This study describes how a larger investment by a private company in the northern interior can affect a municipality?s economy. The mobility to the municipality is expected to increase and some of the direct and indirect effects that this investment can implicate on their economy are discussed. The method for this study is qualitative. Interviews have been made with the initiative owner of the company LHG Learning Center and with civil servants in the municipality of Lycksele. The conclusions drawn in this study are that the establishment of LHG Learning Centers in Lycksele will include both opportunities and risks for the municipality?s future.

The purpose of this study was to find out what pedagogues in preschool think when it comes to children?s influence and how they do to give the children opportunity to express their thoughts and point of views and thereby influence their situation.The literature review treats the conception of the competent child and shows that having child perspective is important in meeting children. The literature review implies that participation and influence means sensitivity to children?s expressions and that pedagogues lets these expressions influence the activities in preschool. It is not about children always getting their ways, but that they are respected and are given space to think freely.Searching for pedagogues? thoughts on children?s influence and how they do for giving it, I interviewed six persons, working at six different preschools.

Overall aim of this master?s thesis is to describe and identify perceived barriers in Swedish businesses within solar energy field and analyze, based on four theoretical viewpoints, how these barriers can be handled. In other words how can the barriers be overcome or eliminated to better succeed in the commercialization process? The method applied is qualitative in which data has been collected through phone interviews originated from seven Cleantech businesses which operate within solar energy. Furthermore this thesis has a descriptive- and an explorative purpose.

I undersökningen beskrivs fyra sångares tillvägagångssätt vid inlärning av en okänd sång. Två stycken med utgångspunkt från en notbild (notläsning) samt två stycken med utgångspunkt från en cd-inspelning (gehör). Följande forskningsfrågor har varit övergripande: Vilka likheter och vilka skillnader finns det mellan de två informanterna inom respektive inlärningsmetod i valet av strategier och verktyg? Vilka likheter och vilka skillnader finns det mellan de två inlärningsmetoderna i valet av strategier och verktyg? Resultatet visar på likheter i strategier: samtliga deltagarna börjar med att lyssna alternativt se över sången i sin helhet innan de börjar dela upp inlärningen i mindre delar som de repeterar. Att röra på sig genom att ömsom sitta, ömsom stå var också genomgående för alla fyra.

En diskursanalys av USAs självbild efter terrorattacken den 11 september 2001Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur USAs självbild ser ut efter terrorattacken den 11 september 2001. Detta intresse har uppkommit eftersom jag anser att man för att förstå hur internationella makter agerar måste förstå hur de minsta beståndsdelarna ? individer ? agerar. Det verkar finnas en kunskapslucka inom detta specifika område vilket har föranlett att den tidigare forskning som presenteras är av samhällsvetenskaplig natur.

The intention of this study is to investigate why some regions, which choose to secede from their parent country, are internationally recognized and others are not. The case studies of this study are South Sudan and Somaliland. South Sudan is as of now the world?s newest state, and Somaliland is a break-away state that is considered a part of Somalia by the International community. There are conditions that have to be fulfilled, before existing nations recognize the break-away state, such as an agreement between the seceded state and the parent country, which was the case for South Sudan and Sudan.

This qualitative study is aimed to find out how teachers at one preschool relate to influence and boundaries. This has been carried out through qualitative interviews whose contents have been analyzed and processed. The theoretical framework of the study is the philosophy of John Dewey derived from Pragmatism, where thought and action is seen as one where the child needs to try and experiment to learn. We are two authors who stand for this study in which we both were present at all times for the interviews.The interviews revealed that teachers believe that influence is important for children's self-esteem, to become a good citizen of the community and to learn that certain things are expected. It also emerged that influence combined with boundaries is seen as very important.It appeared that the teachers look at influence in preschool in three different ways - influence here and now, influence in the future and influence for the children self-esteem.

The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to present why boys and girls choose to enroll at the Swedish Baseball and Softball Academy, a form of sport profiled education given within the Swedish high school system. A secondary purpose is to present the types of expectations the adolescents have before enrollment, while also examining what they encounter as satisfaction factors during their time at the academy. The results show that the significant factors critical for the eventual enrollment are friends, passion and development within baseball or softball. Before the enrollment, students have expectations of good, quality and hard practices. The students state that factors such as friends and the community where the academy is located is important for their wellbeing and comfort.

Hur olika människor lär sig nya kunskaper är högst individuellt, vissa kanske vill lyssna på musik medan vissa behöver absolut tystnad. Det som dock är gemensamt för alla är att det som behövs för att främja lärande är en stressfri miljö där eleven känner sig säker. En lagermiljö är ofta väldigt stressig och påfrestande och är inte en optimal plats för utbildning. En anställd på ICAs lager i Hacksta Västerås skall på en väldigt begränsad tid lära sig att köra truck, packa varor samt hantera ett komplicerat system. Upplärning i denna stressade miljö leder till osäkerhet och större risk för att göra fel.

The purpose of this qualitative case study is to explain and discover how a Swedish commune works with their external crisis communication during a large crisis. The case study revolved around a simulation exercise with Mjölby commune that was and organized by the company VSL Systems AB. The study addresses the difficulties that arise within the crisis communication, and shows witch factors that are important to consider, when you are responsible for an entire community.Our result shows that the relationship with media could be utilized in a better way and both parties could benefit from cooperation. The commune could have used varied communication channels to create more effective crisis communication which had reached a bigger group of people. The information was not adapted to the different groups to the extent it could have been..

Studien görs i samarbete med ett mindre svenskt modeföretag som i stor utsträckning arbetar med draperade produkter. Överföringen från draperat plagg till ett reproducerbart platt mönster består av ett omfattande arbete med uppsömnad av ett stort antal provplagg. Därför finns ett stort intresse för att resurseffektivisera denna process. I studien undersöks CAD och 3D-simulering som komplement vid framtagningen av produktionsanpassade mönster i syfte att återskapa en specifik draperat form. Som utgångsläge för studien finns ett plagg som draperats på docka av den externa handledaren och designer på företaget.

This qualitative study examines if an interest in soccer can give the same meaningfulexperiences in a person's life as a religion would. Five soccer fans were interviewedregarding the meanings and impact of soccer in their lives. Two theories in the fields ofsport and religion were used to analyze the data: Antonovsky's sense of coherence (SOC)with its components meaningfulness, manageability and comprehensibility and Heelasand Woodheads "life-as" and "the subjective-life? derived from the concept "thesubjective turn". It was concluded that the interest in soccer affected the respondents?views of life.The respondents? personal identities were strongly associated with groupmembership, meaning that their interest in common with others was perceived to makeeveryday life meaningful and manageable.

For a long time economic tax equalization system in Sweden has been creating dispute between Swedish communities. Despite the main purpose of the system - to reduce disparities and create equal economic opportunities for all communities ? some regions were not satisfied.The main purpose of this study is to determine what extant has equalization tax on investment spending of Danderyd municipality during 2000-2010 year period. The study is based on annual reports and personal interviews. The theoretical frame of the investigation is founded on Fjertorp's classification of investments and public choice theory.The investigation shows that there were no significant changes neither in investment spending or equalization tax during 2000-2010 period, even after the last changes of economic tax equalizations system in 2005.

Genomslagsgummin är komponenter som används i fordonschassin till hjul- eller hyttupphängningen för att undvika kraftiga kollisioner mellan exempelvis framaxeln och ramen då fjädringen bottnar. Vid genomslag genomgår dessa komponenter hastiga kompressionsförlopp med stora deformationer. Eftersom materialkarakteristiken för gummi är kraftigt olinjär blir dynamiken i systemet svår att beskriva.De beräkningsmodeller som finns att tillgå i MBS-programvaran Adams idag är mycket förenklade och beskriver inte dessa förlopp på ett tillfredsställande sätt. Målet med detta examensarbete var att utifrån resultaten från dynamisk provning utveckla en beräkningsmodell som beskriver kraften som verkar på gummit som en funktion av kompressionsförskjutning och -hastighet. Den framtagna modellen implementerades sedan som en subrutin till Adams.Fyra olika genomslagsgummin provades kvasistatiskt i en hydraulisk press och dynamiskt i en fallrigg som var konstruerad för detta ändamål.

In contemporary Sweden political participation among foreign-born Swedes is viewed as low and it is well known that foreign-born individuals do not use their voting rights to the same extent as the general population. At the same time there are numerous ethnic associations around the country who work with various activities involving political, democratic and integration issues. This study aims to study how four members of a Somali association regard, relate to and work with politics, democracy and integration. The study is based on these four people, but also on their relationship with authorities and other agencies in the community. The conclusion of this study shows in brief that the desire to participate politically is great, but that democracy and politics is accessible to all, depending on the level of language skills and what political knowledge the individual has.
