This thesis aims to study the indirect effects of the Europeanization on national parties and the presence of an established national opposition towards the European Union (EU) and its effects in Sweden, as a result of the so-called conflict of Vaxholm. The questions asked were whether or not it existed an established national opposition towards the EU, and if so, what the opposition consists of substantially. The research method, which was used, is a quantified text analysis on the chamber debates of the Swedish Riksdag and the party congresses of Socialdemokraterna. The study shows that there is an ambivalent opposition towards the EU and its effects in the aftermath of the conflict of Vaxholm.  Socialdemokraterna presented resistance, but did not manage to present apparent alternatives, which left the party with a rather indistinctive opposition. In contrast to the right-wing party, the left-wing party had some profound difficulties in positioning itself in the new and globalized economy. I therefore suggest, that it might be more providing and exhaustive to introduce Azmanova?s ideal-type analysis, which instead of positing parties on a left-right continuum, posit parties after respective party?s opinions concerning the risks or opportunities which the EU and the internal market?s effects. .

Denna uppsats avhandlar hur LO ser på sig själva i en tid då globaliseringen av arbetsmarknaden innebär nya utmaningen för LO och fackföreningsrörelsen i stort. Konflikter med utländska företag blir allt vanligare och vi har valt att analysera LO-tidningens framställning av Vaxholmskonflikten, den konflikt som utbröt då LO-förbundet Byggnads satte det lettiska byggföretaget Laval un Partneri i blockad.Syfte är att med en diskursanalytisk ansats studera framställningen av Vaxholmskonflikten i LO-tidningen för att därigenom undersöka hur LO ser på sig själva och sin omvärld. Med andra ord är frågan om hur LO konstituerar sin identitet och ideologi i artiklarna kring Vaxholmskonflikten central i vår analys.Vi har i vår analys kunnat se hur LO artikulerar två motstridiga sätt att se på såväl konflikten i Vaxholm som på övriga politiska frågor, två sätt som vi valt att kalla välfärdsdiskursen och konkurrensdiskursen. Båda diskurserna är såväl politiska som ideologiska och eftersom konkurrensdiskursen är LO:s konstruktion av dom andra står den för allt det som LO inte är och som de inte identifierar sig med. De andra består enligt LO av en mängd grupperingar och institutioner som inte delar LO:s åsikter kring fallet i Vaxholm och/eller i andra politiska frågor rörande den svenska arbetsmarknadsmodellen..

That means that thick national identities always exclude another part. From this I´ve discussed the Swedish identity and its effects in the European co-operation. The establishment of the coastal artillery meant that the Swedish military had access to a whole new military branch, in addition to the Army and the Navy. The conflict in Vaxholm was an important event since it influenced the view upon the Swedish labour market. The entire Swedish model was questioned and questions about what the concept of solidarity stands for and for whom it is meant arose.The Swedish union, Byggnads, was harshly criticised for having acted in a discriminating fashion towards den Latvian workers and the Latvian company Laval un Partneri. The debate in the media was intense.My intention with this essay was to scrutinise the arguments in one of the most prestigious newspapers in Sweden, Dagens Nyheter, and to put the argumentation into a perspective of solidarity. I wanted to investigate how the different parties argued about solidarity. One of the conclusions I drew was that Byggnads needs to question their definition of solidarity and how they wish to express that in a new world more influenced by globalisation and immigrated labours..

Undersökningen belyser de metoder som kommunerna i Nordost (Täby, Österåker, Vaxholm, Danderyd och Vallentuna) i Stockholms län använder sig av i analysering av flyktingars kompetens. Genom ett samarbete i kommunerna är ambitionen att förkorta perioden för de nyanländas etablering på arbetsmarknaden. Undersökningen som gjordes är kvalitativ och innefattar intervjuer med berörd personal från kommunerna.Undersökningen visar att det finns ett stort behov att på ett effektivt sätt få ut de nyanlända flyktingarna i arbete. Resultatet visar att det finns en gemensam grundsyn på kartläggningen av kompetensen hos de nyanlända. Flyktingkvinnor har generellt sett sämre förutsättningar på den svenska arbetsmarknaden, dock visar resultatet att inga speciella åtgärder vidtas för att stödja deras framsteg till självförsörjning..

The Vaxholm conflict was initiated when the Swedish Trade Union for Construction Workers shut down a construction site in order to prevent a Latvian construction company to build a school after the two parties had failed to agree upon a collective agreement in compliance with Swedish regulations. An emotional public debate followed that resulted in a discussion of the proposal for the Services Directive of the EU, based upon the country-of-origin principle. In this thesis we will analyze whether the country-of-origin principle or the country-of-destination principle is best suited to capture the gains-of-trade that the common market hoards and improve welfare within the EU. We conclude that the country-of-origin principle is the more apt of the two, though it leads to some short-run costs such as structural unemployment. But these will be more than outweighed by the gains in aggregate welfare for the EU in the long run..

Uppsatsen tar upp frågan huruvida upphandlande enheter kan ställa krav på svenska kollektivavtal vid offentliga upphandlingar utifrån både nationella och gemenskapsrättsliga regler. Ämnet är aktuellt och har genom blockaden i Vaxholms kommun väckt stor diskussion i media då ärendet i nuläget ligger hos EG-domstolen.De juridiska områden som berörs är europeisk integrationsrätt, arbetsrätt och upphandlingsjuridik. För att besvara frågan har vi utrett vad är gällande rätt på området genom att undersöka relevanta rättsfall samt tagit upp hur frågan diskuteras i den svenska samhällsdebatten. Utifrån detta har vi svarat på frågeställningen och diskuterat kring en framtida lösning på problemet. I nuläget kan den upphandlande enheten inte ställa dessa krav men vi ser en eventuell förändring i framtiden..

The Latvian building company Laval un Partneri Ltd (Laval) posted Latvian construction workers at the rebuilding of a school in Vaxholm in autumn 2004. Because the company refused to sign a collective agreement with Svenska Byggnadsarbetareförbundet (Byggnads), which is the Swedish trade union for constructions workers, Byggnads put the construction site under a boycott. Next Laval sued Byggnads for damages in the Swedish Labour Court (AD) because Laval considers the boycott as well as Byggnad´s demand that Laval signs a collective agreement incompatible with EC Law. AD has now demanded a preliminary ruling from the European Court of Justice (ECJ). While waiting for the preliminary ruling from the ECJ, several important questions of principle stand unanswered.

Control and comparison of various cleaning methods on restaurants in Södra RoslagenThe purpose of this report is to find out and analyze the efficiency of cleaning methods in restaurant kitchens. The investigation was carried out through unannounced inspections at 89 restaurants in Södra Roslagen (municipality of Danderyd, Täby and Vaxholm). ATP-measuring was done on a plate, a knife, a bench surface and a cutting board. The ATP-method measured the amount of food residue on equipment and working surfaces after cleaning, with a luminometer and swabs. Restaurant staffs were asked to describe in detail how and when the last cleaning was carried out on the surface.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka hur existerande matfestivaler arbetar med konceptutveckling, tematisering och storytelling ur ett upplevelseproduktionsperspektiv. Intervjuer har genomförts med tre strategiskt utvalda matfestivaler i Norden; Den Norske Matfestivalen i Ålesund, Matfesten i Skellefteå och Matfestivalen i Skövde. Uppsatsen beskriver metoder inom upplevelseproduktion så som; konceptutveckling, tematisering och storytelling. Organisationen Vaxholms Matfestival önskar skapa en matfestival, i början av juni, med syfte att förlänga samt agera som ett startskott för sommarsäsongen i Vaxholm. Baserat på intervjuresultaten och litteratursökningen har jag utvecklat ett koncept för en kommande matfestival ? Vaxholms Matfestival.

Någon egentlig definition av begreppet stridsåtgärd finns inte reglerat i MBL. I 41 § MBL tas det upp att det inte är tillåtet att vidta stridsåtgärd vars syfte är att utöva påtryckning i en tvist om kollektivavtalets giltighet eller bestånd. I 42 § MBL finns det ett förbud mot olovliga stridsåtgärder. Det är även förbjudet för både arbetsgivar- och arbetstagarorganisationer att understödja eller medverka i otillåtna stridsåtgärder. I paragrafen finns även ett undantag som innebär att det är tillåtet att vidta stridsåtgärder mot utländska företag för att försöka undantränga utländska kollektivavtal.

According to the Swedish Environmental Code, hairdressers as all practitioners are required to take measurements to protect the environment and public health. In hygienic treatments hazards may arise from inadequate hygiene practice which spread infection. Hazards may also arise from the use of hair care products such as permanent wave solutions, bleaches and hair dyes. Some hair dye components are known to cause contact allergy, mostly in hair dressers who are exposed professionally but also in some cases in consumers.
