The purpose of this master thesis is to show how a chosen actor in form of the Swedish union organization IF Metall (the Swedish union for metal- and industrial workers) works with pro-reading activities. The project being scrutinized is the Read to me dad-project which aims at fathers who are not used to reading activities within the LO-group (the Swedish Trade Union Confederation). The methods used are interviews and literary studies. The theoretical background of my discussion is based on three education ideals. The neo-humanist ideal emphasizes the personal improvement through literature.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the significance of the national assessment in highschool education, including what the teachers express about the new instructions currently coming from the Swedish National Agency of Education, concerning a more central control of grading the national assessments. This study also covers the teachers individual responsibility when it comes to grading the national assessments. The purpose of the national assessment is to secure that grading and the education level in the country is equal. This is a qualitative study useing the method of a group discussion intervju (focusgroup intervju). Five highschool teachers took part in the discussion with questions that had been decided beforehand.

Public health is a concern of many important areas of society and it is therefore of great importance to examine and expand the goals of public health work within different sectors, e.g., school. Sexually transmitted diseases, sexual violence and mental health problems related to sexual orientation are some of the public health problems in society today. Throughout childhood and teenage years, norms and attitudes regarding sexuality and coexistence are formed, which means that school is an important arena when it comes to creating proficient conditions for    coexistence and sexual health. The quality of sex and coexistence education in Swedish schools differs in quality; for content and magnitude vary greatly among schools. It is, therefore, of interest to study how students experience sex and coexistence education, like prioritizations and desires.

Inom undervisning av Objekt-Orienterad Programmering (OOP) blir metaforer ett allt viktigare redskap. En av anledningarna till detta är bland annat metaforers kapacitet till att underlätta undervisning av ämnesrelaterade koncept. Den här rapporten syftar till att synliggöra och analysera lärares bruk av metaforer som redskap och stöd i undervisning av OOP. För att möjliggöra det här har jag genomfört ett antal intervjuer på ett gymnasium i Skåne. Intervjuerna har skett med lärare som undervisar i OOP-relaterade ämnen.

This essay is written at the university of Linköping and is a part of the teachers education. The intire essay is available on CD-rom. Its content is directed towards teachers who entirely or partly works, or want to work, in computereducation. The CD-rom contains both textmaterial and presentations, with teacherinstructions, wich are directly appliable in teaching computers. The purpose of this C-essay within the subject of religion is to form a notion as to how the attitudes towards women and their position in a theoretical biblical society might have been perceived, based upon a select number of texts from the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch).Since this essay was written under the framework of the teacher education programme, it is also integrated with the pedagogy subject. This manifests itself with the didactic reflection at the end of this essay, where I try to relate the subject of this essay to the teaching profession.The material, which consists of excerpts from the first and second chapters of Genesis, and aselection of the laws in the first five books of the Bible (from Genesis to Deuteronomy), wasanalysed according to an ideological model, where themes and patterns have been more important than specific word choices.The analysis showed that the views on women vary depending on who writes and who interprets a specific text extract, and the conclusion was that since laws reflect the society it is likely that they were created to improve women's status to make it as equal to the man's as possible.The didactic reflection offers suggestions for lesson plans on the themes gender, feminism andfeministic theology..

Thavenius (2009:23-122) and Dahl (1999:49-82) explains that literary education in school has gone from, in the 1800s, barely existed on receiving the fairly central location it has today. Fredriksson (2010:2-3) points out that there are several threats to the ancient writers and writings in danger of being forgotten. The purpose with this essay was to examine how to work with literary history in school, and whether and how to work with regional literature history. To fulfill the purpose of this paper three high school teacher in Swedish were interviewed.The survey shows that respondents working in various ways with the history of literature, either in the eras, themes or projects. The perception of what literature and the authors to be affected varies between respondents, particularly the perception of the work about authors from Värmland.

Grammatikundervisningens plats i skolan har förändrats genom historien och denna uppsats har för avsikt att undersöka om begreppskunskapen är viktigare än nyttan för elever med svenska som modersmål i grammatikundervisningen på gymnasieskolan idag. Med hjälp av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning utreds gymnasiepedagogers syn på ?grammatik? och grammatikundervisning. I definitionen av ?grammatik? framkommer mest frekvent av respondenterna att det handlar om språkets uppbyggnad, språkets struktur och en medvetenhet om språkriktighet.

I mitt examensarbete har jag valt att undersöka de tankar som finns kring vem som spelar vilket instrument. Vilka ord, som har med utseende respektive personlighet att göra, förknippar studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt en svensk folkhögskola med de utvalda instrumentalisterna; -klassisk tubaist, fiolspelande folkmusiker, klassisk tvärflöjtist, afrosångaren, afrotrummisen, klassisk pianist? Vilket kön, vilket utseende och vilken personlighet tänker de sig att respektive instrumentalist har? Genom en enkätundersökning har jag försökt ta reda på detta. Jag delade ut enkäter till studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt till musikstuderande vid en svensk folkhögskola. Av 201 utdelade enkäter fick jag in 49 svar.

The purpose of the thesis is to find out what characterizes a good leadership in the school. Five persons from two different schools were interviewed. From one school the female vice principal was interviewed. From the other school four persons were interviewed ? the female principal, the male vice principal, a male teacher and a female teacher.  This was executed  to get a picture of their view on a successful leadership in the school.

This essay is about why and how the media is integrated with Swedish as a subject. The purpose of the study is to investigate if the teachers who use different media when teaching Swedish consider that this pedagogy develops the students? learning. I also aim to find out if there are any differences and/or similarities between the teachers.To fulfil the purpose I have done a qualitative study with three teachers who work at a school. I have focused on following issues: How, when, where and why do the teachers use media when teaching Swedish?The investigation shows that media is popular today and it is becoming more so all the time.

As we have been actively involved in various teaching programmes for many years, we wanted to enquire how the students and teachers understood their school and compare it to how we experienced it.  Do the students fully understand the knowledge they are receiving and can they learn from it? Do the teachers believe what they are teaching is understood by the students? What is the underlining knowledge of social practices in the school, which can inspire students in different ways? The aim of the study, as the title suggests, is to convey and describe the various methods practiced in a specific social practice.Our project is a quality study.  We have used observation, specific intense individual and group interviews. In the result, arrives a different message through what there is possible for the students to learn about the matter. These messages are visible in the different attitudes the teacher, the school and the organisation have vis-à-vis the matter. In the discussion, we have focussed on what has arrived in the result around the teacher's and the organisation's attitudes.

Syftet med studien är att beskriva sju lärares reflektioner kring hur de ger sina elever möjligheter att lära i NO- undervisningen. Lärarna arbetar upp till skolår 6 och är erkänt skickliga i sin undervisning.Under vår lärarutbildning vid Högskolan i Skövde har vi blivit intresserade av hur vi som lärare kan ge elever möjligheter att lära. Utifrån egna erfarenheter kan vi se vissa brister i undervisningen av de naturorienterade ämnena.  Med dessa två utgångspunkter valde vi att skriva om NO-undervisning.  I studien användes en kvalitativ metod, där vårt urval gav oss möjlighet att intervjua sju erkänt skickliga lärare. Urvalet var strategiskt för att kunna intervjua lärare som har en undervisning av god kvalitet. Utifrån lärarnas reflektioner har vi funnit möjligheter för elever att lära i NO-undervisningen.

The purpose of my independent work was to develop and test a task-specific assessment matrix to the students writing logs that occurs in connection with their APL (workplace-based learning). The matrix is based on upper secondary school subject plan House building from The Swedish National Agency for Education and the four courses House building process, House building 1, House building 2 and House building 3 - conversion. Due to the matrix structure, I used the example matrix of Malmö University. The task-specific assessment must both serve as a guide for students in the implementation of the log writing, and in the evaluation of the assessment work. Both students and teachers then get a common assessment tool for evaluation.

Denna studie syftar till att, ur ett multimodalt perspektiv, få kännedom om hur digitala verktyg används av lärare i undervisningssyfte på Södertörns högskola, samt studenters inställning till de medietekniska hjälpmedlen. Detta har gjorts med hjälp av observationer, intervjuer och enkätundersökningar som genomfördes med lärare och studenter.Det resultat som observationerna gav stämde överens med resultatet från intervjuer och enkätundersökningar. Studien visar att digitala verktyg används sparsamt av lärare på högskolan. Föreläsningar med PowerPoint-presentationer som i stort sett enbart innehöll text och bilder var i särklass det vanligaste undervisningsredskapet. Lärarna har generellt en positiv inställning till digitala verktyg men på grund av tidsbrist och begränsningar i hur och vilka digitala hjälpmedel som får användas i undervisningen hämmas de.
