This study is an attempt to examine the information needs and use in everyday tasks inthe work environment of community health nurses. The purpose of this paper is double toexamine the information need and use of the community health nurses and to test and validatea method and a theory for the studying of information need and use in workers everydaytasks adapted from Byström and Järvelin (1995). Most of the data were collected throughdiaries kept by the informants in close relationship to the problem situations and were analysedqualitatively. Furthermore a literature survey was made in nursing infomatics and informationscience and it showed that there is no absolute common ground between the disciplinesin the way they use the information concept.The theory and method were validated in a broad outline and were very useful in the study ofcommunity health nurses' information needs and use. The study also shows that the contextof community health nurses plays an important role in the nurses information behaviour..

Virtual Communities is an increasingly common phenomenon on the Internet. Most of the Virtual Communities are operated and maintained on a non-profit basis with a direction towards entertainment. However, as more state administrated and commercial services become web-based, we believe that the number of Virtual Communities with a community-based or commercial direction will increase in a near future. In this thesis, we describe our participation in, and studies of, a number of Virtual Communities with focus on the IRC-channel ?3dfxsweden?. On the basis of our experiences, we describe the social elements that form the foundation on which the Virtual Community rely on.

In the year of 2002 a new council regulation on community designs was implemented. In the beginning of the essay the legal situtation before the implementation is investigated and part of the purpose is to evaluate if it constitutes a solution to the problems with protection of fashion designs that existed then. Because fashion designs more or less were excluded from protection during the period before the implementation the fashion business developed a habit of unauthorized reproduction. This attitude among the market players is a central point of the essay. The essay starts off with a review of the earlier lack of possibilities regarding the protection of fashion designs.

The aim of this master?s study is to examine the function of the public library in the local community at present. I have searched for the answers to the following questions: Which position has the public library in the local cultural policy? What characterizes each library and which are the priorities? What is the local profile of the public library? What cooperation partners does the public library have and what do they mean to the library? Does the public library intensify the local community in any way? To answer this, I have made three qualitative case studies. Interviews and collection of documents were carried out in three different communities.

Purpose: The purpose with this study is to clarify what importance a co-occurrence event can have on a smaller town, and also what positive and negative consequences it can have on the town seen from a social, economic and political aspect. I will also look at what magnitude the festival have on the local commercial and industrial life and how it affects those who live there. I will also determent how the moving of the festival might come and affect the local businesses, the local population and the community it-self.Method: I will thorough-out this study work with qualitative research methodology. I will there-for process the empirical data that will be collected and used for this study from a qualitative research methodology point of view. I will likewise go through with two deep-going interviews with people well familiar with the subject to increase and strengthen the validity of my study.

In this thesis we focus on the issue of crowdfunding and especially how a project relates to and embraces its community. While a lot of related research focus on what makes people give, our research instead delve into whether a creator looks upon the sponsors as something more than just a financial resource. To manage this task we used a triangular perspective consisting of a case study, a questionnaire and a netnographic study. The goal was to gain the perspectives of creators, crowdfunding platforms and sponsors on how the communication between the community and the project works and can be improved.       The three crowdfunding platforms we reviewed (Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, Rockethub) all had fairly similar models on how to attract sponsors and make them involved in the project, while the questionnaire and netnographic study demonstrated how a community could contribute in different ways.

Går det att utläsa särskilda teman utifrån inläggen? På vilket sätt kan forumet tänkas vara till någon hjälp för medlemmarna?Den teoretiska ramen för denna uppsats innefattar Stephen P. This thesis focuses on youth unemployment in Finspång, often referred as an industrial community. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on social constructionism and covers theoretical discourse analysis, intersectionality and social capital. The study is based on qualitative interviews with 7 unemployed individuals between the ages of 19-24 and an interview with an employee at the employment office in the community. The main subject in this thesis is the youngsters experience with unemployment, labour, the employment office, the impacts of social capital and the labour market in the community. The analysis focuses in how the respondents discuss their experienced problems with their unemployment.

Arbetets syfte är att undersöka berättelseformer i datorspel baserade på tillämpningen av sceneri, avgränsat till spelarens uppfattning av tid och plats. Utifrån de svårigheter som förknippas med framställningen av naturligt förfall och framställningen av teknologiska möjligheter har två hypoteser formulerats; då att spelaren främst skapar sig en uppfattning om spelets tidsperiod utifrån upplevt artificiella objekt, samt att spelaren främst skapar sig en uppfattning om spelets verklighetsförankring utifrån spelets miljö. För undersökningens syfte har en virtuell miljö framställts i tre olika versioner, de två första avsedda att testa arbetets hypoteser avskilt, den senare avsedd att testa båda i samma miljö. Undersökningen har skett genom testspelning av dessa av totalt 30 testdeltagare. Undersökningens resultat styrker arbetets hypoteser, då den första i högre grad än den andra, men påvisar även svårigheter förknippade med sammanförandet av de metoder som tillämpats..

This study examines the closure of public libraries, and the nonprofit organizations takeover of them as a phenomenon. The aim is to understand why the nonprofit takeover is common and what the takeover symbolizes and if the discourse in media invokes the views on libraries and the profession.Interviews were made with librarians, politicians and representatives of a nonprofit organization to study different sides of the phenomenon. Other empirical data were found in local and national newspapers and media-channels. I discovered that public libraries are highly valued by both politicians and the community. The study also showed that a library in a community makes people feel valued.

This thesis focuses on the motives and incitements for voluntary work. The main question for this thesis is why people get involved in voluntary work. What are the motives and incitements for voluntary commitment and what do people gain from this kind of commitment? The thesis is based upon qualitative research methods at Frivilligcentralen in Norrköping. The theoretical perspectives are a community commitment, satisfaction of being part of a meaningful context, altruistic and self-interest and an increased pace of social changes.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka 3D-grafikens betydelse vid användandet av 3D-miljöer i virtuell exponeringsterapi mot klaustrofobi. Klaustrofobi är rädslan för inte kunna andas eller känna sig instängd i slutna rum. Enligt tidigare forskning har virtuell exponeringsterapi mot klaustrofobi visat sig vara en effektiv, billig och säkert metod. Forskning har dock inte visat vilken inverkan 3D-grafiken i miljön har på användaren.För att besvara undersökningens frågeställning skapades två artefakter - en miljö i abstrakt grafisk stil samt en miljö i realistisk grafisk stil. En fokusgrupp med tre individer med klaustrofobiska tendenser utan diagnos för klaustrofobi fick uppleva de båda miljöerna och fylla i två enkäter samt delta i en intervju.

Uppsatsen behandlar ?gated community? ett känt fenomen i många delar av världen och börjar även växa fram i Sverige. Syftet med uppsatsen är att förstå begreppet ?gated community?. Mer specifikt undersöka och jämföra förhållandet mellan tre olika företags marknadsförings innehåll med definitionen av gated community och teorierna som tas upp i arbetet.

Our understanding is that responsibility is shifting from the community towards the individual within the field of social work. This resulted in our essay, which aims to study how the representatives within social service assistance and churches in Helsingborg work with personal power. Our aim is also to illustrate how these representatives view the boundaries of responsibility between the individual and the community. Our questions are: How do the representatives work with personal power from a micro and macro perspective? How do the representatives look upon their position as representatives? What do the representatives consider as responsibility of the individual respective the community? And; Are there preventing factors from individual responsibility? We obtained our empirical material from a qualitative method consisting of interviews.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka det värde som uppfattas och vilka förväntningar som finns kring visualiseringsteknik vid marknadsföring av nybyggnationer och varför dessa förväntningar existerar. Ett samarbete mellan en mäklarfirma och en tjänsteleverantör där man använt sig av ett headset för att visualisera obyggda bostäder och ge användaren möjlighet att ta sig runt i bostaden har undersökts. Med hjälp av modern teknik har tjänsteleverantören skapat en virtuell värld, där användaren kan bilda en rumsuppfattning. Denna teknik har inte tidigare använts på detta sätt i Sverige och det var därför intressant att undersöka värdet av tekniken inom detta användningsområde. Detta gjordes genom att ta reda på varför man har valt att använda sig av tekniken, vilka förväntningar och förhoppningar som finns på tekniken och hur tekniken upplevs.
