As people grow older, physical and mental changes occur that can make the use of cars more complicated. The possibility to travel by car is important for many people to keep the connection with the society and to feel independent. How can Volvo cars face the needs of this growing target group?The purpose of this project is to make a car concept that responds to those needs, it is therefore important to maintain the values of Volvo cars.

Denna uppsats ämnar utreda vad det är som gör att Red Bulls konsumenter uppfattar Red Bull som unikt i jämförelse med andra energidrycker. Red Bull är idag marknadsledande i Sverige inom energidryckesmarknaden. De har en marknadsandel på 31 procent samtidigt som de har ett pris-premium på sina produkter. För att utreda Red Bulls unicitet har uppsatsen utgått från en teoretisk modell beståendes av fyra påverkande faktorer som alla bidrar till uppfattad unicitet. Dessa faktorer är uppfattad kvalité av varumärket, medvetenhet om varumärket, associationer till varumärket och lojalitet till varumärket.

Riskpremie i UIP - möjlighet till cross-currency arbitrage? - en jämförande studie av ränta och växelkurs mellan Storbritannien, Tyskland och Sverige.

The thesis explores the Uncovered Interest rate Parity (UIP) and the possibility of cross-currency arbitrage between England, Germany and Sweden. The data is gathered between May 1999 and December 2005 on a monthly basis and is compared using simple regression analysis. The aim is to find out whether UIP holds and, if it does not, a risk premium exists that makes it possible to make arbitrage gains on moving capital between England, Germany and Sweden. It is discovered that UIP does not hold and that cross-currency arbitrage possibilities exist. In the end a an attempt is made to practically show how the arbitrage possibility could be used for a real investor to make risk free gains from the Foreign Exchange market..

This thesis concerns the Swedish credit card market to a younger public and specifically Nordea as a card editor. The purpose is to investigate whether a Swedish bank can, and want to build long term relationships with a young public through credit cards, and if so, how they do this.The theoretical background formulated by researchers Bendapundi and Berry consists of four key factors of relationship maintenance; trust, dependency, dedication and constraint. These key factors are also assembled in an analytical framework. The empirical findings mainly consist of interviews with three employees at Nordea. They describe a recent segmentation of the bank?s customers with the issuing of a new credit card; Mastercard Silver.

Todays´ Swedish social insurance system is ineffectively formed. The costs have dramatically increased during the 1990´s. Utveckling av dörrinredning till premiumkylskåp

Detta examensarbete är utfört i samarbete med AB Electrolux Mariestadfabriken som arbetar med produktutveckling och tillverkning av kyl- och frysskåp. Uppdraget var att utveckla ett helhetskoncept för insidan på en kylskåpsdörr i premiumsegmentet med fokus på infästning och modularisering av balkonger. Kylskåpet som helhetskonceptet ska placeras i har en inredning av rostfritt stål, vilket innebär att de lösningar som i dagsläget tillämpas för kylsdörren inte kan användas.Projektet inleddes med en undersökning av bakgrunden till uppdraget samt en förstudie där målgruppen definierades, konkurrenter identifierades och kraven från användarna samlades in. Efter detta följde en grundlig konceptframtagningsfas som innefattade generering av idéer, skapande av koncept, konceptval och detaljutveckling.Det slutliga helhetskonceptet visualiserades med en prototyp som erbjuder steglös justering av kylskåpsdörrens balkonger. Grundkonstruktionen består av två strängpressade aluminiumprofiler som har en dold infästning på dörren.

The use of entertainment in various kinds of business events has recently increased in popularity among Swedish firms. Often, stand-up comedians are hired to entertain the employees or customers during these happenings. Generally, the firm invests a considerable amount of money in this service and is furthermore willing to pay a premium for a famous comedian. Although the market for this type of service is fairly large, the knowledge of the motives behind the investments is yet limited.A grounded theory study is carried out exploring the purpose of the entertainment as well as the rationales behind the preference for a famous comedian over an unknown. Two general types of contexts (internal and external) are identified and a number of objectives related to each type are distinguished.

Nedskrivningsprövning av goodwill - En studie av de WACC antaganden som gjordes av svenska noterade bolag under åren 2007-2009

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine the companies on Nasdaq OMXS Large and Mid Cap to see if there are interesting patterns regarding their WACC assumptions, used when performing impairment tests on goodwill, during 2007-2009. If so, can we explain these patterns? MethodWe have gathered information about the WACC assumptions presented in the annual reports of the 133 companies that were listed on OMXS Large and Mid Cap during the spring of 2011. To complement this quantitative information we have also conducted an interview with Peter Malmqvist and contacted eight of the companies that were in the study.ConclusionWe can conclude that not all companies present their WACC assumptions in the annual report, even though IAS 36 states that this should be done. Of the 45 companies that were included in our study, eight had lowered their WACC during 2008 and increased it in 2009.

Locally produced pork ? Västra Götaland

The interest for locally produced food has increased the last couple of years, and some consumers have a willingness to pay a premium for niche products like locally produced food. At the same time it seems like the Swedish pig production are in a negative development period. This study tries to see if locally produced pork could be a possible factor which might affect producers in the county of Västra Götaland views on different aspects regarding their production. Consumers of pork and their point of view regarding locally produced pork were also studied. Surveys to consumers and producers were constructed. Although previous studies claim the opposite, in the two locations (Högsäter and Uddevalla) where the consumer survey were performed, there were more men than women that always bought locally produced pork.

Hedging Core and Non-Core Risks: Evidence from Forestry and Paper Industry

A great number of empirical researches show that hedging is associated with higher firm value, particularly hedging interest rate and exchange rate. However, there is no clear support for value-added risk management hypothesis in the case of producers of commodities. Moreover, according to Shrand and Unal (1997), there are two types of risks, core business risks (or core risk) and homogeneous risks (or non core risks), which are based on a firm's comparative advantages with respects to the source of risk. Firm can earn economic profits for bearing core risks in which it has a comparative information advantage. Firm earn a zero economic rents for bearing non-core risks, where it has no advantage information than its competitors.

To be able to hinder the global warming the emissions of greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide foremost, must decrease. By switching to green electricity, it is possible to reduce the emissions from electricity producing sources.In 1999, Swedenergy conducted a study about whether or not Swedish households would consider buying green electricity. According to the study, about 75 percent were willing to buy green electricity. 40 percent of these were prepared to pay a premium for green electricity. However, according to the results from the study, only one percent actually bought green electricity, and since 1999, this proportion has merely increased slightly.

Downside Risk - En studie av riskkompensation på den svenska aktiemarknaden

This paper investigates the compensation for risk in the context of the Swedish stock market with a special focus on downside risk. Using daily market data collected from the A-list of the Stockholm Stock Exchange between the years 1983 and 2005 the purpose is to answer the question whether Swedish investors are compensated for holding stocks with high downside risk, measured as downside beta. Using panel data analysis it is shown, in accordance with most previous evidence in international research, firstly that stocks with high beta values on average experience higher returns than stocks with low beta values, and secondly that stocks with high downside beta values experience higher returns than stocks with high beta values in general. On the other hand, cross-sectional regression methodology using a bivariate regression approach shows that downside beta does not explain excess returns very well. Instead, regression analysis suggest that high upside beta does a much better job in explaining excess return over this time period compared to downside beta.

Brand-extension och effekter på varumärkeskapitalet -

Uppsatsens huvudsakliga syfte är att öka förståelsen för hur varumärkeskapitalets dimensioner påverkas av en nedåtgående vertikal brand-extension. Med en kvantitativ metod och en experimentell undersökning, med 440 svarande studenter, har vi belyst området. Experimentet baserades på en fiktiv lågprislinje för ett starkt varumärke inom dagligvaruhandeln, i vårt fall Uncle Ben?s. Den teoretiska referensramen kommer från områdena varumärkeskapital och brand-extension.
