Genom främst intervjuer med flera jämställdhetskonsulter har vi funnit att konsultens tjänster efterfrågas i inledningsfasen av organisationers jämställdhetsarbete, men att detta ofta utvecklas till ett längre samarbete. Jämställdhetskonsulten kan ta flera roller.

This study was commissioned by the Västerbotten sports federation, whocalled for an overview of the policies that the municipalities inVästerbotten work after in the field of sport. The study aimed to identifysports policy programs or documents that have been produced by themunicipalities, and how they work with them. Furthermore, the studyhighlights the municipality?s politicians reasoning aboutsport andrecreation-sector,and how their sport policy-work was practiced. The datacollection was based on seven interviews and document-collections fromthe 15 municipalities.

Everyone has to take a greater responsibility in energy issues, both individuals and companies. There have been some major developments in the construction industry but there is still a lot to be done. This diploma work thesis presents different methods of making existing construction shed establishments to use less energy. What is possible to do and how much energy is there to be saved? A shed establishment consisting of 8 shed units were studied in this project and the building simulation tool VIP-Energy was used to simulate different types of material in the sheds. An infrared camera was used to locate thermal bridges. There are several factors that can be improved to make a construction shed establishment to use less energy.

The focus of this research is to investigate how the client's emotions can affect the social worker and how the social worker manages these feelings in order to make the right decisions. We have used a qualitative approach in our investigation. We have interviewed six social workers at social welfare bureaux in southern Sweden. Our theories are ?Nai?ve Theory? and ?Affect Theory?.

Vid tillverkningsprocesser av nya komponenter omvandlas material till antingen en produkt eller restprodukt, varpå restprodukterna hanteras som antingen biprodukt eller avfall. Oavsett karaktärisering är den genererade beståndsdelen föremål för någon form av fortsatt behandling. Vid frågan om restprodukt kan det handla om en åtgärd för avfallshantering, då substanserna saknar funktionella egenskaper för fortsatt användning. Det kan också vara så att avfallet besitter ett kommersiellt värde och kan återanvändas som en råvara i andra anläggnings- och tillverkningsprocesser eller i form av bränsle. Oavsett tillämpad åtgärd krävs tydlig lagstiftning som främjar en gynnsam utveckling och förhindrar uppkomsten av skadliga föroreningar.

An analysis of a specific application of anaerobic wastewater treatment at a pulp and board mill, Stora Enso Skoghall, was carried out. A literature study was done and effluent wastewater from CTMP pulp production was analyzed. The analysis consisted of a broad constituent analysis and an anaerobic treatment trial. Results from these test where used to calculate the treatment effectiveness and resulting energy potential at the mill.The literature study and constituent analysis showed that toxicity of the water to be treated, due to wood extractives and sulphur content, was of concern. Detoxification chemicals targeting these constituents where used in the anaerobic treatment trial.

Under litteraturstudier har konstaterats att det saknas en modell som skulle på ett mer nyanserat sätt visa hur det faktiska strategiarbetet bedrivs med plats för känsla och intuition. Strategier är verktyg att nå drömmar om framtiden och det är därför rimligt att anta att känsla och intuition finns med som en stark beståndsdel. Denna studie utgår från Simons modell för strategisk ekonomistyrning. En annan grundläggande teorigrund är Minzbergs strategimodell och mer specifikt: hur Simons har använt denna. Dessa två modeller har sammanfogats till en analysmodell.

Environmental problems are accelerating with energy consumption and the release of greenhouse gases as the major issues. This affects landscape planning mostly through environmentally hazardous transportation and heating of buildings. In environmental work, the term "Sustainable development" is often used. This term was coined in the Bruntland report in 1987. A number of frameworks have been developed to clarify the term and to remind the user about relevant aspects of sustainability.
