The digital era has led to technical advances that have transformed the role of the public library from being a place that is used only through physical visits and material, into also being a Virtual space that can be accessed by users from outside the library through Internet-based access to e-media such as e-books and streamed or downloadable audiobooks.The aim of this study is to examine how the role of public libraries in Stockholm County has changed in the process of developing into digital libraries: how this has affected their organisation, work methods and strate- gies, as well as their accessibility. The theoretical framework of the study draws on Michael K. Bucklands theory of information accessibility, which is based on six factors of access that are determined by different types of barriers. The methodology is based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Primary data was gathered through an empirical survey, which consisted of a structured questionnaire distributed to most of the public libraries in Stockholm County and semi-structured interviews with selected librarians and experts for further in-depth understanding.

This master thesis is about Augmented Reality (AR), a phenomenon that has existed since the mid-fifties but only recently has become available for the general public. This report is a knowledge compilation about AR, focusing on AR in cell phones and the use of the technology in traffic related situations.AR is usually described as adding a digital layer of information onto the real world. There are different technologies to make Virtual images; in cell phones sensor-based and camera-based technologies are the most common ones.In this report, the market of AR applications for cell phones has been investigated. Three use cases have also been investigated in order to get more knowledge about the designers' thoughts and visions.In order to analyze the technology and the applications in a broader and more scientific perspective, two theories has been used: Situation Awareness (SA) and the Service Dominant Logic (SDL). These theories seem useful when reflecting on the Swedish road administrations vision, and to investigate what the applications and the AR technology can contribute to the traffic domain.The conclusions of this thesis are that:- AR can be applied on most of the human senses, but augmenting by visualization is most common.- The market for cell phone applications is growing rapidly: AR applications are relatively new but on the rise.

Syftet: Syftet med denna uppsats var att se hur Nordiska Afrikainstitutet använder sig av sociala medier och hur de tillämpar den information som organisationen kommunicerat via de sociala medierna.Teoretisk ram: Uppsatsen utgår ifrån teorier som ger överblick i hur traditionella och moderna kommunikationsredskap fungerar. Därutöver har ett analytiskt instrument använts som kartlägger kommunikationsprocesser i organisationer samt hur dessa tar tillvara på ny kunskap. Den teoretiska referensram består av följande teorier: Media Richness modellen samt de två artiklarna On using organizational knowledge capabilities to assist organizational learning samt Virtual worlds as platforms for communities of pratices från antologin Knowledge management and organizational learning.Metod: Uppsatsen bygger på en kvalitativ metod. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom respondentintervjuer, dessa bestod av telefonintervjuer samt epostkorrespondens. För att urskilja respondenterna har ett snöbollsurval använts. Intervjuerna har därefter analyserats utifrån den teoretiska referensramen.Resultat: Resultatet av undersökningen visar att både traditionella och sociala medier används vid institutet där de traditionella medierna anses trovärdiga men inte alltid flexibla. De sociala medier som används är Facebook, Twitter och institutets egna forum kallat NAI-forum.

This bachelor thesis has the purpose to visualize and document the air movementsprovided by different ventilation principles in an operating theatre. The visualizationwill be made as simple as possible in a physical model. The model and thedocumentation should be able to use in educational purposes.The study is based on the two most common systems for airflow, currently used inoperating theatres. The first principle is displacement ventilation in which the air issupplied at low velocity along the floor. The second principle is vertical parallel laminarairflow in which the air is compressed like a piston from ceiling to the floor.A review of literature resulted in the choice of size, design, and scale factor for themodel, as well as choices of ventilation principles and airflows.

Syftet med undersökningen var att är få ökad insikt om den sociala interaktionen på forumet med hjälp av dessa tre frågeställningar: Hur ser interaktionen/samspelet ut mellan medlemmarna på forumet? Går det att utläsa särskilda teman utifrån inläggen? På vilket sätt kan forumet tänkas vara till någon hjälp för medlemmarna?Den teoretiska ramen för denna uppsats innefattar Stephen P. Saab Automobile AB i Trollhättan är i behov av en förbättrad metod för virtuella byggnationer som beredningen kan använda sig av i biltillverkningen. Genom att skapa en processtruktur i befintligt PLM-system som kan kommunicera och hämta data från den produktstruktur som redan finns skulle mycket arbete kunna sparas. Idag använder beredarna sig av ett visualiseringsprogram som man kopplar produktstrukturen till. Enligt nuvarande metod bygger beredarna upp en struktur i detta visualiseringsprogram som fungerar som en processtruktur inför varje ny projektgrind. Denna struktur går inte att enkelt uppdatera och därför måste en ny skapas inför varje ny projektgrind.

De tidigare standardmåtten har avskaffats för att i högre grad möta kundens önskemål om längd och bredd.

As landscape architects, we work with human and unique processes, and thus it isdifficult to develop standardized and automatic software for our profession. One possiblesolution is to turn to open source development, where software and models are shared andanyone can contribute.
