The objective of this study was to study the agreement between two methods of indirect bloodpressure measurement in dogs and cats and to establish the within-method variation for the methods. The utility and practicality in the clinical setting were also evaluated for the both methods. The techniques evaluated were the oscillometric method and the Doppler ultrasonographic method. Thirtytwo dogs and 26 cats were used in the study and seven dogs and five cats out of these animals had diseases that may effect the bloodpressure. Bloodpressure was measured in both anesthetized and in conscious animals.

Syftet med detta arbete var att studera effekterna av en totalintegrering vad gäller barnens lärandemiljö, i termer av: * Lust att lära * Individanpassning * Möjlighet till variation i arbetsformer och material * Aktivitet * Interaktion * samt pedagogernas uppfattning om lärandemiljöns utveckling Totalintegrering i detta sammanhang omfattar integrering av förskoleklass, skola och fritidshem vad avser pedagoger med olika professioner, barn i olika åldrar (6-12 år) samt de olika verksamheternas specifika pedagogik. Det pedagogiska utvecklings ? och förändringsarbetet gjordes med ansats i aktionsforskningen och genomfördes av hela arbetslaget genom kontinuerliga intervjuer, diskussioner och reflektioner för att utvärdera, analysera och vidareutveckla verksamheten. Ett slumpvist urval av berörda barn samt föräldrar intervjuades kring syftet. Resultaten visade på att totalintegreringen givit positiva effekter på barnens lärandemiljö vad avser lust att lära, individanpassning, möjlighet till variation i arbetsformer och material, aktivitet samt interaktion.

Background ? The last 20 years healthcare has been facing increased demands on efficiency and increased customer satisfaction. This despite reduced resources and increasing demand. These demands are presents in all departments within healthcare organisations, including medical laboratories that currently receive an ever-increasing number of remittances. Laboratory flows are quickly becoming overloaded with samples and related materials.

Multiple factors are involved in control of beef sensory quality so great variation can be induced. The perception of meat quality can be affected anywhere in the product chain. Both the environment and the set of genes of the animals have an effect on the final output. A problem facing the beef industry today is the significant variations in meat quality between individual animals, which is reflected in the uneven quality of the meat that reaches the consumer. If the quality of meat in stores varies significantly over time, the consumers? trust may decrease.

This study investigates if, and in that case, how design theory is applied in practice in the web development field. Prior research has focused on methods used in the web development field. We wanted to study the designers role in a web design process by comparing existing designer roles with design theory literature. We did qualitative interviews with two practitioners at two different communication agencies in northern Sweden. Based on our qualitative data and literature review we have concluded that a designer has to devote a lot of energy on requirements engineering in order to develop a clear understanding of the design situation..

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att utvärdera om det fanns någon variation av tårfilmens osmolariet, morgon och kväll hos personer utan symptom av torra ögon.Metod: Tårfilmens osmolaritet mättes på totalt 30 patienter, två gånger på en dag; morgon och kväll. Mätningarna utfördes med TearLabTM osmolarity system. Både höger och vänster öga mättes på varje patient. Samtliga deltagande ombads fylla i en symptomenkät vid namn TERTC-DEQ. Endast personer utan symptom på torra ögon tilläts delta i studien.

In this essay I have described ecocriticism as a theory with several different subfields that are inspired by a cross-disciplinary approach, such as green culture studies, ecofeminism, and postcolonial ecocriticism. After a short summary of the background of ecocritical studies I analyze the various subfields, take a closer look at their contents and present various examples of ecocritical thinking. A presentation of the commonly used concepts within the discipline and some reflections on these is followed by my final discussion, where I state that even though ecocriticism is a relatively new theory and the concept doesn?t have a clear definition as yet, it is in my view a useful tool for analysis and can with time make valuable contributions to literary studies, not least by introducing a number of new perspectives..

The purpose of this study was to examine how the foster parent's need of support is provided. The study was built upon a qualitative method with interviews with ten foster parents. More specifically, its aim was too find out how the foster parents themselves looked upon how their need of support, and from whom the support was provided. According to the law, it is the social services obligation to provide the foster parents with all the support they could need. The picture the media sends out is different from what it should be because according to them, the social services fall short in the follow-up and also the support of the contact with the foster parents.

The purpose of this study has been to examine how the image of the gambler is described by studying a report published by Folkhälsoinstituet [FHI] and a number of chosen articles from the Swedish Evening Press. Discourse theory has been used both as theory, together with social constructionism, and as a research method. The main conclusions of the study are that three different discourses can be identified: the normal gambler, the professional gambler and the problem gambler. The image of the problem gambler is described as a deviant and problematic minority characterized by loss of control, irrational thoughts and dissociative behaviour. The construction of the problem gambler fills three possible purposes for the state: As a solvable problem to handle criticism against negative consequences of gambling, as an argument to avoid competition on the market and as an individual characterized by loss of control in order to legitimize and make the construction of the normal gambler possible..
