ABSTRACTThe discussions about energy use have increased year by year everywhere in the society, and so also in the healthcare sector. But what is actually energy use in a hospital facility, and what affects it?The typical way today to express the energy use is in kWh/m2. The problem with a key performance indicator that is expressed as energy use in relation to a specific area is that it does not take into account the activity in the building. Even though the activity to a very high extent affects the energy use.

The construction industry accounted for 19 % of all work-related fatalities in Sweden between 2010 and 2013. The exam report has been done to find out what underlying causes there are to the high number of fatalities and to the occupational statistics of the construction industry. Moreover it has been reviewed what improvements can be done to reduce accidents and fatalities in the construction industry. The report consists of a survey of statistics, laws and regulations affecting the work environment and of literature concerning the subject. It has been conducted an interview and a questionnaire survey at the construction company Asplunds Bygg and an interview with an inspector from the Work Environment Authority.

 This report will describe a project between two students from Karlstad University and Markus Norström from Hovercraft solutions. The project aim was to develop a cabin for the hovercraft 380TD. The project was divided into two sub parts; one concerning the design of the cabin and one concerning the engineering. Throughout this rapport you can follow the engineering part of the project. The project has followed a systematic product development process resulting in optimized results for material selection and engineering solutions.

Följande arbete utfördes i samarbete med m4solutions AB, Halmstad, och Volvo Buses AB, Göteborg.Volvo?s bussar använder idag luftintag vilka de önskar minska kostnaden för, varför en instruktion har utformats för att bistå kommande förbättringsarbete av luftintag med information och stöd. Föreliggande projekt, vilket genomfördes i samarbete med kandidatarbetet Instruktion för optimering av luftintag av Hung & Bodin (2011), bistår denna instruktion med CAD- och beräkningsunderlag. Arbete resulterade i en planering, analys och utvärdering av flödesberäkningar för två typer av luftintag, vilka används av Volvo idag. Baserad på denna analys presenteras förslag till förbättringar för kommande flödesberäkningar. För att möjliggöra ett enkel skapande av CAD-modeller av luftintag skapades även ett CAD-underlag i programmet Catia V5. I denna kan användaren genom ett antal enkla val utforma ett luftintag, bland annat för användning i olika datorstödda beräkningar..

Kompetensutveckling av personalen och internutbildningar har varit ett hett debattämne de senaste åren. Numera är Internet/intranät och interaktiva självstudiekurser ofta ett alternativ till traditionell lärarledd utbildning. Vi ville därför undersöka hur lärande via intranät sker, hur sådana internutbildningar upplevs av deltagarna och att försöka ge förslag på hur dessa kan utvecklas ytterligare. För att uppfylla våra syften har vi valt att utföra studier hos tre av Volvos återförsäljare. Volvo har sedan en tid tillbaka en internutbildning som kombinerar lärarledda lektioner med självstudiekurser via intranät.

The construction industry is currently receiving much criticism for inefficiency and slow development while demands for reduced built in moisture and efficiency increases. This report examines whether the use of field factories can meet these requirements and what factors that will be critical for future use of field factories. Industrialized construction with field factory is compared with traditional loose timber construction and industrial construction in the fields of execution, logistics and working environment. The aim of this report is to provide a basis for field factories current and future use and development. To achieve the aim of the report, people with experience in the use of the various methods was interviewed and literature studies in the various fields done.

Historically transformers with system earth equipment have been modeled as open circuits in zero sequence. This approximation has been satisfying, but lately it has been discovered that equipment on one side of the transformer have responded to faults that occurred at the other side. Most of these problems took place when the majority of the system on the secondary side of the transformer contained cables. These findings have led to questioning whether or not the former model of the transformer in zero sequence is correct. This report investigates if it is necessary to represent the transformer in zero sequence in another way than it is usually done today.

Det finns ett klart fokus på aktiverande leveraging med avsikt att bygga och stärka kundrelationer.

This study provides a Construction-Grammar analysis of Swedish pseudo-coordination construction with the verbs gå "go" and ta "take" on the basis of an examination of empirical data. Factors bringing about different readings of gå and ta pseudocoordinations are discussed, showing that the readings correlate with certain semantic properties of the first and the second conjunct. Three distinct pseudocoordinations with gå are proposed, differing as to their readings: inceptive, surprising and imperfective. The single ta pseudocoordination is claimed to have both inceptive and intentional readings. It is illustrated that the readings of gå and ta pseudocoordinations are affected not only by inherent lexical properties of single conjuncts but also by their interaction with construction-level characteristics.

I denna uppsats undersöks viktiga framgångsfaktorer vid internationell expansion på tillväxtmarknaderna i centrala Östeuropa. Expansionsprocesserna hos Cramo och Volvo Lastvagnar jämförs med utgångspunkt i ett teoretiskt ramverk där Uppsala-modellen står i centrum, kompletterad med grundläggande teoretiska förutsättningar avseende egna etableringar respektive företagsförvärv samt avseende tillväxtmarknader. In Sweden there are 354 000 private individuals owning forest. Of these forest owners there are at least two thirds that are self-employed, which means that about 215 000 forest owners conduct some kind of work in their own forest. Those numbers do not refer to firewood production, but every year 7.3 million piled cubic meters of firewood are used for heating Swedish households. This implies that many households are also producing firewood. The objective of this study was to assess and analyse the small-scale firewood production in the Umeå-region in terms of persons engaged in the work, equipment used, produced volumes and share of forest-owning households involved in these activities. According to results from a questionnaire, the average firewood producing person is a man between 40-60 years old.

Quality assurance of construction projects and create effective ways of working, is intoday's pressed position, major objectives for building contractor companies. This thesis is an attempt to see if it is possible to achieve these goals with the new modern tool iPad.The author of this thesis has during the latter half of his one year practice work in Uppsala for the Swedish building construction company NCC Construction Sverige AB, conducted a study on the possibility of using the iPad on an construction site. This has been done with active field studies in which applications have been tested and also the supervisors receptive. The usability of the iPad has always been in focus since it is important that the applications are easy to use and easy to learn.The results of the work, as presented in this report, points at opportunities in efficiency if the iPad is introduced and used on construction site. There are many useful applications for the iPad, and with a system that can handle the synchronization between the iPad and the computer, the workflow will be streamlined significantly..

Uppsatsen vill ge svar på vad den svenska bilindustrin bör tänka på i framtiden för att möta den alltmer miljömedvetna kunden. Intervjuer har genomförts med Volvo och Saab, branschexpertis samt konsumenter för att belysa olika synsätt kring dagens och framtida miljöproblem. Det vi kom fram till var att såväl Volvo som Saab bör fokusera på färre antal attribut. Företagen stärker sin miljöprofil om man ytterligare framhåller bilens miljöpåverkan snarare än andra, för många självklara, attribut. Företagen stärker också trovärdigheten i sin miljöpolitik om en ökad satsning på mindre och bränslesnålare bilar genomförs.

Den här rapporten handlar om det examensarbete som utförts mot Volvo 3P genom forskningsprojektet Viktor. Viktor är ett projekt som ska visa möjligheten med virtuell produktframtagning av gjutna komponenter. Volvo 3P är ett företag som utvecklar lastbilar. Uppgiften har varit att visa möjligheten att använda topologioptimering som ett verktyg i konstruktionsfasen. Detta har gjorts med hjälp av ett case som erhållits från Volvo 3P.

ABSTRACTThis project thesis has been written at the request of Mälardalens University, Västerås.The aeronautical engineering students at Mälardalens University and the pupils of Hässlö upper secondary school, all gets the opportunity to perform a computation lab with a real turbojet engine during their study. The goal of the lab from the University is that it should give the students applied experience from the theory part of which has been tought in the course ?Aircraft Engine Technology?.                      The pupils of the Hässlö upper secondary school are performing simpler calculations from the measured values of the equipment. This turbojet engine is located at Hässlö airport in the premises of Hässlö upper seconday school.Since the installation 1989, the engine has lost both thrust and reliability. This makes the theoretical computations made by the students inaccurate.
