The purpose of this thesis is to examine whether the teacher's background affect students' approach to mathematics teaching. Characteristically, in Sweden today is that mathematics is perceived as difficult subject and that the number of foreign teachers has increased. The study examines a phenomenon which the relationship between the teacher's language accent and substance difficulties.The method used for data collection is questionnaires, in order to investigate the phenomenon as the relationship between the teacher's accent and substance difficulties.The investigation has been carried out based on the students' point of view, both secondary and primary school pupils. What difficulties have arisen in teaching?  What is the biggest obstacle to achieve the goals of mathematics, to understand the teacher's language accent first in order to understand the subject, or that mathematics is difficult in itself to be understood as a substance.The result clearly shows that the teacher's accent does not affect teaching and students' view of mathematics as a subject.

Bakgrund: Patienter med Alzheimers sjukdom har laglig rätt att vara delaktig i beslut om planering och genomförande av omvårdnadshandlingar. När patienten själv inte kan föra fram egna åsikter har närstående en central roll i dialog med sjuksköterskor eller annan vårdpersonal. Vid Alzheimers sjukdom får dock patienter och närstående inte alltid vara delaktiga i beslut om sin vård. Syfte: Syfte med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa hur kommunikation kan hindra patientens och närståendes delaktighet vid Alzheimers sjukdom. Metod: Litteraturöversikt som baseras på tio vetenskapliga artiklar, åtta med kvalitativ och två med kvantitativ metod, som alla fokuserade på patienters och närståendes upplevelser av kommunikation i vårdsituationen.

?Dementia is an umbrella term for several symptoms of impaired brain function. The person's behavior is affected when mental functions such as memory, attention, concentration and language are affected and the dementia patient can have difficulties to interpret sensory input. Communication is based a lot on body language. It is therefore important for the caregiver to seek eye contact with the patient in order to simplify communication and it can be of great help to show with the whole body what they mean and be able to point out things.

Mitt syfte med detta examensarbete är att få en djupare förståelse om pedagogers tankar, erfarenheter och kunskap till att stödja tvåspråkiga barns språkutveckling. Genom intervjuer har jag kunnat ta del av hur pedagogerna enligt dem själva, anser hur de går tillväga för att stimulera språkutvecklingen i förskolan. Vilka möjligheter ges till barnen i förskolan för att främja det svenska språket hos tvåspråkiga barn. Resultatet visar att pedagogerna anser att barnens vistelse på förskolan är en språkstimulerande miljö där barnen dagligen tränar det svenska språket. Trygga barn har lättare att ta till sig ett nytt språk, därför ska pedagogerna arbeta väldigt nära barnen. Pedagogerna arbetar aktivt med språkutveckling på många olika sätt.

The objective of this graduate work is to gain a better understanding in how pre-school educators are able to work with music in their pre-school activity to promote child development. We also want to enlighten possible factors for the development of children based on music and to form our own ideas of whether teachers choose to apply music in their didactic practice or not.The point of this essay has been to attempt answering on what importance music makes for children's development and learning in pre-school, and how teachers could work with music in pre-school in order to promote children?s development. Our data consists of six interviews and two observations realized at a pre-school in Södertälje.We took heed from the theories laid out by Lev Vygotsky's which describe four different levels of development that includes educational development in social interaction between teacher and child. Our choice of this theory is inspired by our seeking deeper understanding of Vygotsky's theory´s application to the aesthetic approach in the interaction in meaning making and learning.The result of our study confirms previous theory and research in that music as a form of expression has a major impact on children's development.

The purpose of this investigation is to compare the teaching in reading of three pedagogues in form 2 in three different schools from a second language perspective. Among other things it implies to investigate how the pedagogues think of teaching in reading and the reading field to be compared with if these fields are adjusted to a diverse cultural perspective. This investigation is carried out through observations and interviews. To compare the schools they have been picked out from the number of pupils and the number of second language pupils, that is 15 %, 67 % and 95%. The investigation also includes how the pedagogues weigh the pros and cons within reading and working methods.The further reading is built upon theories and previous research that have an attachment to the view of the sociocultural and the diverse cultural perspectives of teaching.

Studien avser att belysa frekvensen av mobbning, typ av mobbning, kunskap om var den sker och, om det finns någon skillnad i pojkars respektive flickors beteende i avseende till om någon mobbar eller blir mobbad. En skola vidtalades. Ett frågeformulär med 22 frågor med fasta svarsskalor och en öppen fråga användes. Tendensen är att det är fler flickor än pojkar som har blivit mobbade. Det är en signifikant skillnad mellan pojkar och flickor på den öppna frågan.

Sammandrag Syftet med den här undersökningen var att undersöka hur pedagogerna på en förskola i Värmland upplever att införandet av TAKK har påverkat barnens språkutveckling. Jag ville också undersöka hur de språkutvecklande aktiviteterna på en småbarnsavdelning har förändrats sedan 2005 och vilken roll TAKK har i detta. Dessutom ville jag se om personalen använde tecken på alla avdelningar på förskolan. Jag kom fram till att den största skillnaden när det gäller språkutvecklande aktiviteter är att de har infört TAKK på småbarnsavdelningen som stöd till alla barn. Med hjälp av observationer och intervjuer på den aktuella förskolan kunde jag konstatera att pedagogerna på förskolan upplever att tecken är bra för alla små barns språkutveckling eftersom de har upptäckt att barnen fått ett mer utvecklat språk sedan metoden infördes. Litteraturstudierna bekräftade att TAKK kan användas till alla barn, även små barn, eftersom det blir ett redskap för barnet i sin kommunikation. Pedagogerna på förskolan upplever mindre frustration i barngruppen då barn och pedagoger förstår varandra mycket bättre idag.

AbstractThis thesis is centered on the economic condition and background of immigrants living in Sweden, with focus on Araby, Växjö. To guide us through this enormous work we formulated research questions, which are:Why have foreigners (immigrants) a greater risk of becoming economic vulnerable? How does economic vulnerability effect families with children?What strategies do families adopt under hard economic conditions? What strategies does the society adopt in assisting families, by economic aid, that are economic vulnerable?  Our sample was from a school where we administered an open ended questionnaire to selected students and we also had a comprehensive interview session with ten families in the community so as to have a complete picture of their living condition and how they think people are economically vulnerable.We concentrated on the causes, consequences and strategies of how economic vulnerability is handled by immigrants in Sweden. In our analysis we found out, though our respondents? answers, that the causes of economic vulnerable are background, language, priorities et cetera.

Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka hur gymnasieelever upplever undervisningen i muntlig framställning. 9 elever ur en samhällsvetenskaplig klass årskurs 1 på gymnasiet deltog i undersökningen. För att undersöka deras upplevelse genomfördes intervjuer, en per elev. De tre frågorna som varit centrala genom hela arbetet är: Hur upplever eleverna att de får möjlighet att arbeta upp sin muntliga förmåga? Hur upplever de att lärarna ser till deras enskilda behov och ger dem stöd? Är eleverna nöjda eller skulle de vilja ha det på något annat sätt? Resultatet visar att de flesta av eleverna upplever att de får möjlighet att arbeta upp sin muntliga förmåga, de upplever inte att det ses till deras enskilda behov i någon vidare bemärkelse och ungefär hälften är nöjda med den talträning de får i skolan..

The aim of this thesis is to study and compare to what extent Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) support bibliographic description, metadata and mark-up of textual segments. The projects in the study comprise the Norwegian The Writings of Henrik Ibsen (Henrik Ibsens Skrifter) which applies the use of TEI, and Vitterhet society?s The collected works of CJL Almqvist (Vitterhetssamfundets CJL Almqvist Samlade Verk), which applies the use of HTML. The study showed that the Ibsen project provides its text with bibliographic description and metadata to a greater extent than the Almqvist project. The Almqvist project?s texts are provided with certain information about titles, authors and also information about source material and the electronic edition.

En kvalitativ etnografiinspirerad studie med hermeneutisk ansats och med syftet att underso?ka den dramapedagogiska reflektionens sa?rdrag genom att se hur reflektion kan komma till uttryck i dramapedagogisk verksamhet. Studien vill belysa hur begreppet reflektion kan fo?rsta?s i en dramapedagogisk kontext och sta?ller sig fra?gan om reflektion kan fo?rsta?s som na?got annat a?n en verbal kognitiv process. Uppsatsen behandlar teoretiska perspektiv pa? reflektionsbegreppet och relaterar genom abduktion dessa till ett empiriskt material i fo?rsta hand besta?ende av tva? deltagande observationer.

Syftet med följande arbete är att utifrån ett undervisningsförsök se vad en barnbok med matematisk perspektiv ger för pedagogiska möjligheter i arbete med matematik i årskurs 1. Arbetet ger en översikt av tidigare forskning om grundläggande matematik och hur man synliggör matematik i en barnbok. Med hjälp av en undervisnings försök ville jag se vilken betydelse har barnboken för elevens matematikutveckling? Och hur kan man som pedagog synliggöra matematiken i en barnbok? Sammanfattningsvis visar resultaten på att barnböcker är ett tillskott för barnets matematikinlärning. Med en barnbok som underlag får barnet erfara och utveckla matematikbegreep på ett naturligt sätt. De fem lektionerna som genomfördes visade att barnen lyssnade aktiv och arbetade koncentrerat under lektionerna.

The purpose of this study is, based on theories of gender and hegemonic masculinity, to studyhow masculinity and femininity is constructed and reproduced in one of the most popularSwedish podcast: Filip & Fredriks podcast. The main theory in this study is that gender issocially created and sustained by humans through language and interaction with others.The study's research questions is: How are gender roles/gender portrayed in Filip & Fredrik'spodcast? What characteristics are attributed to men and women in Filip & Fredrik's podcast?How does Filip & Fredrik's podcast represents conditions and power relations between menand women?Through an linguistic textual analysis, which is an application of discourse analysis, I seek toget beneath the surface meanings of texts and examine more implicit social meanings andideologies regarding gender. It includes an analysis of metaphors, word choices and syntax.The analysis shows underlying values and ideologies that indicates gender structures in abroader societal context. Choice of words and metaphores in Filip & Fredriks's podcastexpresses symbolism where men and male-typical attributes are highly valued, whilst womanand female-typical attributes is being devalued and representative of the opposite.Masculinities and femininities are also constructed and represented in various ways throughsentence constructions that guides the listeners in certain directions.
